  1. The Paintsville team that won it all in 96' was probabily one of the most talented groups ever put together..I'm not a Paintsville fan but you have to give this group a little credit.

JR VanHoose-6'10-Marshall,4 year starter, played in the NBDL, now playing professionally in the IBL for WV.

Craig Ratliff-6'9-Commited to UNC Greensboro, ended up at Pikeville College and started on the team that went to the NAIA Final 4.

Todd Tackett-Kentucky, origionally commited to Clemson then Kentucky offered..He really didn't do anything at UK, but UK is UK.

Josh McKinzie-6'6-Played for Travis Ford at Cambellsville, but realistically was a D-I player..Had a good career at C'Ville.

    ETC.

  2. Not too upset with this one. There are lots of sloppy games around the country. Great performance by Stevenson.

If it's my team... Jasper starts at the point soon.

If i'm Tubby, which i'm not but any way I would start the three freshman(Stevenson,Jasper, and Meeks). When they get in the game the intensity level changes and they do make plays. Also I don't see any of these guys leaving early so why not start them now and give them some experience, and in 2-3years they could but great. They defintly aren't going to play any worse with them in the lineup..JMO

  3. Casey Alsip from Scott County is the best shooter I ever played against. His size kept him from being a big time college player somewhere. Lofton was also amazing.

    1. Casey Alsip

    2. Chris Lofton

    3. Patrick Sparks

    4. Rick Jones

    5. Ronnie Dawn

Those are the best 5 that I have seen play.

I did see Farmer and Houston, but that was in college and the NBA with Houston so I didnt count them.

Didn't Alsop start 2 maybe three years at G-Town when they were top 5 in the NAIA . Talk about talent on those Scott Co. teams in the late 90's early 00's. They had 3 D-I players Hamilton-Marshall,Jones & Hundley-Vandy, And also Alsop who played a big role at G-Town which is technically D-I caliber playing NAIA. They also had #23, I think his name was Harris but I can't recall for sure who probabily could have played D-I, and may have but to my knowledge didn't. But they were stacked from top to bottom.

  4. Missed a chip shot........The long FG attempt is understandable, But with a game this big, you have to put someone in there that can get you some points.
I just hope these missed kicks don't come back to haunt the Cats late in this game, maybe we can get some TDs and build this lead a little in the 2nd half.
  5. To be fair, we almost have to say top 10 instead of top 5.
That sounds good to me, I was thinking the same thing after reading about some of these other players I left out.

1."King" Kelly Coleman-Wayland(Obvious Choice for me)

    2.Chris Loften-Mason Co.

    3.Allan Houston-Ballard

    4.Richie Farmer-Clay County

    5.Rex Chapman-Apollo

    Here's 6-10

    6.Patrick Sparks-Mulenberg North

    7.Rick Jones-Scott County

    8.Ronny Dawn-NCC

    9.Jermey Hall-Allen Central

10.Scott Draud-Highlands..Don't Know alot about him but anyone who averaged 36ppg w/out a 3-point line has to be included.

  6. Scott Draud Averaged over 36 points a game his senior year at Highlands. This was before the three point line and just about all of his shots were bombs from downtown. Best shooter by far that I have ever seen.....
Thats impressive without a doubt, sounds alot like "King" Kelly Coleman, even though Coleman Played way before my time, I've heard stories and seen video clips of him. He averaged 47-48ppg or something like that and alot of times he'd pull up right after crossing the half court line, It was unbelievable. If he had a 3-point line he more than likley have averaged close to 70ppg and thats not exagerating at all. Aldoph Rupp onece said that he was the best HS player he had ever seen. I also heard that he rarley playd a game sober:jump: making it that much more amazing.
  7. Chris Lofton is the best. His range was unmatched. His shot against Lex Cath at Lex Cath in the Fifth-third is the best shot I have ever seen in my life at any level.

One player you are forgetting about is Rick Jones from Scott County. He may have made more clutch three's in a state tournament than anyone.

    Top 5

    1. Chris Lofton- Mason Co.

    2. Richie Farmer- Clay Co.

    3. Allan Houston- Ballard

    4. Rick Jones- Scott Co.

    5. Chris Harrison- Tollesboro

You are right, I forgot about Rick Jones, what about that three he made in the state tournament that won the game for them, that was an amazing shot as well. Wasn't Anthony Epps considered a great shooter coming out of Marion County also?

  8. This kid obviousley has alot of talent and athleticism and can probababily take about anyone of the dribble, he's also quick and a good defender. The reason for this thread is that I'm curious about the colleges recruiting him, I heard from a friend in Western Kentucky that UT-Martin was looking at him but I'm not sure how true this is. Does anyone know what schools are recruiting him and if there are any D-I schools after him, he could be a steal for a D-I school imo..thanks for any information.
