  1. I wasn't aware the list was released yet Though some of the names listed above may be on the Jr. team, you obviously need to add Rebecca Gray and Holly Milburn from Scott County. Remember too that some of the girls he'd like to have on the team, have prior commitments and cannot participate.
  2. The KY All Stars will be scrimmaging a team of Jr. All Stars at Scott County High School on Wednesday, June 21st @ 7:30pm. Scott Co's Steve Helton is coaching the Jr. All Stars, and will make his roster available soon. I'll add information as it becomes available.
  3. Does anyone know who some of the teams are that will be playing in the AAU State tournament 6/9,6/10 and 6/11 at the KBA? Scott County will be there after missing the tournament last year.
  4. Yes, Woody Jr. Scott Co. did get National recognition. USA Today splits their rankings into 4 regions. There are 10 teams ranked in each region for a top 40. Then they take the top 25 of those 40 teams and rank them in the Super 25. Scott Co. was ranked anywhere from 9th-5th in the South region throughout the season. The Lady Cards made it into the Super 25 and were ranked #23 in the nation going into the Lex Cath game. Even though Lex Cath was ranked higher and won on a last second shot, this time of year, you lose and you drop out. SC is also ranked in the Student Sports top 40 in the nation currently at #28. It has been really good for the State of Ky. to have 2 teams do so well and be ranked with the top teams across the country. Ky High School girls basketball is on the rise and is receiving a lot more National attention. I know that the Lady Cards season didn't end the way they had hoped, but the "Big Red Nation" is really proud of them all. The only 3 losses came to Nationally ranked teams Lex Cath and Winterhaven Florida. We are all looking forward to watching you next season. We will feel the loss of Chelsia and Suzie, in more ways than just basketball, but we return 3 starters and a very deep bench. Congratulations to all teams in the Sweet 16. You made memories that you will always remember.
  5. Congratulations to Chelsia Lymon of Scott County- named KY Girls Basketball "Gatorade Player of the Year". http://www.news-graphic.com/articles/2006/03/29/sports/sports01.txt
  6. There were 19 voters spread from across the state. It's hard to argue against the 1st/2nd team if you look at the caliber of their team and strength of schedule. Nice representation from the SEC, ACC, Sun Belt in the mix, so IMO it's more than living in Lexington or Louisville. I think you'll see similar names in the CJ. Also, I thought there was a 3rd team last year with fewer voters.
