I had a head coach in Louisville refer to Bethlehem as "Leah and a bunch of soccer players." Made me chuckle.
Right or wrong, not nearly enough for a good Small College Team.
Bethlehem rallied post Christmas once Leah came back to make a great run to the State Elite Eight. Will be a factor again next year in Leah's Senior Year.

Ugly game for Franklin only scored 19 points from the field had 17 FT’s.
They were 9-43 and 1-13 from 3.I haven't seen a box, what did Shropshire's line look like?

Congrats to Butler, I thought Franklin County would have enough to win a low-scoring game, they didn't, so congrats to the 6th Region Reps! Having seen both multiple times, I'm definitely surprised at this one, if only mildly.

All over this one so far.
Going to be a rock fight to the end, but Franklin County will make enough baskets to survive and then lose to McCracken County. 😎

Low scoring affair....check.
Franklin County will start making shots, although take nothing away from Butler's defense. They are no fun to play against.

BG scored 4 points in the 2nd Quarter, is that correct? Just referencing back to my post in the prediction thread. 🙂
Great season for the Lady Purples, extended offensive dry spells have plagued them all year, and again today, they go through periods where they just can't get the ball in the basket.
Look for CJ and McCracken County to make the finals vs SHA (or Cooper, I guess, possibly).

McCracken County, led by MISS BASKETBALL FAVORITE (do you hear me yet, voters?) Claire Johnson, get the Lady Purples by 10 or so at Rupp. Better top-end talent, more depth, and the best player in the game...great combination for the Lady Mustangs. BG goes through spurts where they struggle to score, then they look unbeatable for about a 5 minute stretch...it is the former that will doom them in this game. Look for them to have at least one very low scoring quarter and it ultimately is too big a hole to dig out of.

Have seen both of these teams in person multiple times, I'll be really surprised if Franklin County doesn't win by 6-8 in a low scoring affair. Both have some high-end talent, but I like Franklin County's bench / depth more, and very few coaches in KY get the nod over Coach Thacker in a big spot.
-
Cooper got their scare out of the way, I think they win here by 15 or so, and then batten down the hatches for another meeting with the yardstick in KY Girls' Basketball....SHA.
-
Close for a while....then not all that close.
The only team that will / could keep it within 10 of SHA is Cooper in the semis. Otherwise, it is the Sacred Heart Invitational held at Rupp Arena. Again.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think Coach Orem has ever won a game at the Sweet 16. Pretty amazing stat, really.

Leah Macy didn't play in that game.
I'm sure of that.

Man, Coach Thacker has his ladies playing outstanding basketball right now. You have to love a coach / program that knows how to build over the course of the season and peak in March. They're going to be a tough out.

My perpetual plea for voters to do the right thing and make Claire Johnson the KY Miss Basketball.

First one of the State Media Top 15 to bow out, but we will lose at least two more in 9th and 16th.
Great season, and a terrific win by the Purples!!!

This is Joey's time of year!!! If it is Lady Flyers and Freddy D it will be a classic.

Another Manual vs SHA Final incoming.....with, likely, the same result.
