Jeff Erhardt, Dixie Heights class of '89. Football, Basketball & Baseball.
Going back a little further, Bob (Butch) Herbst, Dayton High School class of '60, 4 sports, football, basketball, baseball & track (Dayton didn't even have a track, they ran at Bellevue)
I heard there was a little "imbalance" of free throws. Does anybody know the exact free throw totals? I heard around 40 to 15, favor of NL. A little "homering"?
NCC coaches play this as "game conditions". They have spotters in the press box with head phones to the field. Just like game conditions.
To the Dixie coaches, just another scrimmage.
Grew up in the east end of Newport in the '50's. When the Wildcats weren't playing at home, we'd walk across the creek and "hook-in" to the Bellevue game at Gilligan Stadium. Great times, great stadium and great teams, ala Jim Fulmer, Steele Harmon, Ronnie Mendell and the running back who starred at Army------(forgot his name) plus a bunch of others. Loved those nights. Great occassion for Bellevue!!!!
Last week all of you "blue boys" were picking CC over Dixie by 40 or 50 points. That didn't happen as everybody saw. CC's offense is "captured" now. NCC in this one. Another loss for the "blue boys".
The new stadium will seat about 3000, 2500 on the home side and 500 on the visitors side. The old stadium seated about 1500 plus about 1000 standing, for total capacity 2500.
Also, previously your were discussing the cost, $10M. That's an estimate of the total project cost. The sports complex alone is estimated @ $4M-$5M, the balance is for land acquisition, utilities (large storm sewer, large water main and underground electric power) replacement/moving, site security and parking lots.
