I'm sure Billy G will get one more year, but out of those in the poll I doubt any of them leave their programs for Kentucky.
-
Notre Dame 77-66.
-
For UK's sake, I hope he is gone.
-
Shocked Kentucky won this one.
-
Wow, first time I have heard that. I thought he was the whole SHelby Valley team myself and quite honestly, I'd say that his shooting percentage for the tourney was good as well. He gave Ethan Faulkner fits from time to time and he made shot after shot to keep his team in the game when needed. Not to knock Shelby Valley, but if you put some big time talent around this kid he will make it a great team. IMO.
Don't get me wrong, I love Jarrod Polson's game and he is a spectacular point guard, but Justice is a great point guard as well.
He shot 9-28 against Elliot County.
-
Apparently you know enough to realize that Harden is better than Meeks. :thumb:

Along with Elisha justice and Garret Polson, two point guards that are truly a treat to watch.
Justice just didn't really impress me to much down at Rupp. He did have high scoring games, but look at the number of shots he took. Polson on the other hand had a great tournament and I enjoyed seeing him play.
-
I see Knipp leaving which will hurt them even worse. Elliot will struggle for sure.
-
Elliot has the better shooters.
Elliot has the better transition game.
Elliot plays the better defense.
Central would have the better strength down low.
Central has the better and deeper bench.
The coaching side would be about even.
I would take Elliot by about 8-12 points honestly.
-
Wow I completely forgot about him!! I knew when I started this list I'd see a bunch of players that would slip my mind!
I know I am leaving out a load of talented kids who have slipped mine as well.

1. 2007 Scott County
2. 2003 Mason County
3. 2002 Lex Catholic
4. 2006 Jeffersontown
5. 2009 Holmes
6. 2004 Warren Central
7. 2000 E'Town
8. 2008 Mason County
9. 2005 South Laurel
10. 2001 Lafayette

That list looks good.

In no order because it's hard to put them in order.
A.J. Slaughter
Chris Lofton
Bud Mackey
Scotty Hopson
Shelvin Mack
Darius Miller
Dominic Tilford
Jon Ferguson
Steff Pettigrew
O.J. Mayo(Even though he played for such a little time)
-
Pittman and Ricardo Johnson should headline the list.
-
Ethan Faulkner was incredible in all three games for Elliott, but Russ Middleton had the most impressive game of the tournament in Mason County's loss to Shelby Valley.
I wouldn't say the most impressive, even though I believe he had all 12 of his teams points in the 1st quarter. His was a top performance, but Pittman's on Elliot, and Ferguson's on Anderson were both nice. Also Dowe from Eastern had a huge game.

Surrrrrrrrrrrrrre.
How laughable is it really to say a guy on the 2nd team All-America may be better than a guy on the first team?
Well here just let me name the games I did see of Harden.
Baylor, Cal, USC twice, UCLA, Washington twice, Oregon, BYU, Washington State, Arizona, Temple, and Syracuse.
That's 14 times I saw him play, and a lot more of highlights and clips of games. I have followed him all year long from day 1, trust me. Either way if you do or don't is fine with me :thumb:
If you think Harden is clearly better than Meeks your mistaken, or simply stirring the pot...No, I don't believe I am mistaken. Meeks has the edge in the shooting department, but other than that he has nothing on him. But then again this is just me talking, what do I know.
-
So did Tubby, never even lost in the 1st round. UK fans were very quick to point out that wasn't good enough though.
If you can't win 35 games a year, sweep Florida, Vandy, and Tennessee, then win a title at least every other year, your just not good enough for Kentucky.
-
Justice showed me nothing at the state tournament. He was 9 for 28 in the Elliot Co. game. He is a solid high school PG for sure, not a big time D-1 PG for a team like Kentucky.
Pittman and Ricardo are the 2 I would go heavy at. Those 2 have so much upside and potential it's not even funny. Those would be the big 2 for me.
Sanford had an OK tournament, he has to ability to go off at anytime, then again he can go so cold it doesn't even look like he is there.
Chad Jackson would be on this list as well. He has a lot of potential on him, and a very nice game. I would love for Kentucky to trade out Euton and Jackson, that would be a HUGE pickup for them especially letting go of Euton.
-
Ford had a great first year at OK. State, and I thought he should have been on the list way ahead of Billy G. I like Ford a lot and I think he is a fine coach and he will continue to get better. I believe UK could look into picking Ford up, if not this year then see what he does next year.

Great game to watch. Williams was a beast for the Cards.
-
Coming from a guy who has probably seen him play three, maybe four times.
Nope, much more than that. Nice try though :thumb:
-
Without a doubt laid an egg in the Big Dance, but he's still the best SG in the country...
I agree. 2 bad games means nothing. I do understand it's the worst time to do so, but most of you people watched him for probably the very first time in those 2 games. As for those saying Meeks over Harden....................
-
I really like the Zags pick.:thumb: A player somewhat overlooked for them is Micah Downs.
I agree, and Austin Day.
My Final 4..
UNC, Pitt, UConn, Louisville
Louisville vs Carolina

Okay, I was having a look at the Ken Pomeroy numbers and decided to apply that to the possible picking of a new coach at Kentucky. I only looked at the 2008-09 season, so if somebody wants to go in and whittle the numbers down by looking at other years, be my guest.
Considering that over the last two years people have complained about UK inability on both offense and defense, I looked at the Adjusted Offense Rank and Adjusted Defense Rank. I took the list of every team that finished ahead of Kentucky in offense, which was 91 teams. Of those 91, I picked out those that also finished ahead of Kentucky in defense. That narrowed the final number down to 12. Here they are, in alphabetical order...
Mike Anderson - Missouri
Jim Boylen - Utah
John Calipari - Memphis
Mark Few - Gonzaga
Tim Floyd - Southern California
Dino Guadio - Wake Forest
Tom Izzo - Michigan State
Sean Miller - Xavier
Matt Painter - Purdue
Rick Pitino - Louisville
Lorenzo Romar - Washington
Dave Rose - Brigham Young
It's certainly an interesting list. The question is, who do you want? Who's in your top three? What order? Who wouldn't come? Who would?
Those would be my top 2.
Calipari to UK?

Why would he want to leave Memphis when he gets 30 wins a year, and has been to what, 4 straight Sweet 16 appearances? If he has a 20-24 win season down there, people don't call for his head. He recruits great kids, it's a great atmosphere, and I would really call it a dumb move on his part to go away from that. But you know what they say, money talks.
