    Pikeville ran all over them.

Yep. And the guy from Lex Cath broke a school record against them. Think he had 6 rushing TDs. It’s gonna come down to the line play which normally it does. They have to block and open up holes on offense and we HAVE TO get pressure on him. He’s thrown like 14 interceptions this year. Gotta make him nervous with pressure force him to make mistakes. If he gets all day to throw, might be a long night.

  2. I don’t know much about either team honestly. I watched quite a bit of the LCA vs Lex Cath game and idk how injuries plagued their defense but that running back had a field day against them. I think he broke records that game, had huge yardage and like 4 rushing tds. Maybe someone can fill me in on what happened there. I’ll say this though. I rather play LCA at War Memorial next week than to travel to Owensboro for the semis! So go LCA!

  3. I watched the Danville game. They’re definitely big. If I recall right they had a middle linebacker who also ran the ball. Kid was HUGE, looked like a lineman honestly. I didn’t see too many throws, they definitely get theirs on the ground. It’s going to be a good ole speed vs size in this one. I think they will be too outmatched. Too much speed all over the field for them to contain.

    I don’t know about a running clock but Mayfield by 28. 35-7

  4. He was a monster on that fumble return!! I got excited, love to see a big man pick up the fumble and get some yards.

On another note. That last drive by Danville was just awful. It was literally just the QB scrambling. No attempts to throw the ball at all. With 2 seconds left somewhere passed the 50  I just knew a hailmary was coming and this dude runs the ball

That freshman was at barely 50% completions, 12 TD's and 10 INT's, and Calloway County went 0-10.

Yeah I know lol. I started to add that I don’t think his team or his stats were very good. Decided not to. Calloway is horrendous though. I don’t think anyone would have much better stats there with that team.

  6. I really wish Biggers would come home for his senior season. Him and starks on the same team would be freaking ridiculous! Would be one of the best duos in the state! He’s just withering away at Murray. You run your offense based on the personnel that you have, and biggers is not even close to being utilized the way he should. I heard from a friend that the Murray middle 8th grade QB was a stud in the passing game and had Murray excited about the coming years. Apparently he went to coach before the season and asked about his outlook within the Murray offense. Coach told the kid “I run my offense how I run my offense”. That kid now starts for Calloway county as a freshman. I just don’t get it. Murray could be a whole lot better year in and year out.

  7. The tone seriously shifts heading into next week. Whether we play LCA next week or Metcalfe next week doesn’t matter. This week against Murray should be all about perfecting the little things. Blocking, catching the ball, finding open receivers, being disciplined, not jumping offsides, making tackles, we have to get better at each of those things. The last time we played Murray we were sloppy. There’s no way 9 games into the season we should be playing that way. Get better this week cause next week and as we progress through the playoffs those mental breakdowns turn into turnovers and turnovers turn into touchdowns. Have enough of those mental mistakes and it will be a long night. We have to tighten up!

McCracken County totally falling apart really hurt Mayfield, that was consistently good team on the schedule form 2013-2019.

Very true. The same goes for Paducah on a good year and sometimes even Graves. Heck, even Murray would beat most of their opponents before losing to Mayfield.

Travel for bowl games in the first few weeks of the  year. Those schools will pay you to travel and it puts your guys on a big stage playing great competition. LCA played in the Roy Kidd Bowl vs 6A Madison Central and the Rebel Bowl against Mercer Co this year. Last year they played Boyle Co in Rebel Bowl. Or, you can host a bowl series at your place and pay teams to come to you. There are ways.

I mean that’s literally the only way. And we used to do that a lot. Either join a bowl or some kind of kick off event. I know we went to warren central some time ago and more recently had the games with the Memphis school. But once you start winning those games consecutively the invites stop. I’m not implying we are unstoppable but a lot of teams on this side of the state don’t want to play mayfield first game of the season when you’re feeling stuff out. I wish I was on the inside so I knew if we actually got invited to bigger better competition out there but I’m not. I just don’t see a 5-6 hour trip first week to a Louisville,Lexington or Northern school very viable right off the back. You BW and LCA guys are lucky you have real solid comp right in your backyard. Unfortunately they’re all scared here.

  10. Talk about taking care of business? Mayfield went undefeated and sits at the 3 spot. We can’t help that our opponents just shut down after we beat them and couldn’t win the rest of their games. Not our fault at all. Again, aside from traveling to all parts of the state for better competition I don’t see what Mayfield is supposed to do to not get screwed in the RPI.
