Worth adding, if HC and BB make the All A Classic Finals on Sunday (and this actually goes for nearly all of the teams involved except for O'Cath), they may need sled dogs to get home during Snowpocalypse 2026. I'm sure that is already being discussed as forecasts shift and change, but the most recent projections have Saturday being manageable and then Sunday getting dumped on -- you'd hate to see teams, fans, officials, and the media all stuck in Owensboro until it passes.

If it is Thursday at the All A Classic, it means the boys take center-stage and the girls get the day off. With that in mind, I want to give a quick look at the four games we'll see on Friday and some notes about the 8 teams still in the running for the All A State Championship! Note, as the games are played on Friday morning and early afternoon, of course, each game will have its own thread. * 8:30 AM Central Time: Owen County (11-4) vs Owensboro Catholic (14-5). The teams have met once before, January 30 of 2022, with Owen County winning by 11. Based on the horrific RPI system, Owen County would be a slight favorite. I'd buck that and give the nod here to O'Cath. Either way, the game should be close and highly competitive. * 10:00 AM Central Time: Danville Christian (12-6) vs Bishop Brossart (19-1). According to the KHSAA, these teams have not met since 1999, when their records begin. Based on the RPI, Brossart would be a very solid favorite here, and likewise, I expect the Lady 'Stangs to win by 10+ and advance to the semis vs the Owen County / O'Cath winner. * 11:30 AM Central Time: Monroe County (13-6) vs Lexington Christian (15-5). Similarly to the above game, these teams haven't met during the "Scoreboard era" dating back to 1999. Based on the RPI, the Lady Falcons of Monroe County (out of the 4th Region) would be a solid favorite here, but I'm not sure about that diving deeper into individual game scores for both teams. In a prediction sure to be wrong, I'll take LCA in a close one. * 1:00 PM Central Time: Covington Holy Cross (15-2) vs Lyon County (17-3). These two teams met at EKU in the All A Classic back on January 28, 2022, with Holy Cross winning comfortably, 50-33. This is a battle of the 1st and 3rd best RPI teams remaining in the field, so it should / could be our best game of the day, but I still expect the Indians of NKY to win here by 10+. Again, while not a system at this point in the season I feel strongly about, for informational purposes only, here is the RPI ranking of the remaining 8 teams. 1. HC 2. Brossart 3. Lyon County 4. Monroe County 5. Owen County 6. DCA 7. Owensboro Catholic 8. LCA

I don't know if it violates the letter of any of their laws, but it violates all of the spirit of them. Shame on the Belfry leadership pulling this nonsense. Side-note, how did Belfry only have two kids suspended, their entire bench (but one kid) cleared during the fight?

Wow....what kind of message are we teaching young men? Consequences matter, unless, of course, a district game would be impacted? Wow!

Anyone know why Belfry would schedule, at the last minute, TWO out of state teams to play tonight? Yes, you read that right, on a Wednesday, their varsity is playing two different teams. That is beyond odd....but I assume there is a reason. Every reason I could imagine is fishy (like burning suspensions), so I'm hoping it is something much less nefarious.

Scoring in Q4 and the OTs: 39-20, DCA. That is how you close a game!

Confirmed, was 100% 71-62, the scoreboard is wrong. Pretend to be shocked.

I thought I had the correct score, but the scoreboard has it differently, but ether way, DCA won and it had 2 OTs.
