He did a pretty good job at Manual. Seems like Fern Creek is a place you should be able to win there.
I believe if the school turns around and can attract some students, it will go along way in improving the football program.
-
Joe Nichols only out one year from Manual takes Fern Creek Job.

Will the Bengals be on Hyland's schedule next year?
-
It must be costing Trinity a fortune.
-
If they are allowed to attend a school, they should be allowed to participate.
-
Does or does not Kentucky allow out of state students?
-
Not only could they compete, they could beat the Bluebirds. Not only that but their band is better, their dance team is better, their concessions are better, their stadium is better, and the neighborhood is better.........Ha! Ha! Ha!

If we pool our money we can by a coke and share it at the next meeting at Papa John's.

Believe me, if the schools were leading the KHSAA there would be no out of state attendance, let alone athletic participation. They are not just extracurricular activities of the school, they are part of a state institution. As I have stated, they fixed this problem in Ohio years ago.
You perceive this as a problem. The Kentucky school system does not and it is allowed. Therefore you have a qualified student, who should be given every right of every other qualified student.

Did Tackett or anyone on the BOC ever provide a reason for the change?
I believe one of the reasons stated had to do with a more geographically efficient alignment. Who knew we were traveling too far for district games?
-
Very little effect.

This is great! LOL! This thread was created I assume to stroke the ego's of Highlands fans again by seeing themselves in the number one position and another opportunity for them to talk about themselves, but you have really done it this time. The bluebirds will be laying on thier backs with their legs twitching you are petting them so good with this one.

Perhaps it should be taken a step further. Perhaps you should have to live ina state to go to high school in that state. In answer to your question or statement, yes it is great. I think you should have to be a resident of a state to participate in that state's athletic competition. Call me crazy!
I will say again, if a student is qualified to go to a school, enrolled in the school, attending classes at the school, and meets all academic and behavioral standards of the school, he or she should be allowed to participate in the extracurricular activities of the school.
Some time in Kentucky we screwed up when we let the KHSAA lead the schools instead of the schools leading the KHSAA.
-
Scores were closer but 8 divisions. Maybe we need to add 2 classes instead of drop 2.
Why not? Another idea would be to have each district be it own class and the winner of the class be declared the state champion for that distrct/class.

Are the posters here saying that 3A football is so bad, that a team with all the problems Central has listed in this thread can win in a blow out despit all said problems?
-
3A is that bad?
-
Poor stances, poor snap count and motion discipline, obese in multiple positions to the point of tapping a helmet to take yourself out of the game, lining up incorrect, unsportsman celebrations.
All this occurred in the state final?
-
They are a product of six classes. They look very undisiplined and not very good up front. From the look of some of their players, I would also assume they are out of shape at the begining of the season.
What do you mean "undisciplined"?
"Out of shape", how so?
-
I would say 42-7 Highlands. Central looked entirely too undisciplined to compete with the Birds, something that Highlands always takes advantage of.
How do you mean "undisciplined"?
-
You too. Thanks.
-
That was earlier in the season.
-
In Centrals' state title years, they've finished with the following records:
2007: 10-5 (Losses to 6A Manual, 6A Male, 6A St. Xavier, 5A Highlands, 5A Johnson Central)
2008: 11-3 (Losses to 6A Manual, 6A St. Xavier, 5A Highlands)
2010: 9-6 (Losses to 6A Seneca, 6A Ballard, 6A Male, 6A Manual, 6A St. Xavier, 6A PRP)
This year they started the season 1-5 and finished 4-6.
Is their tough out of district schedule the reason they're so good in the postseason? You learn a lot more from a loss than a win. Could this be why Central is so much better than the rest of the 3A competition? The tough losses that allow them to be coached up and ready for the playoffs?
Or is Central simply bigger, faster, stronger, more athletic, and more talented than everyone in 3A, regardless of their schedule?
The answer to all three of your questions is YES.
-
Yes they could compete wih Highlands, no blowout in this mythical matchup.
