I guess we all look at teams differently. In my mind the best Trinity team of all, at least prior to the All-Time Greatest this season (soon to be surpassed next season and again the season thereafter) was the one who took the field in 1984 (Carwell and Donnie Gardener, Mike Phiefer, Andy Murray, and many more).
Agreed.

Good post RM. Don't you love it though when the Xaverians are the ones who are proclaiming our greatness the loudest
Way to help keep things in perspective. That is what I have been trying to "preach."
Jim,
With all do respect and a tip of the hat your perspective is way off. I understand that this Rocks team is young and you are trying to help keep the big head in check by playing down their talent, experience, and greatness but most agree as the all the polls indiacate that this Trinity is number one. This is the greatest of all Trinity teams only to be surpassed by next year's team. I am suprised that the Bombers barely escaped with their victory. The only chink in the Shamrock armor that could possibly be found may be in how they respond to this unexpected loss. This group of Rocks is no longer inexperienced after the game with the Bombers. They have now faced some great opponents and have won and by some fluke lost one. This is experienced gained. Lets hear no more of this inexperience gobbledygook.

I'm not sure I can agree on this! I think if you go back the past 5-6 years and look at the OVERALL talent on the team and in-season rankings/results, STX has had the advantage EVERY year yet could only win the title last year when Trinity just was nowhere close to them in talent level. I agree with the comment above that Trinity fans should hope that Glaser has many years left at X.
Now that is funny.

Anyone who is counting the Tigers out of contention for the 6A Championship is simply crazy! They may be struggling right now, but they will eventually have their missing players back, and no one should eschew Glaser because he does produce results. The giant is napping but will be back in the mix. Two weeks from now, I feel we'll have a better idea of the future of this season for the Tigers. Right now, I don't think you can count them out. And to be perfectly candid, the Rocks have a lot of work to do to get to Bowling Green in December. They can't afford to discount the Tigers and they won't.
Have you been to or seen a Trinity game this year? Have you been to or seen a St. Xavier game this year?

Following up with what fatsnbul wrote, there have been years (2005 being one of them) when most everyone felt St. X was quite a bit better than T, and yet T walked away with the trophy in the end. However, I can't seem to recall a recent year when T was thought to have the better squad and St. X beat them...
Last year.

No such thing as a geographical hardship.

Noticing a common theme in your predictions.....

Ok, Ok, St. Xavier might win this game. But with all the talk in Jefferson County about new coaches, D-1 prospects, equalization, and near defeats, what is a fan of a big private school suppose to think these days. :idunno:

33 views and no one disagrees. Nice.
Looking at the thread with the poll, very few disagree with you.

If St. Xavier's game last week was not a falter or collapse, then what is? Playing Male at home is a daunting test for the Tigers. We are not number one in the polls and are not blessed with all the talent and the best team we have ever had only to be surpassed by next years team as Kentucky's undisputed number one team is. The Bulldogs are as especially excited about the game and the impending and overwhelming chance to win this year. It has been a few years since these teams have lined up against each other and if memory serves me correct Male has had the best of it recently. Oh the Tigers will be there and give it their best and possibly, just possibly may escape with a victory.

Just for semantic reasoning, I want to clarify, that we win more.

The Catholics vs. the Christians. Too close to call.
Catholics are Christians too. Holy Cross by one.

4a Logan County (1-3) hosts the 2a Monroe County Falcons (4-0). Monroe County is coming off a sloppy win over 5a Barren County and Logan is coming off a good win over Metcalfe County.
Who wins and why?
What you said. Reason enough.

You must be expecting a number of 1 point decisions based on other prediction threads
All it takes is one....:thumb:
-
Franklin County wins by one over Frankfort in this rivalry game.
-
Christian County by one over Hopkinsville and brag about it until next year.
-
Holy Cross wins by one over Louisville Christian Academy after coming of the DeSales victory.
-
Henry County wins by one over Anderson County on the road.
-
George Rogers remains undefeated after their win by one over Lafayette.
-
Belfry by one over Whiley County. Belfry at home.
-
Sheldon Clark wins by one over Lawrence County. They take it in the fourth quarter.
-
Ryle wins this game over Dixie by one. They are simply the better team and possibly the best in Northern Kentucky.
-
Gotta go with the Scotties. There is something special about this team this year. Glasgow by one over Bardstown.
-
Powell will stay undefeated and win by one over Casey County
With X scoring with 18 seconds left to beat Male is it time to...

I must bring up the obvious that we are discounting teams such as Ballard, Simon Kenton, Ryle and others. However, no teams in 6A are close to the greatness of this most talented and now experienced Trinity team.
