How does the district stack up with all of the musical chairs? Does this mean Rose Hill falls back to Boyd? Who will be eligible at Ashland or Fairview? Time will tell.
-
Is that reverse stereotyping? :lol::lol:
-
Who and where was it stated otherwise? Seems to me it's folks outside of RH who make that assumption and those type comments. Who are the "so many"?
I was referring to quote 21 where the poster stated that so many have claimed. I couldn't possibly know who stated that to him, I was just referring to his post.
-
Boy, there's a stereotypical response. Perhaps they wanted both a Christian education and a sports program. Why do they have to have one or the other?
In all fairness it was stated "like so many have claimed" I personally believe that the decision was always twofold, just couldn't understand why it was never stated that way.

Will he get a pro-rated refund on his tuition?

Lewis County shut them out in '85. It was the graduating class of 1986.
Yes graduating class of 86

Okay I stand corrected. I knew that one of those teams in the 80's was really good, I just couldn't remember which one. I don't know why I thought they didn't compete in district play, maybe because of not making the playoffs. :thumb:
East Carter had a team go 11-0 I think that did not compete in the district. It would have been Dane Damron's senior year. 90 I think.

I believe the record at West is 8 wins. It was '87 or '88.
In 86 the Comets had the first winning season in school history. 8-3 They won the first 8 games and did compete in the district but a late season loss to Lewis County cost them a playoff berth.
The 87 version went 6-5 tied for the district championship but lost the playoff scenario when they lost to East Carter. The two Carter County schools played twice that season splitting the games.
The 88 version was in a district realignment situation and had to travel to Newport. They were competetive but finished 5-6.

Tear em down and go for two.

Remember this Fairview had never beaten Boyd County either. Could this be? I wish Coach Brown and all the Comets good luck on Friday. I hope they make history.

By the way for all those in the Boyd/Greenup area, there is a young man by the name of Joey Archer who is on staff at Borders Sporting Goods. He is a graduate of the Taxidermy School in PA. He has opened a shop in the old grocery store at Border's. I suggest you stop by and check out his work. I saw a buck he did last year from WV and it looked pretty good.

Any pics?

Nope, wondered the same thing.

Someone can audit me. I think those add up to 179.25 with symmetry deductions of 4.5 that would equal 174.75.
-
Probably gross measurements. There will be various symmetry deductions and a drying period. Quality, mature whitetail no matter the score. Great bow kill. I would guess the net to be somewhere between 170-175
-
non-typical?
-
Heard a rumor this morning of a large bow kill in Greenup County will be somewhere near 200'. Any confirmation of this?
-
Yeah, and we both had hair when we listened to that junk.
Still have hair it has just moved to my back.

I like 80's hairband music.

Raceland/Ashland freshman last night was 8 minute quarters. The scoreboard operator had 10 and the Raceland coaches requested 8.
-
Number of players will have some impact no doubt as for sophomores not playing in that game, Hunter, Whetsel, Prichard, McCloud, Withrow, Williams and maybe some others that I am missing.
-
Ashland played with several freshman. Both QBs were freshman. The sophomore and freshman classes at Ashland appear to be strong. It will take commitment and work to best take advantage of that strength. Here's to the next few years.

Just like the creek, stretches of rapids and stretches of long calm pools. Hmmm makes me want to go fishing. I hope that when the dust settles it can be BAU for everyone. I have enough to worry about with my own. Don't have any more curiosity or questions. Thanks for the info.

Have any of these transfers been ruled eligible as of yet? I believe that Adams sat out last year and therefore would be eligible, but he is the only one that I would think is ok at this point.
