Personal attack? Really?

 

Before anyone else questions my motives, patriotism or view on liberties, let me say that I served in the U.S. Marines as did my father and brother. I have two sons who are Army officers and have done tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

I believe in the right to bear arms, but they don't belong in the workplace.

 

I believe in freedom of speech, but that doesn't give you the right to hurt others by using that right.

 

I believe in small government, but we still need a government who gives us laws to abide by.

 

And finally, I believe I'm angry. Y'all have a nice day.

So y'all believe that guns belong in hospitals being carried by staff? (Not security staff.) Maybe we should have clergy carry guns? And how about our schools? Just think how many kids could be saved if the faculty was carrying heat!

 

If it was only hospital policy to be a gun free zone, he should not be charged. But he should still be disciplined.

 

Look, I understand that it may have been a dangerous job. But if thats the case, you don't bring a gun to work. You work to make it safer. If that's not possible, you look for another job.

I mean, even with a great mounted sight, wouldn't you still have to be some crazy 20/10 vision like Ted Williams had? Insane.

It's less about eyesight and steadiness and more about being a physicist with a rifle. Judging the effects of distance, gravity, air quality, wind speed and direction.

No. Stop putting military units in nonmilitary situations. They're poorly suited for it and that's how you wear out personnel and equipment. The military is not a police force and they hate doing it.

This was an 18 year old family "friend" who started abusing the boy a few years ago according to police documents.

 

The father has not been charged, and when CNN affiliate CFN 13 asked Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood whether he had any issue with the father's reaction, he responded Friday, "Not as a police chief and not as a father."

 

Chitwood had a starkly different reaction this week to news that the father had published his son's photo on the Internet with a plea for cash.

After the boy's assault and his attacker's beating became national news, the father reportedly posted the photo on Facebook saying he needed $1 million to pay for the boy's care after the assault. He also set up a GoFundMe page, which Chitwood derided as a "disaster."

 

As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe link on the Facebook page directed visitors to a page asking for help saving a mother of four from being evicted. GoFundMe said in a statement that its privacy policy prevented it from divulging whether a user's page had gone live, but Chitwood confirmed he had seen it.

I think you should have a photo ID to vote. Period.

I thought this was appropriate.

California just changed their driver license format. It now includes a laser engraved signature, a 2nd UV photo that can only be seen with a UV backlight, and a laser punched image that can only be seen when backlit.

I voted yes, but now that I think about it, if every state offers a photo ID, there is no reason for a national ID.

If you're required to give up something you love for another person, then that person doesn't truly love you.

Re-reading Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy.

An agnostic has little chance of winning and an atheist has no chance of winning. The vast majority of people in this country believe in some supreme or supernatual power, whether its God, Allah, Jehova, The Great Spirit or Gaia. Its a basic belief for most and hard to overcome.

So Hobby Lobby wants to "opt out" of some of the ACA requirements...this isn't much different than ALL OF CONGRESS OPTING OUT of the ACA!

 

Just to be clear, HL's objection was to the requirement that their insurance plan covered post-coital birth control, such as the morning after pill or Plan B. Their current plan already covers other birth control.
