  1. No line, no offense, no defense. That about sums it up. The coaching staff, as a whole, needs to get on the same page. In the out of season (because they don't need an off season) they need to go back to the basics. These kids don't seem to know how to play sound fundamental football. It seems we only have 2-5 plays in the offensive playbook and they are extremely easy to defend.

This needs to happen from peewee on up. The middle school teams need to consolidate into one team and not have a school team and a yellow jackets team. The varsity coach needs to oversee all of these teams. The peewee kids need to be learning the foundation to what they will be doing in high school.

The coaching staff needs to take a good hard look at what a disservice they have done to these boys this year. We need to take a look at successful programs and see what they are doing that we aren't. When I was in school, my sophomore year we did not win a game and in my senior year, we only lost one. It is possible to turn this around and quickly, but it will take work and dedication. These boys need to want it, badly!!

  2. Does Carroll get alot of Unsportmanlike and personal foul pentalites.

Yes and No, really prior to this game and the game against Spencer Co., they had been much improved in that department. I think the seasons worth of frustrations came out in a bad way tonight. I hope they can turn things around. Some of the calls were a little questionable, but no doubt did they implode and fall apart.

  3. I really dislike the animosity between Carroll and Gallatin fans. I think that Carroll does need to step up and give credit where credit is due. A 6-1 schedule deserves respect, especially from a 2nd year program. I think that Carroll County must persevere, but, in the same respect, quit making excuses. We are really good at that. It seems that we lose only because of injuries, officials, etc., not becuase of ability, plays called or stupid mistakes. Carroll definitely has a reputation of whining a little too much.

That being said, this thread is about Gallatin, and I would gladly take a 6-1 schedule. I think they are building their program the right way.

  4. You really shouldn't be looking forward to a rematch just yet. After all your first round game is with a team that dominated you 29-8 on your home field. I talked with a friend from Trimble last night and sounds to me that Trimble only scored off of Frankfort miscues, and Frankfort came out really flat, well Buckett aleast this year you didn't have to play on a field with grass up to your knees and 6" of standing water.

GC - Do not provide any locker room / bulletin board material. Let your actions speak. Just keep putting up W's.

  5. Really what is your point in calling me out here??? I mean this game went pretty much the way everyone thought it would go. I never once said anything about this game being a dogfight like some people might do...:sssh: :D

There is really not much to talk about in this game, so not much to post. Except I did like the pass Scott Dunn threw for a touchdown early in the game to get the score to 7 to 6 before Beechwood rolled..Its going to take some time but I think Dunn will end up being a very good QB for Ludlow, and now this definitely will help out Ludlow for next year, because they wont go into next year now with an inexperienced QB...

5,899 posts - and your boys on the bad end of a rival game and you are no where to be found. Corner blitz had it right!

  6. As everyone probably knows, I am very biased towards Welch, but I have to disagree that he disappears during the game. I believe he has scored a majority of the points this year even being double and triple teamed, at best. At Spencer County, his name was about the only one that was called on both offense and defense. He is the 3rd leading rusher in class 2a with the season that Carroll has been having. I don't call that disappearing. His physical limitations that he has been experiencing are usually because he is on the field for EVERY play - offense, defense, kickoff and punt return.

This team is just not inspired to win and one player can't make that happen. You can't win when you only score on the big breakout plays. Until there is a solid offense that can score off of drives, it will be very difficult for Carroll to win.

  7. I like the idea coach Buckett! the up downs during the middle of the game my jury is still out on that, but the time i saw it, it worked, so how can u go against it. Todays kids get so caught up in how they look gloves, head/sweat bands, different color socks etc they lose sight of the game.

To whom much is given much is expected!

  8. yes. when you have 3-4 missed tackles on plays that are broken for td's that is how you beat yourself. Spencer RB #21 i believe is Riggs (strong runner) is straight ahead runner, no shuck and jive. We just did not wrap and get proper angles, while attacking high on the pads. that help you understand my point gchs uk9

  9. David Bird runs for 369 yds and is awarded the presitigious "Star of Stars" MVP trophy for the Bedford Bank Bowl. QB Justin Hawkes is the Offensive Player of the Game and LB Jon Ball is the Defensive Player of the game for Trimble.

For Eminence, Nathan Hall is the Defensive Player of the Game and Nelson Hedges is Offensive Player of the Game.

    Way to go, Raiders!:ylsuper:

Give thanks to the line leading the way and making the way. It sure makes it easier when you run behind that big line!
