Agree. I think the winner of the region comes out of the top 4, but any of those teams from 5-15 could beat one of those teams on their best night. Should make for an interesting February and March.

11th Region Week 6 Review The action in Week 6 was limited by the winter weather experienced across the region. The beginning of the week featured a couple of statement wins by Douglass and Bryan Station. Late in the week Bryan Station picked up another win, as well as Great Crossing. Lexington Catholic lost a tough game on Saturday against a team out of Tennessee featuring a player committed to Vanderbilt. The week ahead features the 11th Region All A tournament hosted by Model. This field of teams seems to be wide open this year with no clear-cut favorite. Tuesday and Friday feature some great basketball games in the area. Get out this week and check out a game! You're right. Should've had them behind Dunbar because of the head-to-head. I'd move them to 6, just ahead of Tates Creek.

The loss of Tim Hall definitely changed the ceiling for the Bulldogs. They are still a solid team that has played a challenging schedule with a new coach. We should learn a lot about PLD over the next few weeks with games against Madison Central, GRC, and Lexington Catholic.

11th Region Week 5 Review At the halfway point in the season, things in the 11th region haven’t changed much from where we started in November. There is a ton of parody in teams from 6-15 and right now it looks like any of the top 5 could beat each other on a given night. Looking back at Week 5, GRC came out on top in a stacked field at Lexington Catholic in their WGM Classic which included 4 of the top teams in the 11th region. Lexington Catholic finished in 4th place in this event, with 2 respectable losses to Ballard and North Laurel. The Blue Devils picked up their first two losses of the season to Woodford County and Dunbar. Dunbar also defeated Great Crossing, but lost to PRP and Trinity. Madison Central also picked up two more losses to Ballard and Woodford County. McCracken County came out on top of LCA’s Central Bank Classic. 11th Region Week 4 Review Looking back at the best home games of Week 4, Henry Clay came out on top at the Lee’s Classic as they defeated host Madison Southern in the finals. The Blue Devils are hoping to finish 2021 undefeated as they head to Lexington Catholic this week. Lexington Catholic picked up their first loss in Florida as they lost to University out of Fort Lauderdale. Lexington Catholic will host the White, Greer, & Maggard Holiday Classic starting on Sunday; they will hope to meet GRC or Henry Clay in the finals, but Ballard may stand in their way in the semifinals. 11th Region Week 3 Review Looking back at the best home games of Week 3, Lexington Catholic started the week with another solid win on the road against Tates Creek. On Tuesday, Dunbar also got a good road win at LCA. On Thursday, Sayre picked up a nice win at home against Franklin County and Tates Creek held off a hungry Lafayette team as they looked to get their first win of the season. Looking ahead to Week 4, Madison Southern is hosting the Lee’s Famous Recipe Classic that tips-off on Monday. Tuesday features Great Crossing heading to Bryan Station. On Wednesday, Western Hills hosts Danville and Franklin County plays Woodford County in what should be a great game. Lexington Catholic begins their holiday classic on Sunday. 11th Region Week 2 Review Looking back at the best home games of Week 2, Tates Creek started the week with a big district win over LCA. On Tuesday, GRC went to Madison Central and picked up a good win in a 5 point game. On Thursday, Lexington Catholic made a statement with their 42 point win against Boyle County. Friday and Saturday featured some great games in the Toyota Classic at Scotty County and Great Crossing. South Laurel was the eventual champion as they defeated Douglass in the finals. Looking ahead to Week 3, the week starts with a great game between Lexington Catholic and Tates Creek. 11th Region Week 1 Review It was great to finally tip-off the basketball season in the 11th Region. After 1 week, 4 teams remain undefeated (Lexington Catholic, Henry Clay, Great Crossing, and Tates Creek). Each of these teams made a considerable jump in the rankings. Some of the teams near the top of the pre-season rankings fell in the rankings after a loss or two. One of the top teams in the region, Frederick Douglass, should welcome their football players back this week after they finished their season on Saturday in the 5A Championship. Looking back at the best home games of Week 1, Henry Clay picked up a big 23 point home win over Frederick Douglass to start their season. Pulaski County defeated Madison Central in overtime on Tuesday night. On Friday night, Bryan Station picked up a big 19 point road win against the Broncos. On Saturday, Covington Catholic defeated Dunbar by 7 in one of the best games of the day. Please highlight any of the top individual performances in the replies below. Looking ahead to Week 2, there are some great home games on the slate. The week starts on Monday with what should be a competitive game between LCA and Tates Creek. 11th Region Preview With new coaches, transfers, reclassified players, and hopefully a 30 game schedule, it should be a fun ride in one of the best regions in the state. Some traditional powers in the region find their way to the top of the pre-season rankings. Madison Central enters the year as the defending champs, and it just makes sense to slot them in the #1 spot. An argument could easily be made for Dunbar, Frederick Douglass, or Lexington Catholic. The next group of 10-12 teams could be drawn out of a hat, and placed in virtually any order. It would not surprise me if any team in the pre-season top 10 cut down the nets in Richmond at the end of the year. I look for Madison Southern, Bryan Station, and Western Hills to really surprise some teams this season. As always, wins will be rewarded the most in the weekly rankings; strength of schedule will also play a factor in differentiating between similar teams. I am thankful and excited to take this ride with you. I will make mistakes and there’s a 100% chance I will rank your team too high or too low at some point.
