Well, here is the classic David vs Goliath. Holmes with the tall, athletic team that seemingly cannot be defeated; Elliott with a short, not very athletic team that is nothing but a collection of smart, pure basketball players. Polar opposites really. When looking at the matchup intelligently this is by all appearences a mis-match; how could this group from Elliott possibly defeat mighty Holmes? I'm only going to say to not dismiss this pride of lions from Elliott too quickly. They've played together so long that they're a well-oiled machine; they know where each other is going to be on the floor at all times without thinking about it. The will to win by both the players and the Elliott community is a truly magical thing. Whether this is enough to overcome this mighty Holmes team we'll find out in the morning, but never count them out. Maybe, just maybe, David will find his mark again.

If you didn't watch or listen to this one you really missed out. There were so many twists and turns down the stretch that it kept you on edge until the last few seconds. Great win for Elliott over a great team from SV.

Wow. What a game. Just what I expected. It went down to the last few seconds and Elliott made the plays. Both of these teams should be extremely proud after this one. What a treat for the fans to watch.

Wow, what a game. It's living up to it's billing, that's for sure. A lot of fast paced action the last few minutes of the quarter let Elliott retake the lead. They may want to let Ferg take a few shots in the final 8 mins though.

Exactly! But it definetly seems to be at pace to favor SV now. Elliott needs to cause some problems on the defensive end to get their running game going.

This is a good opp for EC to come out in the 2nd half and put this game away. A few quick buckets to get the lead up into double figures and SV will have a hard row to hoe.

No problem 16th. I meant that physically SV brought it to them the first time, and I don't know if Elliott was ready for it. Plus I don't want Elliott to take this team lightly as they are very good and very capable of winning this game. I don't think the first game was a fluke, but I do think Elliott is playing better now also. I just don't want them taking anyone for granted at this stage of the game. I'm sure the players won't. I really don't see SV beating them twice as long as Elliott brings their best effort. Les, your hatred for Elliott is funny but you're consistant anyway. :lol:

Has there ever been a better Friday night session than these two games tonight in Rupp? Four titans battling it out just to face another tomorrow! This lower bracket was incredible. Whoever comes out of this side would be as deserving a state champion as we've ever had!

I don't believe that SV will let Elliott shoot like they did yesterday. Their defense will be much better than Anderson. I'm not sure why some Elliott fans don't respect SV when they whipped them in the earlier game but hopefully the players don't have the same outlook that this will be an easy game. That being said I think that Elliott will get their revenge in this game and pull out the win and advance because the players and coaches will respect how good this SV team can be. Should be a dandy game though.
