McGee over who?
Over anyone, the kid caused havok and made a mess of every team he played
-
McGee is first team, and I'd even throw Flynn in their at 1st team, second team tops
-
Anything else..............??

God bless Mike Yeagle.
Had a great stay at Beechwood, thanks to him for everything he did for me on a personal level (I assume he'll see this, if he doesn't, could someone who sees him please tell him for me?)
-
Thanks for stating the obvious.
Same thing I was thinking. That time, I admit, that was Cov Cath getting out of hand, but usually, it's all peaceful until the opposing team starts in with cheers about things that are obviously false but said about an all-boys school, so Cov Cath fires back
-
Casteneda from Cov Cath definitely has to get mentioned- he's a junior
-
You wish you could be like us :ylsuper: :jump:
I was about to post that when I saw this thread, there's so much pride at Cov Cath it's unreal
-
Every time we have beaten them, we've scored more than 30, so maybe we do need to score that much. If cov cath's offense shows up to play, I think they'll win this.
Cov Cath's defense will control their offense and Cov Cath's offense will control the ball and put up points
-
While I'm pretty sure this is not what Cov Cath wanted, I don't think it's too far off. They have a first round win and are, as Colonel-fan mentioned, one of 16 teams still playing in AAA.
Often times teams have a bad game in the playoffs...hopefully last week was CCH's "bad game" and they will play up to their potential in the next few weeks.
I agree, and Cov Cath just had some bad breaks, they'll definitely prepare and play to their potential in the next few weeks
-
This amazes me, people want to hate Cov Cath so much and try to find anything to bring them down, they're winning, and they'll continue to do so.
-
Lexcath wins in a rout. They cannot be stopped, the only way to even play close is to rack up 35+ on your side of the scoreboard. I don't think Covcath offense is up to the task. I'm personally looking foward to the possibility of a franklin co- lexcath rematch. that one would keep the scorekeeper busy!
Lex Cath won't win in a rout and Cov Cath won't need to score 35+ to win
-
I'm gonna have to go with BF on this one hchs. You find me a better running QB in the state, then we can talk.
:jump:  :ylsuper: :thumb:
Kaelin Ammons at Franklin County for his career (thru 10/13/05) has passed for over 5,500 yards (62 TDs) and ran for over 2,500 yards (29 TDs). And he graduates in 2007. Thats not too bad, is it.Ok, that's ONE, only having one QB better with better stats than him makes him AVERAGE??
-
After having seen both CC and LC play Harrison County, I must agree with Hilltopper. LC's defense is not nearly as strong as CC's, so this game will come down to a battle of offenses, and there is no doubt that the Knights are much more potent than the Colonels.
The CC quarterback is a very good high school thrower and an average runner at best. Burke at LC is a bona fide D1 blue chipper, and he has excellent talent at the wide receiver position.
Just don't see this being closer than 2 tds....LC 35 CC 17.
Average runner I won't even respond to that, but do me a favor, look at the stats, then get back to me

CovCath is playing bad football right now. The seniors need to realize this is it. Get your acts together or your turning in your equipment next Monday.
These players have so much heart though, they'll prepare hard and work hard all week and do what they need to do Friday night
-
I was there and a hold is a hold. An offsides is an offsides. A roughing the passer is a roughing the passer. No one said they were mediocre. I was there, I saw the game. I also saw HCHS versus Lex Cath and if both teams play the way they did against HCHS it will be Lex Cath by 14+. HCHS took it to Cov Cath in the second half. Harrison was a much more disciplined team than Cov Cath today. If the refs were so one sided, they would have spotted the ball on the last play before letting the clock run down from 32 seconds to 24 seconds so that Cov Cath did not have to make a decision as to whether or not to punt the ball. I know of an offsides on HCHS and a couple of holding penalties on HCHS that were declined. But for your information, today Cov Cath was no better than a mediocre team.
All those penalties are penalties when they're committed, but they weren't called on Harrison, and there was plenty of times it should have been called
All i have to say is cov. cath. has everything to be a championship team but if they dont stop committing the holding and offsides and stupid stuff like that its goin to take them down. I expect they will and when they put a full offensive and defensive game together watch out because this team is explosive.I agree
-
Or CCH peeked too early. Last week you had an excuse, this week you had an excuse, can't it ever be the other team played better and CCH didn't play well?. Tell us up front your excuse for next week, just so we all are on the same page as you.
It wasn't an excuse for anything, it was just an observation of how things went. A win's a win, just keep winning, doing what you have to do
If you have a problem with the refs, take it up with the KHSAA. It's not going to fly here. -
Ya' know, it just used to be the losing team whining about the refs, now even the winning side does, pitiful. How about ONE GOOD reason, as to why the refs would cheat you guys? You won didn't you? They must have not been very good refs, or good at cheating, if they couldn't get you beat in a pretty close game.
Maybe the game was only close because of the refs, ever think of that. In any case, the Colonels still need to prepare hard and be ready for Lex Cath
-
What are you trying to say???
I'm trying to say that the refs were calling it one-sided, I meant they called 74 penalties on Cov Cath and next to none, if any, on Harrison. I also find it funny how everybody can turn on Cov Cath and downgrade them to a mediocre team when they have no basis or doing so. COLONEL PRIDE
-
They won, they made a few mistakes and didn't capitalize when they should have, they got a few bad breaks, and the penalties were 74 called on Cov Cath compared to none called on Harrison, kinda makes you wonder....... A win's a win, prepare hard for next week and come ready to bring the noise
-
I'm not sure if you have heard the news but the Board of Control turned down Prop 20.
I believe the vote was 9 to 7? They stated that it would coast @ $150,000 to run both a public and private championship.
It looks as if at least 9 people took the time to examine the big picture and didn't just cast a vote without thinking the about the consequences.
High school sports in Kentucky aren't ruined!!! :dancingpa

So this isn't final yet? It still has to be passed by the Education & State Legislature? I don't have time to read all the posts, so I apologize, but there's still hope that it won't pass? If it does, when will it start? High school sports in Kentucky will be ruined if it does.

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS IN KENTUCKY ARE RUINED
-
Drew Ellison - Covington CatholicHe is probably the best running QB,But BUrke is the best all around QB.
I haven't seen Burke, but I don't see how anyone can be a better quarterback than Ellison. He hasn't thrown too much because he has played great defenses, but his running and throwing are both great. He's a great leader

In the 99 Cov Cath-Beechwood game, I went up to pick off a pass, and Preston Long about broke my ribs. Not the hardest or best hit ever, but it wasn't too shabby (looked like it hurt, I don't remember because the wreck was the night after the game)
Yeagle officially resigns at Beechwood

No offense, but he's not "a great coach," he's THE greatest coach in Kentucky high school football history, no one will ever come close to matching him
