I dont agree with blanket statements on this thread about quitting. The old tried and true quitters never win and winners never quit.I personally know several kids who have quit or chosen not play over the past few years and I would not classify the majority of them as quitters. The majority of them are quite the contrary.Talk to some of the coaches past players and see what kind of glowing remarks you get.Try it with some of his asstiants. To build and instill character and loyalty you must first have some yourself.

There are alot of posts on this thread that I would like to address. Just let me say since the current Russell bb coach arrived there has been nothing but turmoil. It's time for him to go. A 16th region championship after a severe drought didn't even get the community excited. There have been too many Red Devils either not play or quit. All the "never quit posters" on here apparently dont understand the depth of the problem in Russell.

This doesn't have anything to do with this thread, but i am looking for a little Tomcat history. Can anybody tell me or direct me to a website that shows what kind of basketball the tomcats were playing in the early '80's, particularly the '85-'86 season. Who was coaching then?

The Red Devils do what is necassary to make their first trip to Rupp.Players sometimes win inspite of their coaches.A technical foul for not having a player in the book?!?!come on.That brillant TO with 1.5 seconds left at the end of the first qtr.Genius!!Down 17 we allow the opposing team to make 16 passes, finally deflect it then allow 13 more passes before fouling. The bright lights and big arena are no excuse teams just like Russell go to Rupp every year.To instill heart and character in your team you must have some first.CONGRATS TO THE DEVILS!!!This trip is long overdue!!!! Great bunch of kids. The only downside is now russell is in the same boat as the wildcats.
