They go to a lot of trouble producing a big sports magazine and then make it more difficult for buyers to find than John Swift’s Silver Mine. It should have been at all Walmart’s weeks ago. By the time I’m able to find one year after year most of the information I’m interested in has leaked out and I’m not very keen on buying one by that time.

I don’t understand? I didn’t realize there is a rule in college football prohibiting scouting the opposition.

It was reported that in the Somalian conflict where American troops engaged local militants that many of the Somalians were on some kind of mind altering drug when they went into battle. I think the Germans did some of the same during WW2.

I’ve never liked having 6 classes. I think 4 is enough.

Will the brothers give Mason enough lift to challenge Clark for the regional title? I’m not from that region, so just inquiring.

Quarterback is below average and the team has members that are undisciplined. This season is pretty much a wrap as far as wins go.

So surreal to see the Admirals humbled week after week. They have been a juggernaut for most of their history. I suppose maybe the school has lost enrollment.

I’m not impressed in the least with the Oregon coach’s decision making abilities. Those 4th down attempts that were unsuccessful cost them field goals and the last one ended up costing them the game due to giving Washington a short field to tie or win.

This team is so undisciplined. Jeez.

Finebaun said on his ESPN show that this week would be a “coming out party” for Georgia and he is right on the mark.

Kentucky is the most undisciplined team I’ve seen in a long time!

The USA is off to a horrible start in the biannual Ryder Cup losing all 4 Foursome matches to start the event and trailing in most of the Fourball matches in the early going. I don’t think the final score is going to be very pretty for the American team Sunday but I hope I’m wrong.

Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar (former Red) and Dave McNally would make an excellent staff even today.
The Orioles had another former Reds player, Frank Robinson. Cincinnati traded him for reasons I never knew and he proceeded to lead Baltimore to the 1966 World Series championship and also won the Triple Crown. And of course he was important in their 1970 championship as well. That had to be one of the worst trades in MLB history.

Be was a huge thorn in the Reds side in the 1970 World Series. He was one of the reasons they lost, along with a superb Orioles pitching staff.

Judging by last week’s 66-13 EKU loss to Cincinnati I surmise that UK is in trouble this year. Games with Alabama and Georgia are going to be ugly!! For the Cats, anyway.

Sorry to hear of his passing. Coach Jones was very successful at Powell. His trademark was a red towel, usually draped across his shoulder during games.

I heard GRC is loaded with talent in their middle school as well.

Condolences to his friends and family. I didn’t know him but I know his dad Gary very well from the days when we both attended the annual Athletics Directors Conference over a 3 day period in Louisville.

They impressed me today with their hustle and defense once they figured out they needed to do more to stop Germany’s 3’s. And they are going to be so much more lethal on both ends of the floor when their two big guys are back.

I know of two members of last year’s team transferred after school ended in the spring. Leading scorer and freshman-to-be Flinchum (around 25 ppg last season) transferred to Powell County and a 6’3 kid transferred to Breathitt County.

They still won’t beat Sacred Heart. They lost their dynamic guard to graduation but have a super freshman transferring in to replace her. And they have their two 5 stars returning.

They have lost some key players to transfer. Being a small school (less than 100 enrolled 9-12) that’s going to be hard to replace. Whoever gets the job will have their work cut out for them.

Heavy rain, high winds, hail and constant lightning in Booneville. Our electric went out about 15 minutes ago. It appears the worst part is over but still lightening like crazy outside.

Is the talented Marshall County sophomore golfer, Trinity Beth, his daughter? I watched her in a tournament in Lexington last summer and was highly impressed with her.

That’s a highly unusual statistic. But it proved true in their playoff with Texas.
