"It's a 120 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, a half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses."

You mean fine the cops after the owners are fined for negligance, right? I feel sorry for the little guy, but my anger is more directed toward the owners irresponsibility.
I was being sarcastic! I own 2 dogs and never in my right mind would I shoot or condone anyone shooting a chihuaha(or however you spell it). Why didn't they call the dog warden or SPCA and put one of those collars on a pole around its neck and haul it away until the owners worked things out?

Anybody know where Galloway goes?

Shouldn't the game warden be called and fine the cops who did this? I mean there is a weight and size limit on these things isn't there?

From what I was told Pilgrim was at least 20 pounds overweight and was enjoying life in Lexington more than his fair share. As I have said on here for a year Matt is a talented kid that could wow you in ways that never translated to actual big time D1 production. Big time talent, small time reality of what it would take to make it happen...
Are you saying he has been training with Mel Turpin?

Who is the coach at Mason?
Stephen Butcher is the coach. He came from Pike Co. Central I believe. I don't know him and have never met him, and I thought a hiring from outside the assistants and 10th Region was a good move, but unlike the boys program, there have numerous coaches and changes over the last 5 or 6 years in the middle school program. Also the boys at the younger levels have a pretty good AAU system in place (though I don't agree with all the AAU stands for anymore) and the girls don't have that established yet. They play some AAU but not on the level of participation and number of years that the boys have.

Chad OchoCinco and Chris Henry to name a few.

He would have left to go to the NBA if there hadn't been a coaching change.

Oh believe me I understand, and It wouldn't hurt me one bit for it to play out the way you have outlined it. My statement was just made based on an article that I read pretty much discussing the same things you have talked about and what I mentioned in my first post was the response. -
The best I could hope for is a Final Four. Too many intangibles to expect them to win it all.

He may be, but hes for sure coming on a basketball scholly and this is coming straight from the family itself. The Hood's mentioned Jon had over 30 full rides on the table, and just the thought of him going to his home school as a walk on or anything other than a scholarship player would be a slight slap in the face.
Yes, I'm sure it would, but being an instate student he would be eligible for a discount or other considerations and as long as he wouldn't have to pay for school and still be on the team I don't see the big deal. Athletic or academic, a free ride is a free ride. And he would be helping the team in the long run.
-
Would Hood be eligible for an academic scholarship, or another form of financial aid a la Marquis Estill? I know he played at least one year and maybe two without an athletic scholarship.

WLEX TV just said according to Rivals.com that Patterson was withdrawing his name from the draft.

Why doesn't UC just build the practice bubble on campus and leave Mike Brown, the Bengals, Paul Brown Stadium out of the equation? UC could schedule some high school games on campus to add revenue, instead of giving it to Mike Brown and the Bengals.

I'm drawing a blank right now, but didn't Kentucky land the Mr. Basketball from Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio and Illinois in one season? Was that when Issel came? Somebody help!
Issel was from Illinois, Derek Hord was Mr. Basketball in Tennessee, I think Grevey won the honors from Ohio.
-
Issel, Pratt, Casey
I think Tom Parker would go that list too.

Issel, Pratt, Casey
They were a very, very close third on my list.

With all the talk of this recruiting class and the 5-star recruits I thought it would be fun and a challenge to list your favorite recruiting class. Now this class currently is ranked on high school and what if's. My No. 1 recruiting class would be the 74-75 class of Robey, Phillips, Givens, Lee. Number 2 would be Grevey, Steele, Connor, Guyette. I know the 96', 97', 98' had good ballplayers, but for having 4 or 5 star recruits they all have their plus and minuses but I'll take these 2 classes over them. IMVHO!

Ankiel might perk the Reds interest since Jocketty is familiar with him, also Nady and Damon. Don't forget that Owings as a full time leftfielder next year is a possibility making a spot in the rotation for Homer. This was brought up by John Fay on Sports Talk this morning.
Mason County Basketball
in KY Girls Basketball (High School)

The Cline's moved from Augusta to Maysville when Lacey was in the 9th or 10th grade. Of course she had been playing varsity a couple of years before they moved. The Litzingers have relatives in Bracken Co. but I don't think they lived their, they have been in Mason Co. as long as I have known them, about 10 years. Coach Butcher, if given 6 or 7 years, imo, can turn things around, but he has got to change the players and parents attitudes toward the progam and get them excited about wanting to play girls basketball at Mason Co. I know I have spoken my piece on here many times about the problems from the previous coach, and no need :deadhorse:, but Paula Buser is to blame for the struggles of Coach Butcher, that and the administration not getting rid of the assistants, and cleaning house altogether and starting anew. I know that this isn't college and assistant coaches can't be hired and fired on a whim, but with the state of the program, they needed to fully go in another direction.
