So if it looks bad, it must be bad. Does selling their house instead of renting it make that much of a difference?? Why is Dale to blame? He played an eligible player based on what the courts ruled.
Goodness, if we have to go through that again. You will see why it is his fault if you re-read the pages.
-
Send him to the public school then. But he shouldn't be allowed to play sports.
He would be allowed, no punishment is warranted for not being able to afford an education.
-
The questionable aspect of this decision is the timing. If it's important enough to rule on quickly, the Court of Appeals should have done so. Instead they chose to wait until a few days before the championship game. It's inexcusable on the part of the Court of Appeals.
You are referring to our judiciary system here, things take a long time. That was well known earlier.
-
What if the family was unable to pay their childs tuition at the private school the next year?
Then they go to the public school system that is in their district. Not football district but school zoning districts.
-
For those that are out of loop.
The game will played w/o Mitchell.
HHS can still win the title.
If they win it could still be stripped.
The courts didn't have a time frame on this.
All the games are forfeited except the playoff games, all this and more is back in each page about twice.
-
From what team?
Middlesboro
-
So what are we looking at here?
Can the game not even being played?
Is there a way Mitchell can appeal and win by saturday?
Can Highlands win the title and still be stripped later?
Everyone of those questions have been answered throughout this thread, you just need to search.

I never said it did! I was going of birdsfanatic's post and quoting of that read into things more.
I know that, I was simply trying to help you understand the circumstances.
-
I hope a Boyle County affiliate did not do this too Mitchell like stated before. I would think Boyle County would want Mitchell to play. I f Mitchell dose not play and Boyle leaves with a win then Boyle will always have to here this explanation.. ( Boyle County wins but might have lost if Highlands would have had Mitchell.) Now do you want to win a state title under those terms?
STATE CHAMP - This had nothing to do with Boyle County, that was an irrevelant post. This was to do with the KHSAA.
-
Would or could someone answer my question please. Does the Court of Appeals set a date and time when the appeal has been made???
I think it was said earlier that there was no way of them determining when the ruling when occur.
-
Birdsfanatic, if you responded that immaturely to a statement that was the truth, you may need to move to the 2 years old and younger forum.
Both you and Birdsfanactic need to remember rules 2 and 3.

Sorry 3...He only represents HIMSELF. You know we all have them!
I fully understand it, I wasn't letting it get to me by no means, rather trying to save his face in light of the accusations and how other member will feel towards him/her.
-
Has Highlands ever run the score up on anybody???
EXACTLY!
Both teams are notorious for running the score up.
-
Highlands 15 Bell 10
Does it stilll hurt PB
LOW BLOW.
You need to realize you are representing HHS and people come away with bad feelings toward them with comments such as these.
-
Who do you think is benefiting from this?
No one other than Boyle County.
But this situation isn't allowing anyone to benefit really, that wasn't the purpose.
-
The correct wod is moot.
What is a 'WOD'?
-
I think the Cov Cath fans have the most to complain about because if HHS didn't make the playoffs I believe CCH with their big o line would have been in Louisville.
They would've had to beat Bell County still and all this is a mute point anyway.
HHS plays on. End of Story.

What happened to his staff
This is all that needs to be said in this forum about this topic. Go here to find and discuss anything.
-
Trust me Smith has bigger worries on his own staff than to worry about the eligibility af a player on another team.
Why did you quote me? I know this and tried to re-itterate those same sayings into Birdfanactics head. Re-read my post again.
-
I think this should be a fair warning that if the Highlands are cheaters remarks keep coming then this thread will not last long and it will be closed. So let's just stop that because it will go no where in the long run and get nothing that we want to know accomplished.
-
What was Mueller suppose to do???? The court said he could play so he let him play. Now the court says he can't play so Mueller won't play him until this gets overturned again by the end of the week. If I was Mitchell's dad and a court said my son could play and Mueller wouldn't play him I would sue Highlands. What was Mueller suppose to do???????
It was more complicated than that and both parties knew it. Mueller knew the whole time that the if the appeals were overturned this could happen and both parties knew the appeals would keep coming so it was a huge caculated risk. Also I would like to see where a court would favor an upset dad over a prominent coach who doesn't want to jeopardize his team.

I just got back from Highlands and the rumours are flying. There were 2 lawyers in our group who said that the appeals judge who ruled against Mitchell today was from Boyle land. There are 2 Northern Ky appeals judges and it wasn't one of them. i can't believe Smith would stoop so low. Go Birds
You yourself said these are rumors, so you go out on limb and blame Smith for something that I'm sure he had nothing to do with or at least none of us would know if he did. I'm sure he has been practicing all week and watching film in hopes to win instead of being on the phone with a laywer.
-
I've asked it once and I'll ask it again. Does the KHSAA ever, EVER, consider these kids?
Yes, even though a small amount were hurt a larger amount was hurt when they got beat by an ineligible player.
The KHSAA gave fair warning early in the season. Take the blame to the coaches or parents or school but the KHSAA is only doing their job to protect the integrity of the sport by not allowing illegal transfers.
-
The thinking behind this rule is dog doodoo. So they have to forfeit the regular season games because an ineligiable player played. Yet even though that ineligiable player played in the state tourney they dont have to forfeit those games. The KHSAA is talking out of both ends of their mouth with that rule.
I think it is ridiculous that they don't have to forfeit the playoff games, I mean they mean the same amount as the district games and they have to forfeit those.
Regardless, the best thing to do is to let the teams play w/o Mitchell.
It is a crummy way for a lot of teams to end their season losing to HHS, but there will never be a right answer for this.
It just needs stopped from the get go in the future and maybe this will allow the coaches in the future to JUST SAY NO.
Breaking news! Highlands may be losing their best player for the finals!

No it didn't matter what class he plays in, it is the school not the class.
