  1. Deuce Deuce...

Ask the UL players what their meeting was like two days after the T-Will/Jerry Smith/Edgar Sosa Weekend of Cardopoolooza.

Ask them to explain to you what Pitino said they were and what he would do to them.

Cursing is a part of it...not many coaches will tell you they like to do it...I dont like it, but it is a part of the game.

    Mountain meet molehill.

Labs, labs...That wasn't published in a paper. We all know you like to exercise your sources, but whatever Ricky P did wasn't published in the Courier. Not to mention, the scenario you're referring to is a little different from laughing on the bench. Like I said, regardless of coach, if that kind of info gets to the public, it should be addressed. It's disrespectful, and if continuous should be acted upon.

  2. I fail to see the difference.

It's hard to explain without being able to give examples...

If a coach says, "Get your butt in gear!" (obviously replacing 'butt' with a profanity), and another coach tears a kid apart using profane language, telling him how much he makes him sick, you consider those to be the same situation? I think if you were the one in the players position you might not think so.

  3. "Allegations that you cussed one of your players and told him you were sick of him may be an issue that at least needs to be addressed."

That is what you said, how did I spin anything?

Because we're discussing two different situations. Pitino using profanity in practice or games and Gillispie cussing out one of his players is completely different...Swap the names, swap the teams, my opinion is the same.

  4. What do you think should happen to a coach that disrespects kids?

If it's a continuous problem, he should be reprimanded in some fashion, IMO, regardless of the coach. I understand in the great big scheme of things College Basketball is all about the money, and if the coach wins, most people will let many things go. Call me crazy, but I'd like for my coach to win games AND be able to be respectful to his kids.

  5. Why should a coach air dirty laundry to the media? Has Pitino been forthright in why Derek Caracter hasn't seen the court as much early in the season? No because It's an inhouse matter. I don't know of many coaches that go into any detail about why players are dismissed. "Violation of Team Rules" "Academics" "Personal reasons" Rarely, much else is said by the coach.

And we're talking about a WALK-ON here. I'm failing to see the big deal on this one.

Well he can either discuss it, or when stories like this surface, he has to take the heat for it. If people believe the players side of it, I don't really see how anybody defending the coach can fault them.

  6. So, as a UL fan 2, do you think Pitino ever curses at his players?

Cursing at your players, and cussing them out telling them you are sick of them as you kick them off the team for laughing at someone tripping are two TOTALLY different things. I don't have a problem with a coach using profanity, but if Mills' account of the meeting is accurate, BCG was very disrespectful and that behavior is unacceptable for a College Basketball coach...Nice attempt at a spin though, OR. :thumb:

  7. So, Bradley gets hit, the players jump up off the bench and Williams starts to charge out on the floor. Occurring 1-2 seconds after Bradley is hit, Mills is supposed to realize that Bradley is hurt and when all 5'8" of him makes a huge man like Williams trip, he is not supposed to smile and have a little laugh.

Remember this entire scenario probably happened in a 20 second span. If that.

So a kid gets kicked off for a 20-second span.

If this scenario is the only incident, it seems more likely that BCG needed to set his dominance on the team and make an example of the walk on which has little effect on the actual play of the team on the floor OR (the choice I would choose based on the comments of the HS coach) actions like this are a common thing and BCG tired of Mills' little stupid game said enough with it.

    :thumb::thumb::thumb:

  8. I'm not defending anyone. I'm saying that we have heard Mills' story and nothing more. Of course he's going to say its all BCG's fault. I don't think the story is fair because it is all one sided - but then again, what do we expect from the mighty Lexington Herald Leader?

As lbbc said, it's kind of hard to have both sides when one side won't talk.

  9. I fault BCG for not being a little more media loving and savy, but until the storm passes over, I would not expect him to get in to a "he said, she said" middle school argument through the newspaper or internet. I would actually be disappointed if he did resort to that.

I understand your point, and to a certain extent agree. But allegations that you cussed one of your players and told him you were sick of him may be an issue that at least needs to be addressed IMO.

  10. Actually, its obvious that we have only heard how Mr. Mills wants to paint the picture. We haven't heard both sides of the story. Its also obvious that the UK haters would like to pile on and try to make it a little worse than what it actually is. Surprise, surprise.:thumb:

Maybe if your beloved coach was a bit more professional and actually talked to the media, you wouldn't have to guess what happened. And if the UK haters are piling on, the UK homers are defending the situation with no basis to do so. Surprise, surprise. :thumb:

  11. I don't think Julia is faking. And about Eden asking for help. IMO she knew (or at least thought) Julia would tell everyone that Eden shot her, and Eden would be toast. So Im sure she was going to con her mother into believing another one of her lies.

  12. No, but how about we have the players pay attention to the game instead of talking to one another about other things.

Yes you can laugh but there is a time and place for that. Same thing with baseball, how about we have a little less sunflower-seed spitting contests, and a little more paying attention to your teammates on the field.

Exactly what happened in that situation. I'm not just trying to pick on Mills because I know a lot of other people do it too, but you never see Crawford or Bradley (when he's actually on the bench) laughing it up on the bench in tight games or even when you're getting blown out. There is a time and place and players should already know that. When it's gametime and you step on that court your sole focus should be on that game and not be about what time the party is, what you're doing this weekend..etc

Laughing for a guy tripping on his way back to his seat is NOT grounds for dismissal from a team. And again, why wait until after the Vandy game? Was BCG's arrogant pride hurt so much he had to take it out on a walk-on? It's obvious BCG has some issues with how he handles his players, and this is a perfect example.

  13. "Mills, an end-of-the-bench fan favorite from Noblesville, Ind., said he and Williams laughed because of what happened after a Dave Bliss foul flattened Bradley. Perhaps recalling Gillispie’s irritation that no one helped a UK player confronted by Houston players earlier in the season, a teammate left the bench to head toward Bradley at the other end of the court. Thinking of a possible technical foul, Mills played peacemaker by grabbing the teammate and steering him back to the bench. Mills and Williams laughed at the thought of a 5-foot-8 freshman taking charge of a much larger teammate. Adding to the effect, the teammate stumbled on the return trip."

Man, if somebody did that on my team, they wouldn't even make it back to the bus....

  14. I've read some rumors about the show... and it said that in "Season 5" one of the more important characters may die. And you know Nip Tuck is never as it seems so I'm thinking maybe "person" who everybody is thinking might die lives and "person" who dies was who had just left the room to go get something for the surgery...If not then how did crazy lady get passed such "person"?

If that makes since. I kind of confused myself on that one. Didn't wanna spoil anything for people if they haven't seen it yet.

    I'm following you...
