  1. I wonder how tempting this job is considering Henry Clay and Sam Simpson have had thier way with the other 6As in the city. Plus X and T are a huge road block. What kind of guy would TC look for, a young coach with a good pedigree or a vet with experience?

Things go in cycles in the city. Henry Clay doesn't have anything the other city schools are worried about in the long term.

On the job Tates Creek should look for a coach who is willing to sacrifice administrative support for talent and teach a full load of classes. Fayette county schools have talent just waiting for coaching and BOOSTERS because the county pays for nothing.

  2. ^I agree with you on the give and take from the coaches.

Specific to Henry Clay, I always like to see seniors who have given four years to the program get their due. I would have like to have seen named to at least honorable mention:

Elliott Carter (OT), Jacob Bell (SS), and Eddy Nzolameso-Bangudi (DE).

Eddy was second on the team in tackles and got nothing. I know the Lafayette coach knows who he is. He made a spectacular interception and returned it for a touchdown in that game. For especially Eddy not go even get mentioned makes me want to consider this coaches poll a farce!

Blame the coach. The paper says here are the number of slots you get, fill in the blanks. The number of slots are based on the season finish and each coach votes in his own players.

  3. Auburn's defense will take a hit when TF's system is in full swing... AU has had a great defense because the offense they run is a ball control offense that is determined to have more time of possession than the opponent. When that changes expect the defense to not look so glamorous...

I love it when people don't know what they are talking about. The U.K offense with Tim Couch led the SEC in time of possesion. Teaxas Tech leads the Big 12 some years in 1st downs, And Tony has played ball control to some extent at Troy to help the young defense.

  4. IMHO the quality of officiating has been going down in recent years.

My #1 comment about officiating is that when the team that won the game says the officiating was terrible then the officiating was terrible.

There are great officials and crews out there, and people that put a ton of effort into the job. Then there are the rest that don't do justice to the blood sweat and tears that the players and coaches in this state put in.
