  1. If that is how things shake out, it will be interesting to see how McKee approaches it. They have tons of plays they experiment with that don’t see game action so they’ll have a number of plays that they can turn to this week. Most intrigued I’ve been for a non playoff/district game in a while!
  2. Still no clarity on the QB situation for Friday night. I lean more towards Emongo starting at QB for now.
  3. That shouldn’t be a game SC has nearly as much trouble like they had in years past. SC without Ellison should win that game by 3+ scores.
  4. I think Emongo will break a few to keep it close for 3 quarters but I don’t see a way SC can hang without the throwing ability of Ellison. Highlands 49 Scott County 21
  5. The bluebirds travel to Georgetown to take on Scott County in what could be a great game. In the past, Scott County has owned Highlands. However, last season Highlands beat Scott County to break the skid. Junior gunslinger Charlie Ellison will miss the remainder of the season with a broken collarbone which will be a blow to the electric SC offense. A lot of questions for Scott County coming in, Highlands has much less. Their squad is looking complete and ready for a run at the state title in 4A. Who wins?
  6. Emongo to my best knowledge knows the QB position to an extent. Well enough to be able to come in during certain situations to run belly/belly keep and have the defense on their toes. The longer I’ve thought about it, I am certain the game plan will be to get the backup some throwing reps vs weaker defenses in week 1 and 2 of postseason and hope he’s ready enough to lead the offense round 3 and beyond. The biggest benefit of the Wing T passing attack is that if the play is executed correctly 9/10 times your primary target will be wide open.
  7. The JV QB will be more than capable to execute the fakes, I worry about the passing game. To win state we’ll need some level of one. I expect a lot of creativity with how they approach those situations.
  8. So, with the news that Ellison is out the remainder of the season where do you go? I know SC has experimented in the past with a few fun ideas, wouldn’t mind to see Emongo under center. Not sure how long it’s been since that idea has been practiced. We’ll see how it all unfolds. Huge blow but the team must move forward.
  9. If so, bring it. Will be a great game.
  10. To be the best you have to beat the best. I don’t care who we play! I also honestly prefer to be on the road for our biggest matchups as well, due our bad string of calls at home lately in big moments.
  11. Also not a good night for McKee and he’ll be the first to admit that. Game turned on its head with the Ellison strip sack on a play we shouldn’t be throwing the ball. That last play call shouldn’t happen either I know Emongo is hurt but with the game on the line you gotta have him running a route even if it’s a straight line he’ll attract the defense and give someone a prime opportunity. Onto Highlands should be another good game next week, but it doesn’t really matter win or lose.
  12. If we see Woodford again in the playoffs I really like our odds. I can’t see this game playing out as poorly all around for us next time this has been a rough game.
  13. Obvious time to fake the punt and we aren’t ready. Lord have mercy.
  14. Woodford fumbles, SC recovers in the endzone. Luckily for Woodford the officials called it a touchdown so it won’t even matter. Gotta love these games.
  15. Scott county stopped inches short and they won’t even measure. Feels like these games play out the same year after year.
  16. Everything went wrong late and we get ball down 11 to start the second half. Could be a lot worse. Far from over.
  17. Intercepted by Woodford contact on both sides is it PI? I don’t know but we wouldn’t have gotten it anyway. Get a stop.
  18. First play touchdown on Dantzlers replacement. When it rains it pours. Nothing to worry about yet if Dantzler will return. 21-13 Woodford leads 5:20 left in the half.
  19. Woodford fumbles but he’s called down. Dantzler is now hurt. Pretty disastrous last 30 seconds of play for Scott county.
  20. Strip sack on 3rd and short at the Woodford 30. That just can’t happen. Woodford has ball back.
  21. SC is down to the Woodford 30. Way is leading the way with some huge chunk gains.
  22. Touchdown Woodford. Slants are about all they can throw but they account for two touchdowns. 14-13 Woodford leads. 9:17 to go in the half.
  23. Timmy Emongo 60 yard toss to the house! 13-7 SC 10:17 left in the half.
  24. False start on Woodford. Woodford to punt. Huge.
  25. 4th and 3 coming for Woodford on their own 42.
