BBA is a joke. Everybody praises Lennox for being one of the best too, and well I just don't see it. If he's known as the best of the group... that should tell you something. :sssh:

 

I have seen some very well called games though so not all refs are a lost cause!

I dont' want to beat a dead horse. Everyone has seen the video from the Henry Clay vs. Franklin County game, and know the refs screwed up. However, as the very next game in the 11th region tournament was set to tip off, I was astonished to see Bo Queen on the floor to call the Scott County vs. Tates Creek game. Is there no accountability for these officials at all?

 

No ref from the HC vs. FC game should have been allowed to call any game the rest of the post-season. Franklin County was sure had liked to have another game, and I bet those 7 seniors and 3 senior managers would like to have had a chance to move on in the tournament, but they were denied that. There season was over, and at the very least the 3 officials responsible should have had there season concluded as well.

 

Not to mention that Bo had the best angle of the player and the shot as time expired, and the fact that he did nothing to right the call should be enough to keep him off any of the rest of the post-season games.

 

Every year, I hear how great the officials are in the BBA, and that they are the best in the state. Every year I say they are terrible, and with the latest round of poor judgments and a definite lack of accountability, I think it is time for the 11th region to go out of region for the tournament. The rest of the state can't possibly be any worse that this, and at least they would call without bias and without the large chip on their shoulders!

Every official I have spoken with in the region has asked to go out for years. Hopefully it will finally happen. I do know they all lost the opportunity for a regional final and there will be suspensions into next year.

I assume you are an official or are associated with the KHSAA officials somehow, but I've been attending Sweet 16's for 15 years straight and have seats 3 rows off the floor. I could almost swear I've watched this guy ref sweet 16 games although not in the last few years. In any event I could be wrong. I just watched the CKY sports replay as well as First String Media's filming of the game.....hold on I have to go to restroom:puke:......I feel a little better now (I'm sure only temporary relief).

The ref that called no basket should be held accountable by the KHSAA. I've seen this guy ref many times and in the Sweet 16 as well. This call was so obvious I can only conclude that this ref has totally lost his edge. It was so bad, the only explanation can be that this ref is totally inept.

 

The KHSAA should ban this guy from officiating high school basketball all together!!!!!!!

None of the 3 officials in the game have ever been to the Boys Sweet 16.

Is it time for a change at Russell?

Cross Town Rivalry with lots of emotion. Wasn't at the game but heard there were lots and lots of fouls called. I was told that the foul count was in Western Hills favor.

Lafayette has been very, very solid since last year's district tournament. Have been destroying people so far this season until last night, which was obviously a very good win.

For the 2010-2011 season as has been rumored on here, guess that would mean 10th region tournament would just rotate between The Fieldhouse and BOK and Montgomery would have to play regional at Morehead State. You know that would have to make more than a few Mt.Sterling tax payers mad to build a gym that size to specifically(probably) hold the 10th region tournament and then be shipped off to the 16th so Fleming County can come back to the 10th. Also heard rumors at the BOK that Clark County was headed out of the 10th in a season or two

I heard coach Hicks had a few words with the supervisor of officials after the game. You can't blame him for having refaphobia (fear of referees). Early in his career he had to face Bobby Keith/Clay Co and some shady characters in stripes.

I'd like to have heard the conversation.

Certainly isn't the first time Hicks has put a loss on the stripes.

Did anyone else notice Scott Co. didn't score the last 3 1/2 minutes of the game?

My question is simply this, why on earth would the former coach be brought out two years after the he was replaced and be debated about whether the Lady Saints would have advanced as far as they did this year. Players win games, the success the Lady Saints had this season should all revolve around group of kids that have played together for quite a while, played hard, smart, and together. Keep this about the kids.

I do think it is funny how a certain player seemed to have the green light at all times with no repercussions.

Sure would have been nice to see what the previous St. pat coach could have drawn up.

I hope we get a chance to see Mike Reitz in the semifinals in his last season.

Manual just may find something at the right time of year to sneak themselves into the finals. No way they can beat Eastern, Moore/Trinity, and a Ballard or Jtown though.

I look for Elliott to match up with West Carter again in the finals with the result no different than the district final.

Very dangerous game for the Royals. Without a doubt the one team they did not want to play. Remember both teams will be coming off a long break. Whoever recovers the quickest from the layoff will prevail.
