  1. I agree with Falcon Pride and MaddenCurse44. Both very skilled players. I’m going to add a couple more. Dixon from WV is a nice player to watch. Colton Feagan from Williamstown is smooth with a great shot and can score at will. He’s probably the most underrated in the region. Look for him to have a breakout year. Averaged 19 last season. Mid 20’s this season.

No way you think Owen had them beat🤣Duvall is the one of the worst coaches in the 8th. And you can go ahead and say well, look at the last couple years… They had Teegan Moore. That’s literally the answer to everything Owen has been thrown the past 3 years. I am going to sincerely enjoy watching Owen get blown out next year and finally see Duvall get exposed of how bad of a coach he really is.

Can’t disagree. But who else is in your category?

I would not be surprised if Coach Utter leaves:  He has not been happy for 2 seasons and he almost left at the conclusion of last season. He does a good job at a school that doesn’t care about athletics, has terrible facilities,  and not many athletes roaming halls.  Only thing that would keep him there is the junior class which includes his son.

I agree he does do a good job. And I think he has reached his ceiling. Every school goes through it's cycles. Some shorter than others. Every good coach has self pride and think's he can win region championships and once that's been done a few times, then they think winning state. I do think he has the fire and knowledge to get at that point. But not at Grant. Not enough talent in the county. Just ask Williamstown. Sure there are a few good and great talents, but not year after year. But why do you say he hasn't been happy? Let the cat out...

  4. Not dropping head coaches names but there is a particular HEAD coach from another school who did somewhat of the same thing the assistant at GC did in a classic game earlier in the season. Nobody seemed to care about it or how he acted at the time. But if another coach does it at another school, ESPN is called, Fox News, Ken Broo and John Matarese. It’s a double standard. My take is coaching staff should have class and if they don’t then take classes for it. These are kids and they will do whatever they see.

As a person in the stands with no dog in the fight, it seemed to trend both ways. I felt at times Grant County's side was out of control towards the refs, and did not show the greatest sportsmanship after winning.

Onto WV, they were also aggressive towards refs, but no where near as bad. To be fair, some of the calls that they argued were questionable calls, but Grant County seemed to complain over anything that didn't go their way. WV did not show to greatest sportsmanship after the game as well.

REMINDER: I am talking about fans, not anyone on the court! The sad part of it all, the players in the game seemed to have handled themselves better than majority of the fans!!!

Agreed 100% Players are kids and kids don’t always do and say the right things in the moment. They get a pass. As long as it’s not over the top. Coaches should be wise. But a few are not. Poor officiating is what gets most fans wound up and sometimes tossed. That’s how the fan or coach or player is held accountable. But how is the referee held accountable for poor officiating? They aren’t. That’s why tourney games needs to be officiated by an unbiased crew. And yes bias does happen.

I know, but @StevnASmith said he wanted to see where both Feagan and Breeden matched up in the scoring column.
I would think that it is pretty common sense that your players on the all-region roster will be a leading scorer on the team. I could see an exception, but probably only if it is within a 1-2 point difference of the leading scorer on the team.

I am sure that if you go back many years, and go to other regions the same will apply with them.

Good players at small schools who don’t play well above 500 get overlooked. Once in a while one might get a look. Looking at your spreadsheet there are definitely players who got snubbed, Feagan probably the biggest.

That's it in a nutshell.  And not just "stats" - it's basically a leading scorer list.  7 teams had one person named, and in each case it was the leading scorer.  4 teams had 2 players named, and in each case, it was the top 2 scorers on those teams.  And one team (North) had 3 players named, and in that case it was the top 3 scorers.  None of that is surprising, of course, it's just the way it is and always has been.  There's really no way to do this and make everyone happy, or even a clear majority.

That’s starting to clarify a little. So based on this, where does Feagan and Breeden fit in this scenario?
