  1. Never seen a BBHS team quit, but it sure seemed like this one did tonight.

Quit is a bitter pill to swallow. I would prefer that you would have used the word OVERWHELMED.

Up 25-11 with everything going our way, and then to fall behind 29-25 before we scored again, then battling to a 38-38 tie after three quarters with everyone anticipating a photo finish to see who goes to the finals when Jon Elrod explodes for 16 points out of the gate in the 4th sending us home to prepare for round two was rather "overwhelming."

I even used the phrase "The Onslaught Continues" during our broadcast but never accused our guys of quiting. Becoming tentative maybe, but not quitting. Brad Seiter didn't hurt his leg late in the game by quitting.

I think it happened so fast - Down 40-38, 43-38, 46-38, 50-38 and then 52-38 was really quite overwhelming.

I rode the bus back tonight in TOTAL silence and I saw the looks on our guys' faces as they got off of the bus tonight back in Alexandria and it was the look of a team in shock that was overwhelmed. They will remember and hopefully be prepared for PCo's potenial when they visit the SyDome in February for round two.

  2. Keep in mind that Pendleton now has a 4 game win streak over Brossart. A lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff at PC: Buddy Biggs, Chad Simms, Brad Cox, Jon Witrth, and Michael Miller.

The PCo staff does a great job with their Cats as does the Mustangs staff with our guys. Buddy Biggs has been a godsend to the program in Falmouth and should maybe consider a cushy political position while his popularity is at epic proportions.

We are all too aware that PCo holds the 4-0 string over our Mustangs after years of domination by the guys in green and will continue to try to reverse the trend each and every time we play. I'm sure the Stangs aren't the only team that the Cats have that distinction and am honored that we would be considered a benchmark in the Cats recent history of success.

There is a reason for their recent success with the Brossart program - THEY ARE A @#$% FINE BASKETBALL TEAM. Off the top of my head no one else currently holds that distinction, with perhaps Mason County being the exception - I'll have to check.

PCo graduates six seniors this spring which could seriously alter the success senerio in Falmouth.

Enjoy it while you've got it - Fame is fleeting!

  3. BB private school. :sssh:

Sharp - This is one private school that does it by the book.

Every player on our roster is from one of the six parishes designated to be our District feeder schools. If anything we are somewhat disadvantaged ourselves that many of the players from within our feeder programs choose to attend Newport Central Catholic or Campbell County.

Credit an excellent grade school/junior high basketball program. a tradition of hard work, dedication, commitment and over-achievement on the part of our players, and a superior coaching staff for our success and not the low road route that you seem to imply.

We too get frustrated by the actions of some of our private school counterparts but that certainly is not the case here.

  4. I was notified today that the Touchstone Energy All "A" Boys and Girls State Tournament Brackets have been posted.

Touchstone Energy All "A" State Tournament Brackets

    The Boys Brackets are:

    Region 11 vs Region 2

    Region 7 vs Region 3

    Region 15 vs Region 1

    Region 9 vs Region 16

    Region 12 vs Region 6

    Region 5 vs Region 8

    Region 13 vs Region 4

    Region 14 vs Region 10

The Tournament runs from Thursday, February 2nd through Sunday, February 5th at McBreyer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.

Who do you project will come out of each region and what interesting potential matchups loom?

  5. Congrats Brossart!

Brossart will be tough to beat for the remainder of the year if Cooper, Mutsch, Uebel, and company keep playing this way.

The "And Company" piece is huge.

Josh Kidney is adding a whole new dimension to the Mustangs offense with his high percentage shooting. 12 Points tonight in the championship game - Three Two Point Goals with a toe on the arc. Shades of Scotty Ruth.

Brad Seiter had a great tournament led the team with confidence, poise, and example and Lubbers was also a major contributing factor. Adam Franzen sparked the Stangs in the second half and can ignite at any time.

Team is the key term - On any given night..........
