I prefer when they showcase the random sports as opposed to talking heads.

He's been in obvious poor health for the last couple of years, so this is no shock.
Still, sad to see another great pass away. They're getting fewer and fewer.

This is a good time for me to encourage people to carry flood insurance, even if you're not living in a home designated in the Special Flood Hazard Area. If you aren't in a SFHA, it's much cheaper. We had some residences flood in my hometown this weekend that aren't in the 100 year flood plain because of a drainage issue. Homeowners insurance will not cover that.

I wish Kylo Ren had left his mask on. Seeing Adam Driver's face does not intimidate me.
-
I don't know about the rest of the state, but EKY could really use a break or we are heading towards a serious flood event.

I'm a music nerd, so I've been listening to a lot of Volume on 106.
Other than that, it's Howard, Lithium, or Spectrum.

I saw this on Facebook:
This has been a longstanding thing, but it's even more important now: Next person who tries to tell me "Badmotorfinger" is NOT the best Soundgarden record (and that other, more popular record is) gets the old Fred Sanford five across their lips. Sure, that other album sold more copies, but all you have to do is listen to know.
Badmotorfinger IS the best. Down on the Upside comes in second for me.
I'm not that big of a Superunknown guy, honestly.

Grunge has always been sacred to me. I have no idea why it gets ripped so bad. I too, was at Lolapalooza '92. In one single day, I saw Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Without a doubt, it's the most memorable show I've seen, as these bands were giants-in-the-making.
Alice in Chains will always be my favorite band. Layne Staley's voice cut right through me (enough to bestow the name Layne as my daughter's middle name). Jerry Cantrell is an absolute guitar God to me. But Chris Cornell was the complete package with the guitar and vocals. This guy was so friggin' good and brought it every time. Whether it was Soundgarden, Audioslave or solo, I'll drop whatever I am doing just to listen to him. If you haven't heard any of his live, acoustical sets, you have no idea what you're missing.
I saw him live again, as a solo act, on the Linkin Park tour about 8-9 years ago. His live acoustic set was mesmerizing. I had tears in my eyes listening to him and was moved by emotion - so much that I dropped $40 for a tour shirt. I think I'll have to wear it again this weekend.
There's a live album called "Songbook" where he plays songs from his entire catalogue plus some covers that is a must have if you don't already.

This time last night he was performing. Less than two hours later, he was gone. Did he know he was going to take his own life as he sang? Was he thinking about it onstage? We'll never know those answers with any certainty, but it's weighed on my mind all day.

I caught them in 2012 and thought the show was okay.
My brother went to the Louisville show Tuesday and he thought they were incredible.
Hopefully all of you that do go have a great experience.
-
I got to see Soundgarden when they played Louisville Palace in 2013. He had such an excellent voice.
-
Between Soundgarden, his solo work, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave... Chris Cornell has been one of my favorite musicians since I was a child.
This news is a kick to the gut. My brother told me it's being investigated as a suicide but I've not read any articles so I haven't seen that myself.
Just really sad news all around.

$324 cash and $275 in checks.
Yeah, the Northern Kentucky Softball Coaches Association is in the money laundering business. :lol2:
If you were going to launder money, would you want it to be obvious? :lol2:

As an aside, I'm not sure that last post was coherent. I'm on no sleep. :lol2:

Going back to 1980, these seven teams are responsible for 33 of 37 championships...
Lakers (10)
Bulls (6)
Spurs (5)
Celtics (4)
Pistons (3)
Heat (3)
Rockets (2)
The last 6 years have given us 3 unique champions outside of that bunch in the Cavs, Warriors, and Mavericks. The last time a team outside of the seven above-mentioned won a championship prior to 2011 was the 76ers in 1983!
In a best of 7 series, the better team usually wins. I feel like this conversation comes up annually, but I think the playoffs are fine as-is. The top teams are just that good.

I made a deposit today at Chase for the softball coaches association, they wanted to see my driver's license before they made the deposit......what the heck?????
Was it a cash deposit? If so, it's just another measure becoming standard practice at banks to attempt to prevent money laundering. I think Chase got that ball rolling a few years ago, and others are following suit.

Bojangles. Their spicy chicken tenders are legit. They also have the best biscuits, and their seasoned fries aren't too shabby either.
Chick-Fil-A is my least favorite mentioned. We don't currently have one in Pikeville (under construction on campus), but I'll never eat there once it's done. It's my least favorite place to go when traveling.
Never had Zaxby's so can't say anything about it.
Lee's is definitely underrated.

$1,000 shouldn't have raised any flags. I think the general criteria is a withdrawal of $5,000 or more would require a Suspicious Activity Report to FinCEN, but I don't deal with deposit accounts in my role so not positive on that.
I said Suspicious Activity Report, but I meant Currency Transaction Report. And that threshold is typically $10,000+.

As a banker, people have no idea how much scrutiny the industry is under from the CFPB and other entities. One wrong move can lead to extremely significant civil money penalties.
It's why community banks are a dying breed. They can't keep up with the compliance demands.

Kobe was a shooter/scorer first and was never the passer that LeBron was. Kobe finished his career averaging 4.7 assists a game. MJ finished his career averaging 5.3 assists a game.
How many players finished their career averaging over 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists a game?
Not as many players as one would think.
MJ, Oscar, LeBron, Wilt, Kobe and that is probably it.
Without looking, I'd say you can probably add Elgin Baylor and Jerry West.

DLG 2.0 is going to see the "Style Master" in Nashville in September. :ohbrother:
