They will be district favorites next year.
Things have a way of working out for “The Prince of Prospect”

Wow, I wasn't going to be suprised if Woodford County suck away with the upset, but I sure did not expect it to be by this amount. As mentioned earlier in the thread Woodford County controlled the game from the tip, holding North Oldham to just 2 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. The last 4 minutes of the first half North Oldham found their stride a little bit, and after a Dallas Roberts 3 they started to find some rhythm scoring 9 points. They went into the half with just 11, I would assume this is the lowest-scoring half they had all season.
I had said in a thread before that Jasper Johnson was the best player in the region, and after tonight I see no argument. He was spectacular from the tip, hitting 2 early threes to get the Yellow Jacket offense rolling early. After that, he never slowed down. His finishing around the rim was something that I have never seen before, I do not believe he missed a shot inside the 3-point line. Another huge player for WC tonight was sophomore guard Santonio Wade. He had the role of guarding North Oldham guard Dallas Roberts, and did not back down from the challenge. Wade was in Roberts face from the jump, and never slowed down or backed off of him for the entire 32 minutes of the basketball game. They now advance to the regional championship game for the 2nd time this season, and I am sure they will be highly motivated for an appearance at Rupp Arena.
It seemed that North Oldham just could not buy a bucket. They never found a groove on offense, and had a horrendous shooting night. After getting themselves in a deep hole quickly, they made it hard on themselves to come back against such a talented team. There was really no play on their team that stood out, as they all had really bad nights. In the end, a great career for all of the seniors from NO, and I'd imagine they will have a slight rebuilding year next season.

They don’t rebuild in Goshen. They reload.

These are also types of matters that can be taught through sports. Which as I said 98% and probably more 99% of the time it goes smoothly with kids doing it the right way.
As I said though the sad part about this game is the players actually did handle the line well. There was a lot of heated moments on the court, but at the end when it was time to shake hands the players were handling it well. Sadly it was adults who couldn’t handle it.
All very good points.
Let me ask you a question future. Do you wear a seatbelt in the car? Do you lock the doors to your home?
These actions and many others are called preventive measures. We do them to prevent bad things from happening. To each their own. Good Luck to Cooper and Newport in the finals.

I 100% disagree with both of you on this.
Life in America these days.
At least we can be civil about it.
Why do you disagree?

Please do away with useless handshake line, or conduct prior to the tip.
THANK YOU!
I brought this up in another post last week.
Regular Season - fine do it after the game if you feel you must. Still prefer we go the Volleyball route and everyone shake hands before the game.
POST Season - Don’t have it after the game under any circumstances. Many kids have just played their last HS game and may not be equipped to handle it properly. And apparently the adults can’t either.
I'm sorta old school, prefer NO daps, handshakes, hugs etc. before, during or after. Be HONEST, if you’re a competitor you don’t really mean “Good Luck” cause you want to win.

Defense travels at this point in the season.
Will be interesting on Tuesday as both Ballard/Male like uptempo.
Should be great no matter the opponent.

Helluva job Jones.
Thanks for all your work this year.
I’ve seen more basketball this I can ever remember. I’ll say this about it:
HS Basketball in the Kentucky’s biggest city is alive and well. We should have GREAT games on Monday and Tuesday night!

Massey is normally well thought of.
The one above is sorted by SoS. What this shows is that there are a lot of good teams in Jefferson County as many play each other throughout the year.

Jones, DeSales returned a good young group who as usual played an extremely tough schedule. Western probably lost their best player to a prep school but I’m with you that they wouldn’t have been my first choice to win the region.
Their Coach does not shy away from competition and has had this team on an uptick heading to the Tourney. I wish more of the better teams around town would do this (challenging schedules) but it is not to be.
Monday should be a great game with the defending champ (Jtown) who has a VERY veteran group vs a battle tested group in DeSales.

And already sold out.
Sad that the powers that be can’t figure out how to let fans watch the games.
Biggest city in the State and they don’t have a venue that will hold 5,000 fans. Oh wait, there are TWO of those in the city.

Kid moving from school to school in the US and then leaving the country. You don't smell anything?
Kids moving school to school is not anything new. It almost seems commonplace anymore.
Going back home for a year before coming back stateside to play college OR turn professional doesn’t really move the needle for me.
Each person has their own reasons for doing what they do.
