I think Mayfield is just as talented as PT, which is saying something. Let’s break it down position by position

    WR- Advantage PT

I’m not so sure on the WR though. It’s very close if not leaning towards mayfield. Biggers and Dabney are both stud receivers. What were they? 4 and 3 on the WPSD ranking. Braden Morris Is another senior WR that’s very underated. And then youngsters Mack and Malik Kirby can take any catch to the house easily. I get you got the new guy. And he is arguably the real #1. But we definitely have 2 and 3. Idk, I say us.

Has Mayfield ever played at the Rafferty Bowl in Bowling Green? Seems like a no brainer to me. I would think the gate for them would be much higher too, with all the Mayfield fans being able to travel to the game.

Idk what the rafferty bowl is but within the last 10 years I believe mayfield did travel to BG for a double header of some kind. We definitely played warren central at BG somewhere. I think they beat us one year then we came back the next year And won.

Scheduling is pretty hard. This side of the state is a lot weaker west of bowling green. We have beat up on them so bad no one wants to play. I don’t know what the solution is. Can’t travel 3 or 4 hours every Friday looking for good competition. 9 games this year only. Sad

Don’t do that you know y’all mayfield fans, the whole town and players take this seriously, I know y’all get the hype about being the top 3 in the nation in wins but come on now this game is majority of the time the toughest game on your regular season schedule.

True and very sad. Nobody will play us anymore. We have lost so many competitors. Especially in this region. I mean we only have 9 games this year because we couldn’t find teams that would schedule us.

  5. It’s a coach’s job to put his personnel in the best position to be successful. To win football games. As dominant as Juju has been these last three seasons, he looks mighty uncomfortable running out of the spread this year. He wasn’t even able to break one open against a very weak Hoptown defense. I don’t think it’s his fault though, I believe the sets and play calling are not in his favor, even when he gets the ball. He’s a big back, strong, stocky. He’s not overly agile or quick feet for cuts and jukes. He’s a straight up very faster bruiser. Think Derrick Henry. He needs to line up 5 yards in the backfield and punish between the tackles. North and south running. All the spread does is cause him to run east and west and find a hole somewhere. He’s not the type to put his foot down make a cut and jet up. We have to mix it up. Our coaching staff is too talented not to be able to throw in some different sets, different looks! We won’t win next week if the running game isn’t better!

I’m not disrespecting them at all. I’m just looking at LCA’s roster and saying they should win it all and I think they are the best team. I hope Beechwood does beat them if they get the chance to play them.

Of course they should win! With the roster they have now heck they could easily challenge 1-6. As a mayfield fan I’m salty about it, cause I truly believe this was the year to break our streak. The fact though, that somehow, the best qb in the state and the best rb in the state are on the same team now is scary. And they still have 7-8 other D1 prospects.  I pray we don't see them until State lol..

With kids transferring from school to school at a great rate, the previous season doesn’t really hold a bunch of merit, analyze the current rosters and then make decisions based on current play.

This! I mean take what LCA had last year. We made the game hard for the QB and we won the game. This year? Completely different team. The additions. It’s ridiculous. Pick your poison now. You can’t solely focus on one now.

Why do you say that? You think Mayfield is that good this year?

I don’t think it’s that! Although I do believe mayfield is hitting on all cylinders at the right time. Beechwood is too though. But I think it’s more we got spoiled for a while winning all of those championships and being at Kroger field year after year. Now that we are finally back after a little break it sorta feels like “we don’t know when we can make it back this far, gotta win now”    Sprinkle in a little of the tornado/community/do it for the town and it feels even more like championship or bust. There might actually be too much pressure on this team tomorrow. This will be my last post before the game tomorrow. I just hope they leave it all on the field.

Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose!

  9. Definitely beat me to it. There is no comparison for Boley to anyone right now. Idk who the Beechwood QB is but I’m sorry he’s not on the same level. That’s not saying he can’t play cause I’ve noticed his stats on here but no. We gave Boley what we wanted LCA to have. We limited the deep ball and kept everything in front of us. I’d say we did a pretty good job limiting him honestly.

  10. I’m taking the Cardinals. This team has taken everything that has been thrown at them this year and overcome time and time again. People keep mentioning Beechwood and that we may not have faced such a well oiled machine. I feel like we heard the same about the offensive game of LCA. We found a way! I believe we will find a way this Friday. I believe the coaches will have a plan and adjust as needed. This isn’t the same team as last year. I hate to keep using this as a crutch, although it’s valid, but after the year we have had I know that this team is putting the whole town on their backs and because of that they are playing MUCH harder!!

Mayfield hasn’t won a title in about 7 years, we are definitely due!! This may be our year!

    Mayfield 31-28

  11. Wow. Wow. Wow. What a game! Boley is as advertised. What a stud! He will pick you apart if you let him. I feel like we wanted to stop the deep ball more than anything and wanted to keep the ball in front of us. That offensive playbook is nothing like I’ve seen before in HS loved seeing it. But He definitely took advantage first half, second half we made some really nice adjustments that I seen. Kids played their hearts out tonight. But none other than MR. JUJU STARKS!!!!! Give that man the game ball right now! Goodness gracious what a performance from him. On both sides of the ball. He changed the game once he started coming In on defense. His speed was KEY!!! All the kids played amazing! Good frickin game!!!
