Rose Hill by 15-20. Can't contain the BIG-D

We are all better coaches when we have good material.:ylsuper:

I do have a few conections...... Retired Teacher and supporter of all sports.
Knowles very unselfish...not one to pad his stats, but rather make great passes and see his team mates do well.
Sure enjoy all of your comments. They're always honest and good and you are very complimentary of the different players and teams.:thumb:

Clark Co--Wood-15, Bennett -11, Rogers-7, Knowles-7, Stenzel-6, Brigman-6, Hatton-5, Davis-2, Mason-:fight: 1

I have played a lot of basketball in my life in high school and also 4 years of college and every game was important to me ,no matter if it was a game during the season or a tournament game. I cherish all of the memories of all the games in both high school and college and only played in the State Tournament one year. I played for a small high school for three years and we never had a chance of beating the big city school in our district but I still love those memories of playing for that school. There's more to this than just winning the big tournament game. That's the way I think and you have the right to think the way you wish. Remember there's only going to be one winner after the big show in March . so what does that make everyone else , LOSERS. No.
-
In the grand scheme of things, you can go 25-0 and lose the first game in the district tournament and you've accomplished nothing. They don't LITERALLY mean nothing, but the season is just preparation for the post-season.
Then just play the tournament in November and forget about the rest of it.Would save a lot of time and money and wouldn't have all of these remarks.
-
They are a team that is built for a 3-game run in March. Nothing more and nothing less. Losses now mean nothing, wins now mean nothing. They are a team you do NOT want to face in the tournament.
Why play if it doesn't mean anything?

Spindoc--where was that lake. Was that Martin Lake?

I mentioned Mason Co gym as being on of the best if not the best in Ky high school, but for the people in the upper deck, the scoreboard is very hard to see. They either need scoreboards in all 4 corners of the gym or one that hangs in the center.

Who else scored for Mason Co.:ylsuper:

Scott Co by 10-15 points:thumb:

I agree with the Marshall County pick. Went to the Hoop Fest this year. First high school scoreboard I have seen with on-floor player stats. It is more like a college arena more than a gym.
How many does Marshall County gym seat?:ylsuper:

What about Woody Crum?
In my book, hard to beat!!!!!!!!!!!:fight: :dancingpa :jump:   :flame:

Toad, I used to watch you play at St Pat also.I remember you being a very good player. Also remember Fran Stahl and even Laurnie Caproni. All three ,fine ball players. I think I saw you at the 5/3 tournament.:dancingpa

I have never seen one any better or nicer to watch a game in as the one at Mason Co.They may be a better one in the state but I haven't seen it yet. :dancingpa

I remember Coach Fields. My dad would take me and watch Fee play in the Maysville gym. I loved to watch them play and do remember Gene Bluford and later got to know him and has been my friend ever since. Also got to know Coach Fields and he was such a good example for young people and and a very good person. Also Remember Slater but never got to know him.:thumb:

Not surprised that MC won by double digits but definitely surprised they won this big
Home court makes a big-big difference, especially with that crowd behind you and no fouls being called. Game was way too rough and we all know that. It seens the way refs call anymore would take all the fun out of playing. :argue:

Greenup County----Randy Ward
If you liked that syle or not he was successfull at what he did. Allot of coaches resemble his style in the 16th now.
Ward's teams were boring to watch--To slow for me.
-
I am not from Mason Co or Brossart but it sure looked like there was a bunch of fouls that were not called. A foul is a foul and should be called. :thumb:

I know you wanted Seniors but I'll just list my team with 5 starters and a bench of 9 which would give me 14 players whice is about right. The players I'd want.
Starters:
G-Jon VanHoose-Russell
G-Preston Knowles-GRC
F-Darius Miller-Mason County
F-Scotty Hopson-UHA
C-Jeffery Brooks-Doss
Bench:
G-Jeremy Anderson-Warren Central
G-Bud Mackey-Scott Co.
G-Ty Proffitt-South Laurel
G-Landon Slone-Paintsville
F-Matt Walls-Scott Co.
F-Steffphon Pettigrew-ETown
F-Twaney Beckman-Ballard
C-Thomas Coleman-JTown
C-Keith Price-Casey Co.
Sorry if I left anyone out.
Freshman:
Aaron Watts
Chad Jackson
Dakota Euton
Tate Cox
Shaq Wilson
Although Robbie Stenzel is only an 8 th grader he would sure fit in with the above frosh. :flame:

Well, based on that, I think I'd pick Coach Wells over Coach Feldhaus. All due respect to what Feldhaus did, he didn't win the big one. How can a coach that had one runner-up team be placed ahead of a coach that won it all?
You could be a great coach without winning the big one. Winning the big one is usually based on a little luck and a lot of talent. Luck could be the best boy from the opposing team getting injured .I've known some excellent coaches that never ever made it to the state tournament. Pick the best coach that you think is in college basketball today and see if they win it all. You will be wrong .

Their fans should be fat cause they sure get a lot of home cooking.:dancingpa
