The KHSAA is not perfect, nor is our legal system, that is the reason that we have an appeals process. There must be rules and regulations in place or what is there to stop athletes from jumping from school to school if there is a disagreement with a coach on playing time or anything else for that matter. Lets say for example what if Corbin’s quarterback was injured next week, and because Corbin is a larger more visible school as far as college recruiting goes, Williamsburg or Whitley County’s quarterback decides to which schools and take advantage of the open position? Should it be okay as long as the parents claim to be separated and one rents an apartment in Corbin? I am not saying that this is the case with the Patrick issue, I do not know all the facts, I am only giving an example of a possible situation that would require the KHSAA to deny a players eligibility. Not every move is black and white; there are sometimes gray areas that are not public knowledge.

How is that possible? Aren't there specific rules rules pertaining to transferring schools? Sounds like a bit of good luck for Williamsburg.

Rumor is that Mark Camparoni (Not sure of the spelling) from Whitley County is now a Williamsburg Yellow Jacket. Has anyone heard this one? If true, then he would be a asset to next years team. I also heard that next years team may be down a few players. What's up?

What about Manns & Wilson from Corbin? Both of these players showed great potential last year IMO. Good to see someone from Williamsburg on your list. Heard that Teague was 6'8 and only 15? Steven Taylor from Williamsburg looked good last year also.

I heard a rumor that in order to coach a high school team in the 13th District that you must also be hired as a teacher. Has anyone heard about this? If this is true, what will it mean for schools like Williamsburg, Corbin, and Whitley who have coaches that are not in the classroom?

That would be great. It would be good to see a local boy do well.

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not a disgruntled parent, just a disgruntled fan. If you disagree with anything a coach does then everyone brings out the old "coach knows best" and "disgruntled parent" excuse. Sometimes, coaches make bad decisions. Period.

Williamsburgs team had a lot of potential this year that was not used. You guys played players out of positions and lived & died witha defense that did not work. Look back at your stats. Errors were rampant in every game and they were usually the same errors. The wins against Middlesboro and Paintsville were won by shear luck. Pitching and timely hitting won those games. Not your defense. In games where the defense needed to step up, they didn't and the game was lost. I heard that several of the teams better players were not going to be back again next year. Many parents are concerned that the baseball program is moving in the same direction as Williamsburgs basketball program did several years ago. Some of the best players will be walking the halls or playing other sports instead of playing on the field. How can a coach stay and coach a team when he has for the most part lost the respect of most of his team? I hope everything works out for the best, It would be a shame to see Williamsburg loose some good players because of all that went on this year.

Corbin played well. I wish that I could say the same for Williamsburg. They seemed to once again be plagued with errors and bad positioning. The Jackets have a talented group of players. I was sorry to see their season end in this fashion. Best of luck to them next year and Best of luck to the Redhounds tonight.

Does anyone know of any summer baseball showcases? When and Where?

Does anyone know of a 16 & under or an 18 & under Summer ball league that needs some players? Can anyone give me the name of someone that I could contact? I have a 16yrd. old grandson wanting to play summer ball.

5 errors? Little hitting? What happened? Williamsburg has some very talented athletes. I expected them to go much further in this tournament. Sorry for the loss. Better luck at District.

When are the rest of the Regional finals scheduled to be played? Are there different pitching rules for the State Tournament?

KC has the ability to take down any team in my perspective, especially with scalf on the mound. I heard that Gambrel kid is not that bad of a closer. I heard he is throwing in the 80's.

I dont that that play at the plate is what lost the game for you guys. If you are meaning the play where Moses threw the guy out from center. Williamburg's catcher had the plate blocked and the runner never got to it. Harlen did however give this game away. When you are up by 5 runs and your ace in on the mound then you should be able to finish. Williamsburg has a way of coming up with the big plays when they need them. Dont tae anything away from either team, they both played a solid game and I look foreward to watching Williamsburg and Paintsville play.

Do you think knox can come out with a big district win tuesday? game is at knox! April 24th. Scalf will more than likely to be on the mound, which knox is a big threat when he is on the rubber
