  1. Brad Durham isn't out. He's just fine. But yes, it is nice to have him run block. With Brad being 6'5" and Dusty Miller being about 5'5" it's like driving a Honda through a hole in a wall that a semi truck just went through. The injured lineman was #62 (I can't remember his name). Brad is #74. You'll know Brad if you see him. He's almost a whole head taller than the rest of the team. But I've heard that #62 could be our next big lineman to play somewhere. Probably not Loserville though.
  2. Exactly. My wife was asleep when the game went off and she woke up for a little bit to feed our son. I had a huge smile and did my happy dance. I explained to her how the football gods were not happy. She's a halfway football fan. She'll go to games, but doesn't really know much of what is going on. She's angry about the whole thing too. She knows Brad and his mom and also agrees that they are good people and it was wrong.
  3. Are you serious? That's not sarcasm is it? Most people around here call it Loserville. I think you would be surprised at the fan base that they built up here simply because of Brad. Even I was starting to cheer for their football team......until.....ya know. So they clearly lost fans. Maybe not massive numbers, but some.
  4. Are you sure about the torn mcl on #62? I hadn't heard an injury report yet, but he was walking on the sideline after the injury with an ice pack and a limp. I was assuming he would let it heal for a couple of days and be fine. Also, I don't believe Miller is hurt no more than any other RB that has carried as much as him. Also, about #62, I've heard rumor that he could be the next player from the Rock to play college ball. But that's just heresay.
  5. On offense he plays tackle. I'm pretty sure he'll switch from left to right. So it doesn't matter what side of the line he's on. I'm wanting to say that he plays tackle a lot on defense. Perhaps some DE as well. I could be wrong. Loserville was going to use him as an offensive tackle.
  6. I agree with 3wishes on the attendance. Rock set the 3A attendance record for the state game in 2001. I'm sure it will be shoulder to shoulder. Just an interesting observation that I've made. It doesn't really mean much, but here goes. Not counting the two out of state teams that JC played, the 8 in state teams they played were something like 36-44. The team from WV at one time was like 1-5. But I didn't count them. The 10 teams that Rock played were 50-50. That's counting 0-10 Bourbon Co. and 1-9 PCC. If you take those away, Rock's opponents were 49-31. A much better percentage than JC's schedule. But like I said, it doesn't really mean much. I'm excited about this one. It should be smashmouth football at its best. Of course I'm picking the Rock to win. But I always pick them.
  7. My bad. I must have been in a coma or something. I wasn't aware that I said it was ok for players to taunt. I thought what I said was pretty clear. So let me try to explain it a little better for you. Many of the posts on here have talked bad about our players for taunting, almost making it sound like they're dirty players. All I'm saying is, don't be so quick to judge them. I don't recall any other games this year in which we had players taunting. However, Bell does the same thing. So if you're going to talk bad about us, you need to look in the mirror, because you all have been known to do it to. Remember, everytime you point your finger, three more are pointing back at you. Think about it. As far as coach Hilton, my point was that there should have at least been a bench warning for the way he was acting. I haven't seen overacting like that since David Carusso in CSI: Miami. Have you ever seen coach Larkey do that? NO!!! You have not. Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing very many coaches at all doing something like that. And certainly not getting away with it.
  8. TomLandry So.....are you complaining about the officials or what? I don't see how you can, considering that you said it happens on Log Mountain too. I agree, it does happen there. There was a lot of complaints after last year's regular season game up there at the end when Bell scored to take the lead. Many people that were there said there was no way the RB got across the line. I've even heard you can clearly see it on tape. I also heard last night that on Coach Hilton's radio show he made a comment something like, everything that Rockcastle football is, they learned from Bell Co. Is that true? I think what the earlier post about him jumping around was intending to state was that any other coach would've gotten a flag thrown. The way he ran out on the field, threw his clip board, went to his knees, flung his arms around and ran down the sideline was uncalled for. Sure he was upset. That's fine. But the way he acted AT LEAST should have gotten a warning. But no, nothing was said. The officials just turned their heads and looked away. I won't even mention what he did after the playoff game last year at Bell to one of our assistant coaches.
  9. I have a question about a penalty and I need somebody to help me. I've been watching football for over 15 years, as has my best friend. We couldn't figure this out, nor could a 35+ year old friend of mine setting in front of us. The play in question was from the Round 1 game between Clay Co and Rockcastle Co. Rock had the ball and called a running play. Dusty Miller picked up 10-15 yards and was tackled. The Tigers defenders was giving him a little extra hitting after they tackled him and a flag was thrown. After the officials talked, the referee signaled to the booth two penalties. He signaled "pass interference Clay Co. Personal foul Clay Co." Ok, I understand the personal foul. What I don't understand is how can you have pass interference on a running play. It wasn't a trick play. It was just a toss left. The second strange thing was that the official that threw the flag on the personal foul didn't throw it until Miller had been tackled. Why wouldn't he have thrown it earlier if there was pass interference.
  10. LMB I honestly don't remember the first sack. I very well could've been talking to my wife or a friend of mine that was setting behind me. I don't deny that it happened. But come on. It's football. It's Rock vs. Bell. I'm 27 and I have trouble controlling my emotions. I'm not a 15-17 year old kid in the playoffs against our biggest rival. I'm sure it's even harder for them to control emotions. Surely you're not saying the Bell has never had a player do that. Anyway, I'm still claiming that it wasn't pass interference. It was a bang-bang play. I thought the defender got there at the same time. It could have looked worse since the defender, if I remember correctly, was Shawn Childress who is a very large DB. And when he hit the receiver, who wasn't bracing himself because he was trying to make the catch, he took the worst end of the hit and made it look worse than it was. I'm sure that both teams did some things that should have been called and got away with, and some things that should've been called and wasn't.
  11. I have a question for the Louisville defenders. Many of you claim that this sort of thing happens all the time, 50 times a year or more. So I ask you, if that is the case, why is there just one thread on here about it. It happens many times a year right? Then why just one thread? Also, if it happens so much, why did all the news stations in Lexington run a story about them pulling the offer this past week? Why did the Lexington Herald Leader have a big write-up in it this week about it? The way that they are acting, this is a rare occurance. If it happens as much as you all try to make it seem, then it would seem like nobody would give it a second thought. But that's not the way it is. So apparently it is a big deal and doesn't happen as often as you would try to have us believe.
  12. What I would like to see happen would be if the NCAA "told" Louisville that they were going to play in the Fiesta Bowl for the championship. Then let Louisville practice in early December for a few weeks and then have somebody in the mail room call Petrino and tell them that they changed their minds, that Louisville just didn't fit with the type of championship game that they were going for. That would be fair. That's part of life. After all, according to the Louisville defenders, college football is a business. This would be a business decision. Maybe another school would travel better or get better ratings. That would be the same thing as what they did to Brad. And I picked a mail room worker to compare the way that Petrino didn't make the call, he had somebody else do it. Of course I know this won't happen. As bad as I disagree with a lot of what the NCAA does, even they wouldn't do something that morally wrong.
  13. I'm a little confused on some things here. Unless high school is very different from the NFL, the defender has a right to the ball as well. That's why they have offensive pass interference. I'm not saying that's what it was. What I am saying is that the defender was going for the ball too and when the two hit, they were both facing back toward the QB and hit shoulder to shoulder. So I don't see how you can strictly say it was defensive. The play about the Bell QB over the line of scrimmage, if 3Wishes says it's on film, I'm going to take his word on it as opposed to somebody saying "well it looked to me...." since they only see it once at normal speed. I don't know if he was or not. From where I was setting, I couldn't see where he was at due to the Rock sideline. About the sacks that we got called for unsportsmanlike conduct, I only saw one. Apparently there were more. I don't know what I was looking at then. But the one I saw was in the 4th and there was never a time that the defender bent over and put his finger in the QB's face. He has his fists closed and pumped his fists. It only looked like he was in his face, because he's a fairly short player.
  14. I've been at most of the games this year and I think it might have been his best game this year. He had at least 2 sacks and several hurries. Not to mention a great job blocking.
  15. I talked to Brad and his parents last night after the game. I wished him luck wherever he went and he replied with "Thanks. We'll go somewhere." So it's anybody's guess. Either he hasn't decided or doesn't want to announce it until after the season is over. I would like to see him at UK. Perhaps his former Rock teammate, Jason Leger, can convince him to go there.
