  1. No crying here, I said that the game was already decided. No sour grapes either good win for clark, but poorly officiated game.

All the games in the 10th were poorly officiated. With the exception of John Chamberlin , I thought they were not good. It was the same way last year. Officiating is getting worse and worse each year. I watched a game in the 16th regional finals last night and those guys called a good game. You know ,I've been around sports all my life and when things don't go well, there's always someone to blame, coaches,a player, referees, .Someone has to be the scapegoat. Sports are great but it brings out the worst in some people :thumb:

  2. For those of you that attended the 10th Region finals game yesterday between Mason County and Clark County and have been to the new Montgomery Co. gym, do you think that Montgomery Co. can host a crowd like the Fieldhouse did yesterday?

I am wondering what people are thinking regarding this situation.

The Fieldhouse is the best possible place in the 10th Region to host this tournament.

    nope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Wow. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with it.

Three local teams lost to three non-local teams by a total of 11 points in their respective regional finals, two of them losing leads in the final minute. Rather heartbreaking if you ask me. It's the Maysville paper after all, not the Cardinal/Indian/Spartan Fan Club Newsletter.

I'd bet it's the first time in the history of the paper that a regional semi-final game played at Mason Co hasn't been written up. Thats OK, I've understood your thinking for years and you give the Mason Co people what they want. Sure sorry about blowing someone's mind. :thumb:

  4. From what I can tell, looks like someone might want to get a new keyboard as their caps lock key seems to be stuck. I thought that was in the form of yelling with the caps lock key on and not allowed.

Doesn't have anything to do with the topic. I do need a new keyboard ,the cApS lOcK KeyS doesn't work all the time.

  5. Unless I missed it, there really isn't a write up about the Brossart-Mason County semi-finals game.

The article that is on there is of the Friday night Brossart-Mason County GIRLS Semi-Finals Game.

I would expect that both boys semi-finals games will be included to some degree in the Tuesday paper, even though the results of those games are irrelevant at this time.

In today's paper , there's about 1/4 page write up on the Mason Co's BOYS semi-final game with Brossart and NOTHING about the Clark Co -Scott Semi-final game. You did miss it. To me those games are not irrelevant at this time .Why would one game be printed and the other irrelevant.

  6. I can not believe there wasn't a write up on the semi final regional game between Clark Co and Scott in Mondays edition of the paper that was played Saturday afternoon. There was a big write up concerning the Mason Co and Brossart semi-final game. That kind of thing makes me consider cancelling my subscription. I'm also going to add this to the comment line of the paper. First time in a long time we never had a winning regional team picture and all the pictures we had in todays paper were Mason Co people. There were other teams in this tournament besides Mason Co. PRETTY BAD LEDGER INDEPENDENT.

  7. This was the worst officiated basketball game I have witnessed since I have been following the 10th Region. BOTH WAYS. Inconsistent is the word of the day.

I agree ,it seems to get worse and worse and this year has been the worse ever. The refs in the Mason-Brossart game were horrible. Not many breaks for Brossart.

  8. You know people can beat up to death the home court stuff,But bottom line the Royals has went into everybody's home building and whipped up on them in the 10th anyways. So by everybody's logic of the homecourt stuff than Montgomery shouldn't loose next year with the home court right,Well see about that.

Some people aren't real big on reasoning. Home court does make a difference if teams are close to having the same talent. With the talent Mason has coming back next year, the site won't really matter. Mason Co is rated the best team in the region but playing at home gives them an advantage and if you don't know this then you should talk to someone that knows basketball.

  9. Would you like a little cheese to go with your whine. OR you could volunteer to do the programs yourself John Boy. Printing the type of programs you desire would cost alot more money to print and that cost would get passed on to the consumer. It sounds like everyone else agrees that the Ledger Independent does a good job with the program but I guess some people are never satisfied.

Montgomery may have those nice programs next year. The 40th district had them this year. ylsuper:

  10. You have got to be kidding right?

    1. I have newspaper clippings from the early 70's when Maysville beat Louisville Central in the state tournament. They are still in great shape. Just got to know how to take care of them.

    2. As far as who prints the programs, that is not a problem as there is more than one business in town that does professional print work.

When you go to the State Tournament this year go out and buy a newspaper to see whose playing and check the roster but be sure not to buy one of the tournament programs.(They don't have those in depth comments made by the coaches)

  11. I disagree

Thanks ,I'm glad someone out there agrees . I had a person tell me yesterday afternoon that he had every program from the 60's until they quit making them.He told me that every once in a while he gets them out and they bring back a lot of good memories. Sorry people , they were much nicer.By the way , he doesn't keep the papers.:ylsuper:
