3rd Region Off-Season Discussion (2026-2027)
Ever since the end of the season last year, I think the consensus would be that Grayson and Apollo are the top 2 teams. With the additions to both teams from the end of the year to now, I don't see that changing. Grayson loses more from a production and minutes standpoint with the graduation of Armstrong and Mardis than Apollo does, but regained some experience with Braden Wright and Jonah Massey. I expect the trio of Logsdon, Langdon, and Gaither to continue to carry the load for the Cougars from what I have seen in the summer. Apollo brings its core back that has been with Coach Tinsley from the beginning. Adding some huge talent and size to the roster only gives them depth and opens up more scoring options. I hope to see this matchup in the Region Championship and not a second-round matchup. Grayson will coast through the district by no less than 30pt victories while Apollo will have to show up every night to win. I think when it comes down to it, Apollo and Coach Tinsley will have something special cooked up defensively for the Cougars that they've never seen before. Adjusting to it might give them all the edge they need to get it done and go to Rupp.

3rd Region Districts & Regionals - 2025/26
2022 was the last and only time, besides this year, a team from the 9th district wasn't in the regional final since it has been at the Sportscenter. '23, '20, '18 had an all 9th district final in the regional championship.

5th Region: Week 2
After looking at scores from Tuesday night's games, looking like a shake up in the rankings for week 3. There were a lot of 5th region matchups, but some teams, however, are still not at full strength, with a handful of top players still ruled ineligible. Bardstown 20pt win over Washington Co Etown 33pt win over John Hardin North Hardin lost in OT to Greenwood Hart Co 20pt win over Green LaRue 4pt win over Caverna Marion, Nelson, and Thomas Nelson all get out of region wins as well.

3rd Region Off-Season Discussion (2025-2026)
Meant DC's top 3 players are the most talented trio in the 3rd region. But if I were to pick another team in the top 3. I would go with Apollo, thanks to the addition of the overseas transfer per a post by head coach Ryne Tinsley. From what I saw in the summer, Meade will be solid as well.

3rd Region Off-Season Discussion (2025-2026)
DC will have the most talented top 3 of any team in the 3rd region. With the best player in the Region in Moss, the best C/PF in Watkins, and with the addition of Acton from Owensboro, this is huge for DC. The real question is, can they stay healthy? Grayson, however, has added a transfer from LaRue this year, which should really elevate their scoring from the looks of it this summer. I would predict a rematch of the Region Championship game this year.
