Is there anything in there about interstate highways or schools that sure have made our country and lifestyle better?
As a matter of fact, the highway system was built under the authority of two items in the constitution. Interstate commerce and national defense. Ike had experienced the nightmare of military logistics in the US and believed that an interstate highway system would cure that.

No, to legalizing all drugs.

He does show distinct signs of being quite carpathian, doesn't he?
Machiavellian too.

Just wondering. No poll.

If it's not true, his life should be ruined?
He had to have misread the quote.

I am definately not condoning what he did, but would he be arrested and charged with the same crime if they were on the floor doing their routine and he was taking their picture with a high powered lens?
There's no way he gets convicted of voyeurism. The eavesdropping charge is very doubtful too. They can probably make the disorderly conduct and tampering with evidence charges stick. Somebody should have just beaten the hell out of him.

Not a big fan, although I do have an old Flatt and Scruggs LP that was pretty good.

NO. IT means I did not mean it as a slam but a light hearted comment that Imust have screwed up on.
I do respect ccch and did not mean it as a slam against him.
Oh, you mean like the one I just made to you!
-
I truly did not mean for that to come out as a slam. please accept my apology if you took it that way.
Is that like saying "I'm sorry that you're mad at me.":idunno:

If true I hope he goes to prison. Unfortunately if not true his life will forever be ruined with his name out there like this.As it should be.
His life should be ruined if the allegations are not true? :eyeonyou:

Because of this thread, I ran out at lunch to Skyline for takeout cheese coneys. It's a half mile from my work, but by the time I got back, they were stone cold. I'm not a happy camper.

:cry: I already do. It's called having a huge deductible and only getting one office visit per year. I save up for medical services, kind of like the same way I would save up for vacation... or a new sofa.
But I don't disagree with you. And I'm not sure why this needs to be in this stimulus package.:irked:
That's easy to answer. The liberals are using the stimulous package to push through a lot of their more radical ideas that would have a poor chance of being passed if they weren't attached to this "emergency" bill.

We did some camping at Mammoth Cave when the boys were like mos, 2 and 4. It was a blast. The only down side was having to make a fire in the rain so I could warm up a baby bottle that was in the cooler. Also, don't take long trips in the cave, you'll end up carrying the kids.

BURNA, Ky. (AP) – Police in Mayfield have arrested a middle school teacher after he was seen under some bleachers allegedly photographing beneath cheerleaders' skirts.
Fifty-one-year-old Steve L. McCuiston of Murray was charged with voyeurism, eavesdropping, disorderly conduct and evidence tampering.

I still don't see how this will increase employer offered insurance costs. Is author saying that is will result in a higher number of people using COBRA? If so how? COBRA is being used now, this shouldn't really change that should it? The feds are just going to start picking up a majority of the tab, correct? Maybe I missed something in the article.
From the article:
Since Democrats want to boost participation by propping up Cobra use, that will result in less capital to invest in new jobs in the middle of a recession. It will also mean adding another disincentive (in addition to unemployment insurance) to get a new job. When you subsidize people not to work, you get more nonworkers.

Guys, can we move the Catholic vs. Protestant debate to another thread? I love the debate, but would like to focus more on Mormonism in this thread.

How would this make sponsored health care more expensive?
A company's health insurance premiums are based upon the usage of its employees and COBRA participants. The most likely people to be on COBRA are those who need the coverage because they are being medically treated. This usually means that COBRA participants have a much higher usage than current employees. This drives the price of everyone's premiums up.
I'm not sure that I buy into the argument that the company's cost goes up 45%, but I think I could agree that the premiums are that much higher.

Can someone explain how COBRA costs businesses 145% for employees using COBRA as it does for covered employees?
Average claims costs for COBRA continuees exceeded costs for active employees by about 45%, according to the 15th nationwide survey of employers’ and plan administrators’ COBRA experience, conducted by Spencer’s Benefits Reports. The 122 companies responding to the 2006 survey administered COBRA for 11,949 former employees and 1,421 dependents who elected the continued coverage.

Proof that Mormonism is real.

I think I would have the most difficulty with a Muslim or an Atheist.

Yes, I call them a cult. Who is their founder? A man. I'm a Christian who attends a Southern Baptist Church whose founder was also a man and was God.
The Mormans will use the Bible but also uses other written material. Book of Morman/The Doctrine and Covenants/the Pearl of Great Price.
Their founder Joseph Smith claimed he found the Book Of Mormon in 1822 and translated it to English.
The Bible and the Book Of Morman disagree on certain key beliefs, but they give more precedence to their Book.
I disagree with several "Religions" but that doesn't make them wrong or me right.
I also disagree with the Baptists/Christians/Catholics/Church of Christs/Jehovah Witness/Islam on certain issues.
I saw that episode of South Park too.
The Mormon religion may have been founded by a man, but he never claimed he was God. Other religions could say that Christianity was founded by a man who claimed he WAS God.
Now if you want to ask me if Mormonism and the Book of Mormon a work of Smith's imagination, then :thumb:.

Just google Obamaism. You'll get lots of hits.
Obamaism isn't so much of a religion as it is a psychosis.
