  1. To all those I have offended with my statements on post #61 I have ask that it be removed, I have always cheered for the 16th region representative at Rupp, but this year if its Elliott and Coach Mays is still the coach I will cheer for ANY team they play. I will continue to cheer for the individual players for they are not to blame for the sins of their coach

  2. :cry:Elliott County took a giant step back on 02-08-2008 this is not a thread about how one team beat another, its about how one coach has allowed the patients to run the asylum. Elliott IMO is the most talented team in the 16th but, last night Coach Mays allowed his players "this is not an exaggeration" to cry to the officials on every call that went against them an there werent many. But the worst disgrace was the action of #5 when he entered the game he proceded to throw elbows and believe it or not punch a player in the back of the head no foul was called an it is all on tape, finally when a foul was called #5 started tauntng the Rams by pointing from 1 endzone to the other at the scoreboard of course no technical was called. When Coach Mays finally took him out he shook his hand and patted him on the back. As everyone on here knows I enjoy pulling Russell's, East, Ashland, GCHS,etc, chain but I respect my brothers from these schools. If #5 played for any of these coachs he would have been met at halfcourt by his coach an escorted to the locker room and his season would probably be over. IMO its time for the Administration at Elliott to look at its program as good as it is does it want someone who obviously can not teach his players to act like they play with RESPECT.:cry:Russell may have 3-4 wins but I repect Coach Dodd more this morning than I ever have

  3. The only legitimate reason I can think of to not allow bands would be space, and as was mentioned that wouldn't be a problem at Greenup County. I would love to hear the reasoning behind this move.

LCRW we both know the administration won't give an answer on this question, they wouldn't have a comment to the question "Is the world round?"much less anything else

  4. Raceland has had pitchers at U of L , GCHS at Uk, Boyd at UK and Marshall, Ashland at Uk, EKU, Murray, and Western and thats in the last 20 years. I understand your pride an I understand GCHS is looking for anything to hang their hat on, so I will wish you guys luck on this baseball season. I have alot of good friends from Greenup who I have repect for, an I wish Mr. Hieneman the best of luck just don't expect too much out of this young man. and good luck on your search for a new football and basketball coach

  5. You wish spindoc. No blanks last week when they beat Greenup at their place. It may be a little tarnished but for sure not a blank.:creepy:

Barney playing on a neutral court , which won't be neutral if you had seen the Raceland turnout at Fairview, there were more rams than eagles there. Lewis doesn't match up with Raceland in any area, the only hope Lewis has is if Raceland gets in foul trouble but, that happened at Fairview an the Rams still won IMO

    Raceland 75

    Lewis Co 48

  6. Hieneman is a good pitcher, but he does not throw in the 90's so he is very hitable, if the defense is off or his location a good team will beat him. He will not strike out 12 a game consistently, you should be proud of his schlorship but, BC has sent kids to alot bigger schools than Morehead who were pitchers that did throw in the low 90's

  7. I agree kids do get weeded out before they blossum. I have seen that in Larger School Youth Leagues many of times, and we all know once a kid quits that they never return. These days and times it is hard enough to keep the dedicated players playing, moreless talk a kid into coming back after getting cut at a younger age.

Also think it is sad that the Coach that made a decision that affected another child normally is a Dad as well.

I think Baseball is the worst sport for this in our area though. Taking players at a very young age for JV and cutting a 9/10th grader that has worked hard for the system for years to make room for them. Most of these 7th/8th graders that are taken to replace an older kid will be replaced by a 7th/8th grader themselves in just a couple of years, due to the fact their parents allowed them to get in the system before they were ready and that is what the coaches will judge them by and will never allow them a chance again, even if they do become better and ready. Baseball is the only sport that doesnt have Middle School teams and that hurts our Area really. It would be one thing if the school size made it to where you had to use younger kids to have the numbers, but to be picking up younger kids just so they wont jump to another school system or that you needed someone to mow the grass is another.

With the growth of JV baseball it has helped, but what you guys wrote is so true if Jordan would have listened to his 9th grade coach we would have missed out on one of the greatest of all time
