  1. I keep stats, most games I bring along my lap top. I have in the past used paper also. I tracked girls and boys games. I do it mostly for posting on BGP but also my sons look at them. Sometime the Coaches ask for them if they need them. Yes some people will use them for different and selfish reasons.

I have been asked why do you keep stats and how can you enjoy the game. Well I enjoy keeping them. I may miss some of the game. Its funny how somepeople say its selfish and so on but then are on this site asking for game stats.

  2. Augusta was led by Chris Mofford with 26pts 10 rbs 4 blocks and 2 very nice dunks. He could have dunked more but just layed them in.

Dustin "Shooty" Staggs added 12 points and 10 rbs. Had some very nice steals and assists. Got into foul trouble early.

Shawn White added 10 pts and played a nice game.

  3. Correct. The final of that game is by no means indicative of how good a game it was. For a frshman team to put up 60 and lose speaks well of the opponent. Newport has a nice freshman team. Two other very good games were Walton versus Newport with the Wildcats coming out on top by 4 and the Calvary/Augusta game.

It was a good game. I am not sure of the ages of the other teams. But Augusta started 3 freshmen and the rest were all 8th graders. They will be a fun team to watch grow. They were also missing a couple of players due to the Brossart JV game.

  4. That's a good question?

I always thought intentials where meant to be called if a player grabbed another player without making an attempt for the ball. Like at the end of the game when you're trying to get the opponent to the free throw line. But you never see that called even when players are grabbing each other around the shoulders, WWE style. I thought you had to at least try to make it look like a reach in foul.

Flagrant would constitute physical contact w/o regard to injury.

And technical would be any unsportsmanlike activity that didn't fall into either of the other two categories.

Last night I saw physical contact during a dead ball called an intentional foul, so now I am also confused. Can anyone clarify?

You beat me to this and I agree

  5. I did not make it out to this game. I had a commitment to keep with the Augusta Freshmen team. I hear the Panthers played well the first half but BB defense got the better of them in the second half and forced alot of turnovers. I also heard the BB couldnt miss a shot the second half either.

    Congrats to BB.

Time to regroup for the Panthers.

  6. Dustin " Shooty" Staggs 13 pts 12 rbs

  7. Final on Senior Night. Brossart was down by more than 20 in the first half, came back in the second half to cut it to 15 outscoring Mason County 17-6 in the 3rd quarter, but that's as close as they got it. Mason County says goodbye to their 3 seniors: Cline, Chambers and Litzinger. They will be sorely missed.

    Chambers 23, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks

    Litzinger 16

    Cline 18

    K. Menke 9

    Smith 7

    Queen 2

For anyone that was there, what was the pregame ceremony for the seniors like?

It did not seem like anything overly special. Your typical senior night.

Congrats too these fine young ladies. The times I have got to see them play has been enjoyable.

  8. Augusta was led by Chris Mofford with 25 pts 12 rbs and 7 blks

Dustin "Shooty" Staggs 21 pts 12 rbs

    Ryan Kelsch 14 pts

    Brayde Hamilton 14 pts

Augusta played their hearts out just came up short in the end.

The Panthers tried at times to run with Newport and that was a mistake. When they slowed the pace and played their game they were in it. No points from our guards and 10-19 FT shooting did not help the cause. All in all I was very impressed with the effort from both teams.

    Newport 12 23 12 18 10

    Augusta 15 19 13 18 9
