  1. I don’t know if you’re in the new or used market, but personally I would look more at Apex CF16 instead of the steelhead XRs. The Steelheads are fine but my only issue with that category of clubs is the distances aren’t as consistent. They are trying to get maximum distance from the clubs. So you would definitely hit them further than your Mizunos, but what good is hitting one less club when on one swing it can carry 160 and the next swing carry 165 with basically the same swing. That’s just been my experience with clubs like steelhead, etc. Personally for anyone that wants a more game improvement style clubhead I always lean towards Ping. For the value and the quality of the clubs are second to none in that category. They last forever, Ping has the best customer service in the industry, and the clubs will do exactly what you want them to do. Anything in the G or I lines 25 and up besides iBlade will offer plenty of forgiveness while not sacrificing any consistency.

So I went to Dicks on my lunch and hit a few. Hit the Ping G400, Taylormade M2 and M4. I hit the M2 better than the other two and the Ping was 3rd of the three. I was catching the M4 low on the face but the ones I hit right ended up pretty similar to the M2. I was just more consistent with the M2. I tried a stiff and regular flex shaft in both the G400 and M4 however they only had a regular flex in the M2.

Thanks my man. I'll check out the pings.

  3. What is your goal for getting new irons?

Get better? :lol2: Seriously, looking for something more forgiving. I currently have a set of Mizuno and you pay for mi***Word Filter Violation - Edit Your Post******Word Filter Violation - Edit Your Post******Word Filter Violation - Edit Your Post******Word Filter Violation - Edit Your Post***s.

  4. Thinking about getting new irons this year. I'm leaning towards the Callaway Steelhead XR's but getting tough to find since they are last years models. I'm going to have to make a decision or move on to a different option.

Anyone play these irons? If so what are your thoughts?

  5. I've read good reviews on one made by Brio.

I use a full size pair of clippers for length but an old pair of small Wahl trimmers for edging. If they crap out I will likely buy the Brio for edging and shaping.

  6. Actually I think Easton makes both Beman and Cabelas arrows. I found that out a couple days ago when researching arrows.

Easton bought Beman back in the 90's I believe but wasn't sure if they made them in the same factory.

  7. I did go with the cabelas stalker extreme. I shot them a little this afternoon and they definitely fly better than the arrows I was shooting.

Do you know if Bemen still makes Cabelas arrows? I believe Carbon Express makes Bass Pros and didn’t know if anything changed when BPS bought Cabelas.

  8. Mine has the standard 4" that came on it and I've always wondered if it really did anything.

It would be better than nothing but in the grand scheme it's not doing much. The purpose of a stab is to make the bow hold on target better. Most bows are top heavy to start. Then we add sights and quivers to the top half of the bow and on one side (same side) which makes the bow more top heavy and also side heavy and really unbalanced. Good stabilizers have the ability to add weights to make them heavier and lighter. They also have the weights towards the end which really helps to bring the weight distribution into balance. A lot of guys (all target archers) add side bars to the side/rear on the opposite side from the sight and quiver. I see more and more doing this on hunting rigs because the newer bows seem to really be balanced funky.

Put it this way, Levi Morgan who is one of the best target archers in the world runs a front and rear/side bar on his hunting bows. I'm guessing that dude knows more about it than 99% of population so there must be something to it.

  9. I currently don't have one and to be honest it's probably been a mistake. I will be getting one this year and leaning towards a Bee Micro Hex in 8" or 10".

IMO, 4" isn't long or heavy enough to do what a stab is designed to do so unless you are using it for vibration reduction only then it's pretty useless. I think most would be very surprised at how a proper stabilizer will change the way you shoot. It's one of those things that you don't realize what you were missing until you try it.

  10. Down side to a single pin sight is if you range the animal, adjust your sight, then it moves before you can shoot you will have to adjust again. Not a huge deal but just something else to worry about.

The future is the new sights with built in range finders. Really expensive right now but would guess cost will come down in the future.

  11. Henderson's Gleaner use to be a pretty good smaller town paper. When they were bought out years ago it went downhill quick. Today it's garbage. Anything that happens after about 8:00PM isn't even in the next day's edition. They print the paper in Louisville so the deadline is really early. They've reduced the size and content on top of that. You can't cut services, increasing pricing and expect people to keep paying.

  12. Last night...

    Weightlifting

Every 90 second for 15 minutes (10 sets)

    1 Power Clean + 1 Split Jerk

Build in weight each set, last set should be heavy

    Metcon

    For Time:

    21-15-9

    Shoulder-to-Overhead (115#/75#)

    Toes-to-Bar

    Rest 4 minutes then do...

    12-9-6

    Alternating Dumbbell Snatches (70/50)

    Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups

I scaled the weight to 95# on the S2O and 50# dumbbell on the snatches.

  13. Last night...

    Metcon

    Against a 3-minute running clock:

    30/20 Calorie Row or Ski-Erg

Max Calorie Bike in Remaining Time

Rest 2 minutes and repeat for TWO TOTAL SETS.

When the running clock reaches 10:00...

    Against a 2-minute running clock:

    20/15 Calorie Row or Ski-Erg

Max Calorie Bike in Remaining Time

Rest 90 seconds and repeat for THREE TOTAL SETS.

When the running clock reaches 20:30...

    Against a 60-second running clock:

    15/10 Calorie Row or Ski-Erg

Max Calorie Bike in Remaining Time

Rest 60 seconds and repeat for FOUR TOTAL SETS.

  14. Today (I haven't done it yet):

20 Minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible):

    24 Burpees

12 Lunges with an overhead barbell (I am guessing weight will be 95 pounds for males).

    6 Power snatches

    3 Rope climbs

The rope climbs will kill me. I should be OK with this rest.

Good luck. The overhead lunges would get me.

  15. It hit squarely in the hands. He catches that ball 99.9% of the time.

No defending Brady's play? He was lights out when it mattered. He played very well. Stop being irrational and letting your hatred for him and the Pats cloud your judgement.

I mean, Brady wasn't lights out most of the game yesterday but still had 348 yds and went 30-46. If not for the really bad pick in the endzone he had a good day. Plus he was absolutely money on the last drive in regulation and in overtime. Yes, maybe he had an off day by Brady standards but to say he was bad is insane.

  16. You don’t watch enough football if you think one pick play not being called is in anyway equivalent to that roughing call. Watching tape there are probably 5 pick plays a game that don’t get called. Its not hate. It’s calling it how I see it. Nobody else gets that call. Pick plays get missed in every single game. But when a ref interjects themselves into a game by making a bogus roughing call is where I have an issue. Both should have been called, only one was out of the ordinary. I don’t expect the officials to throw flags every pick play. I expect the refs to not make up an imaginary roughing call.
If you don't know that missed roughing the passer calls happen just about every game then you don't watch enough football. The fact you keep saying only Brady gets that call tells me I'm wasting my time discussing this with you.
  17. Pick plays get missed all the time. Bogus roughing calls only get called for Brady. That’s why people get so upset about it. Everyone runs pick plays. Sometimes they get called, sometimes they don’t. Pick plays are an epidemic in the league that they need to figure out how to enforce. That roughing call was GARBAGE.
I’m not even sure how to respond to this. Like I said the hate is real and apparently blinding
