  1. All most probably true, but as you will learn as you grow older (and you will grow older) pointing fingers at others only leaves yourself open to others pointing it right back at you. Learn to consider the source of the finger pointing and be better than the person who is pointing that finger at you. You received a great education at CovCath that not many receive, use it. Remember how the crowd loved CovCath at Rupp because of how you the student body cheered. No one in the CovCath section was rude, crude, or poor sports they just cheered their team on, by being funny, loud, and doing cheers that no one else had thought of. Be proud you are a CovCath grad and show the current students how a CovCath grad acts; you would be surprised at how many of the current students look up to the former students. They might not admit it but they do.

I simply made a few points, you argued that one was wrong, and then you post that, which was not relevant in any way, shape, or form. You attack me and say that I have no class, when I simply posted facts that were in no way cruel or attacking anyone.

CovCath students- make sure you're right before saying anything, don't attack anyone, but defend CovCath with facts, just as I did.

    Thanks oldguy :thumb:

  2. There is nothing accurate about that post. I know 2 kids who went from Highlands to Cov. Cath. specifically because they were having various issues at Highlands. Kids move schools for various reasons all the time.

How would 1 of 3 points being wrong make nothing accurate about it? Anyways, the 2 kids have nothing to do with my point. That's only 2, and did they play sports, and name some more who switched to CovCath for sports because they couldn't make it academic wise at CovCath

  3. BFritz,

As a fan of Sports in Northern Kentucky and thus both schools in this discussion, I can say with some certainty that your Principal, Athletic Director, and Teachers, didn't teach you to speak this way about others. The one thing that I have been impressed with at CovCath at the many games I have attended there over the years, is the way the students cheer on their team, they do it with class and “with a Sprit that will not die”. Your above statement didn't show any class at all and as an Alum of CovCath it doesn’t make CovCath look very good either.

    Gunner11,

I think you will find that CovCath won the State High School Baseball Tournament in 2002.

But yet it's ok to say everything bad about CovCath- double standard. This thread was about the rivalry, and as covcathftball said, if you do some research, you'll learn how accurate my post was.

I'll take responsibility for everything I say. I'm pretty sure that a lot of CovCath people agree with me, but I won't bring them into it, I'll back up everything I say and I'll take it all on

  4. Is it a bad time of the year for grapes? They must be tasting really sour for you.

That would be a relevant comment if my post was just a random comment, but seeing as how it's not, and that's what this thread is about, your post is just trying to avoid the point. If you look back at every transfer in recent times who has gone to Highlands from CovCath and played football, my post holds water.

  5. Lawson should play the two, he can't handle the ball against the top tier PG's in region. Anytime in the Holy Cross Vs Dixie game when he ran pg it seemed a turnover happened.

Agreed, he could make a ton happen from out on the wing, coming off picks, and just cutting a lot

I agree with this Lawson needs to be running the point or being on the wing where he can launch a few three's.

Even if he wasn't launching threes, just have him out front or on the wing where he can hit a mid-range jumper or drive to the basket. I'd definitely have him out on the wing, coming off screens and things, and just making stuff happen on his own. I respect Chev and I like him, don't get me wrong, but Lawson can make things happen for himself and for others if he wasn't on the block.

Hopefully he'll change his mind and get Lawson off the block, and this isn't any of us coaching for him or saying he can't coach, it's just logic, and I understand that Lawson's one of the biggest kids, but he's doing absolutely no good being on the block

  6. Sam Lawson could start for any team in Northern Kentucky, and I haven't seen that many teams in the whole state, but I haven't seen one that he couldn't start for. He creates scoring opportunities for himself and for others, Dixie doesn't have any size, so they have him on the block, someone please explain that to me. Being on the block takes away his shooting threat and his threat to drive. Whenever he was on his way down the floor or just out near the free throw line and caught the ball, he either scored by knocking down a mid-range jumper, drove to the basket and scored, or drew a double team which opened a teammate who he'd get the ball to. Like I said, they had him on the block, so he didn't have many opportunities, and he still tossed out 17 (I think).

I understand he's one of Dixie's bigger players, but he'd be so much more effective out top or on the wings. Dixie would be so much better if they didn't shove him down on the block, he needs to be in a position where he can make stuff happen for himself and for other players.

  7. BFritz don't be bitter if CCH would have taken care of buisiness they would have nothing to complain about, congratulate Highlands and move on. Besides they had their chance against Lex Cath and forgot to play defense.

I'm not bitter, well, maybe a lil, but it's just because CCH's team was loaded with talent and even more loaded with great kids who deserved to win. They got a raw deal

  8. My opinion is that middle school/frosh team results are meaningless when it comes to predicting the future of a high school team.

Is the middle school team competing against all middle schools? No.

Does varsity basketball only have one grade playing? No. Its the best of the best at each school.

The bigger question at Ryle is where is the talent? 1400 kids should be able to produce more talent than Ryle has put on the floor.

Is that 1400 boys or 1400 including girls?
