  1. It will be on 88.3 FM, the school's radio station. If you are within a 50+ radius, you should be able to pick it up. :thumb:
  2. Professor, I think you hit it right on the head. The Owls proved against Hazard that they can go inside or score outside based on the teams defense. Robert Smith is an outstanding player and he is playing better than he ever has, by being more of a team player, playing very unselfishly. If Robert isn't scoring, you have to watch out for Daniel Neeley and Trey Congleton from the outside. From the inside you have Dustin Wilson, which was the leading scorer against Hazard. Josh Reed is definitely a threat off the bench. Kevin Riley is a young player, getting varsity time since Christmas Break and as you said, he is improving every game. I feel that the Owls are very confident right now and will pull this win off.....but by a slim margin, but as you said, a win is a win.......... :ylsuper:
  3. That sounds wonderful. I think this game will give them a big boost for Wednesday night's All "A" opener against June Buchanan. :dancingpa WTG OWLS!!!!!!
  4. Go Owls!!!
  5. I totally agree with you Professor and anyone that saw the last two games the Owls have played would have to agree also. I have always said that the Owls are not out of the picture come district time.
  6. Yes, I think Robert is a much better player than he was last year. He made a huge mistake last year when he transferred to Clay County. (Something he will probably regret for a long time). Clay County and Owsley are neighbors, but are about as far apart as Kentucky and New York. What I mean is 13th and 14th region play is very different. Also a legendary powerhouse like Clay County with 10+ players that are exceptional on the floor and sitting on the bench ready to play was like a foreign country to Robert and this was hard to handle. Not because I am from Owsley, but I think for him that Robert made a smart move to return to Owsley to finish his high school career and I hope that his talent shines, not only for the Owls but for himself so that some of the colleges may look at this talented player, both in the classroom and on the floor, and see what a prize that they would be getting. I think he deserves it. Good luck Robert and the Owls.....
  7. And I agree, that maybe this thread of conversation needs to be stopped because as you said, it only is adding fuel to the fire.
  8. No, I'm not saying that at all. I am saying that to both sides! I think that everyone needs to look in the mirror and think about what is at stake here, several different children's future.
  9. Yes, there is a conflict between Lee and Owsley and there shouldn't be, but this conflict will probably always be there, because of things that happen, such as the letters that was sent from Lee County to the KHSAA about Robert Smith. But there is one thing that everyone should remember, these are children and what we do will reflect what they do including the lack of sportsmanship in the adults in the crowd last night and in this forum. Sports was set up to teach sportsmanship and teamwork to young adults but it has become an adult ego trip pushing their children to hate others because they are wearing another color and are from another county or another part of town and I think this is very wrong. Yes, Lee County beat Owsley County twice this year and I say congratulations to the Bobcats and wish them luck, but for the adults, you might need to grow up and be role models to your children.
  10. A couple of years ago in a baseball game at Owsley, Robert was hit in the face with a baseball. He has been to the doctor on and off since then and they finally decided that he needed surgery this past summer because of breathing difficulties.
