East was 13-16 last year. Drew Johnson had some big games in the District and Regional tournaments, otherwise would have been an early exit. IMO this year's team is much more competitive. Looked good in summer play and against Menifee Co. in the Jack Fultz panorama but will have to be tested against the top regional teams to determine how much improvement over last year.

East returns 3 starters (Drew Johnson, Ryan Seagraves, Tyler Jackson)and sixth man (Kyle Bair) from last years team that made it to the Regional Semi-Finals. Sophomore Colt Barnhill joins them in the starting lineup this year. Strong bench - juniors Devin Kawada and Mark Pemberton will see a lot of playing time. Very athletic team with good size.

Johnothan Vanhoose Evansville (Russell)

Middleton is a very talented player but IMO is not top 10 right now, but could be by the end of the season.

1. Chad Jackson, IMO is the overall most talented player in the region. 2. Johnathan Ferguson, if he learns how to dribble he will have D1s all over him. 3. Dakota Euton, he's tall and he can shoot, nothing else has to be said. 4. Drew Johnson, a close second in athletic ability to Jackson; can score inside and outside; great defensive player. 5. Ethan Faulkner, outstanding guard; on any given night Ethan or Evan can be the best player on the floor. 6. Matt Thomas, good outside shooter and good pull up shot going to the basket. 7. Evan Faulkner, one half of the best backcourt in the region. 8. Tyler Boyles, good shooter and athletic; much improved player. 9. Jacob Sparks, good shooter and strong on the boards. 10. Zach Metz, very strong and a good shooter; makes Bath a contender in the 61st. Collins, Hall, and Knipp all have great potential but are not top 10.

To begin .... the 16th region player rankings are horrible. They left off 2 highly ranked players who are Evan Faulkner from Elliot County and Drew Johnson from East Carter. Here is how the rankings should be. 1.Chad Jackson Rose Hill 2.Dakota Euton Rose Hill 3.Jonathan Ferguson Elliott County 4.Matt Thomas Ashland 5.Ethan Faulkner Elliott County 6.Drew Johnson East Carter 7.Evan Faulkner Elliott County 8.Justin Selby Boyd County 9.Jacob Sparks Raceland 10.Timmy Knipp Elliott County I dont know how whoever wrote this came up with these rankings, obviously they didn't watch much 16th region basketball last year. And Fairview #4??? Maybe the writer should venture outside of Ashland every now and then.

Congrats to Miller, its good to see Kentucky finaly signed some talent from within the state.
