I heard that Jerry Perry was being seriously considered for the job. He previously coached at Garrard back in the 90's. He is more than capable to do the job and was well liked.
I could not have said it better!:thumb:

I think Bobby Knight has as good of a shot being named the head coach as some of those mentioned on this post.
????????????????

Cole was terrific in the Jumpers' two victories over the Golden Lions in '07. Best of luck @ Vandy except in that one game each season versus our beloved Wildcats!:thumb:

Pendleton was highly motivated, played very hard, and looked terrific in their late season upset of Garrard. I recall Pettit being the Wildcats only lineman with much size. He was very skilled and showed great leadership on that evening. Congrats and good luck at G-town from Golden Lion country!

...lottsa worthy candidates....don't forget Larry French and the terrific year that Lincoln County enjoyed.

This poor kid is going through heck. He confused and probably a bit scared. Too many of our life decisions are forced on us at such an early age. Grown men and women with years of experience make the wrong decisions. What this young man needs is coaching, not punishment.
Yep! You nailed it!

Thanks for your opinion but every single person who saw the game knows that it was total domination by the Birds. In the heat of the game, the die hard LC fans who live and die with every play probably got caught up in the moment and got carried away by the three scores that came against Highlands' reserves.
I totally agree with your assessment of the LC fans reaction. And why not see it that way if you are a Pat fan? They had a terrific season led by some outstanding seniors. Congrats!
-
I overheard some LC parents that actually believed LC was moving the ball and shutting down the Birds 1st team in the 2nd half. Could anyone that watched the 1st half, seriously believe that? Talk about your rose colored glasses.
I saw the game. IMO it was "no contest". Highlands was clearly a much superior team on that night. The Pats only successes came after the issue was decided and against the Birds' backups.

The Lincoln County @ Highlands game can be heard in central KY on WRNZ 105.1 fm and live on the internet at http://www.hometownlive.net. :thumb:

Wow! Apparently, the Hornets are playing GREAT football at the right time. The win at Greensburg last week made a huge statement. Here's hoping that Metcalfe wins the state title!
-
Metcalfe thumping Green County the way they did.
YEP!!

You can hear the Lincoln County feed at http://www.wpbkfm.com.
Since both Boyle County and Garrard County were eliminated from the playoffs last week, the Lincoln County game will be broadcast live on radio station WRNZ 105.1 fm. The station can be heard throughout southcentral Kentucky. The same call of the game can be heard on the internet at http://www.hometownlive.net.:thumb:

Way 2 go, Hornets!! It's great to see programs with limited past successes achieve as a result of hard work and dedication. Here's wishing MC the very best of luck!:dancingpa

I don't know much about JC, but Lincoln is one terrific defensive football team. The Pats don't figure to score lotsa points, but they give up darn few!
I doubt that JC will win this one.

I had heard after the first game between these two this year that one of the Garrard coaches said on the radio up there that he wasn't really impressed with Somerset this year and that they should have beaten us. Well looks like he will get another shot.
BTW after what happened in the last Wayne/Garrard game I was glad to see Garrard beat them this week.
I'm sure you are trying to motivate your kids on the Somerset team. However, I can assure you that no Garrard coach said anything like that. Somerset won the game in a blowout. Nice try on your part, but think of another more accurate way to inspire the Jumpers (as if they need it). Obviously, Somerset is much the better team. Who knows - any given Friday night?!?

Now that we have six classes and nearly everyone gets in, AND the first round is within the district, was this year's first round of the playoffs the worst ever?
I say yes.
The Garrard@Wayne game was a terrific HS football game - very entertaining and exciting for the fans of both teams. However, I agree. Bring back the "sister district" playoff brackets. Let's see some different teams and game sites from those of the reg season.:thumb:

Watch out for Mercer in lincoln game
i agree, give the titans a good shot @ this one. lincoln won 12-7 in reg season

EJ Fields from Frankfort can play with anybody in the state!
Absolutely!
-
I heard a passing reference on WLAP-630 on Sunday morning that a Frankfort player ( E.J. Fields) committed to UK on Saturday evening. Anyone know if that is true? He's a great athlete and has tremendous potential as a D1 safety.

The "can't tell" ratings in the Herald give PC no respect at all. They are very underrated there. The C-J's Lit ratings seem to have a better understanding of the Maroon's strength. Muse and Hines can fly! Lincoln has played a better schedule, has more weapons (although not as good as Muse and Hines)
and more balance on offense, and LC's DEFENSE is awesome. Low scoring game with Lincoln winning 12-7.
Garrard County Coaching Situation

It's all a moot point. Garrard AD, Jim Freeman, told Larry Vaught of the Danville A-M that the next coach must have head coaching experience. Coop does not have that.:argue:
