  1. Well coached and well played game. Hats off to the PA guy for the intro of the players.

Jake did a great job getting people involved. Jolly getting hurt, hurt Scott. I thought Jake could have been more shellfish to get himself going. But in the long run he had his team in a position to win.

Cole is a winner and it showed in the 4th. Struggled getting shots to go down in the third 0-5 I believe. But kept pushing and hit the game winner.

Guess Fro didn't see the 92 UK Duke game. You can't let the inbounder see that much floor to get a good pass off.

That is the MS AD, Aaron Caudill who also came up with the idea of the spotlights for the lineups (he did it last year for girls regional finals).

  2. A bunch of things jump out here...

Once again like the last game they played and wasted time outs by Scott, did Scott have a timeout to call and set the defense and help the kids where to be and who to guard? If not so be it then, coaches fault...

Why make a lay-up and leave so much time left on clock 7 seconds is forever...

Why was No one on the ball out of bounds??

Then this defender then could have been at foul line to take a charge,

not let Cole drive the lane?

Why not double team Cole?? You knew the ball was going to him...

How does Campbell Co. throw the ball In to Mid court??

Why did No Scott players step up for a charge?? If your gonna foul him, foul him hard and make sure he don't make the bucket...Duh...

Why why why don't equal Wins wins wins...

We all could sit here and debate all day long and keep asking why...

I am not sure you were there or not or just watching the video from twitter. Before this play even occurred there was a clock mix up and there was plenty of time to set up anything you wanted without having to call a timeout.

  3. Congrats to the Lady Camels...what a great game to watch, very entertaining. I believe neither team had a lead of more than 5 or 6 points the entire game. The 4th quarter was action packed as CC began bringing pressure. These two teams could meet again to decide the 10th region.

Scott had a 5 point lead at the beginning of the 4th quarter and at one point Campbell County had a 6 point lead somewhere in the 1st quarter. I will say this the last 2 district championship games played by these 2 games have been very entertaining, a little stressful for a fan but great games.

  4. The only reason that it stays in affect is precisely that, the AD's vote on it. Brossart, Calvary & Silver Grove cannot host so they just jump on the bandwagon of having it at the MS while Scott fights an uphill battle playing there each year. And if you still don't see an advantage, check the Boys Basketball Thread: Campbell/Scott Predictions where you can find that the Campbell Boys team is currently practicing before tomorrow nights District Finals. Scott HS was allowed one 1 hour shoot around this past Saturday. I'd say that's an advantage.

I am playing Devil's advocate here and I realize this is the girl's thread but lets say both Scott teams win, are people going to be calling foul? So lets say Scott and CC rotate it every year, hypothetically, where does Scott practice when they are hosting? I am not saying it is right or wrong but asking a question. Scott would play ALL their games in their high school gym where CC plays most of the time 1 a year at the CCMS gym.

  5. Isn't that odd? The "Home" team? But Campbell Co insists it's a "neutral site" year in and year out. Unfair to the other teams IMO.

Actually I would say it is the most neutral site for the district and the ADs vote on it so not sure what the problem is. Besides this year they play 1 game at the MS during the regular season. The girls played a total of 2 other games at CCMS due to band & wrestling conflicts.

  6. Cake walk compared to Mercer's. Of Mercer's 6 losses, 5 were ranked in the top 25... NATIONALLY. The other loss was to Strafford (#1 ranked team in MO). St. John's College (DC) beat us on a last second shot and was later named the #1 team in the country (maxpreps). Mercer has beaten 3 of those teams by an average of 14.6 pts. So to answer the question of "Has anybody played a tougher schedule than CC?" Yes.. Mercer has. To put things into perspective, if I were to make a "Look how tough our schedule is" list.. Campbell Co would not even make the cut. Mercer Co also has officials that single handily give their home team 60 points in a half.

I thought this was a SHA vs Campbell County game thread.
