The Senior squad won going away, 144 to 100. This was accomplished with eight players. Not on the bench were Shepherd, Israel, Malonga, and Meyer.
If I was naming and MVP it would Moore for the seniors and Perry for the Juniors. Several other players had bright monments.

In my neck of the woods the sources say the destination is Mason County.
If this is the case, there will be a lot of folks in Maysville eating CROW.

I'll help. Kentucky officially announced the trip to Canada on April 24th, via the ukathletics website.
Okay, why wait until the end of May to announce, I'm not playing?

I'm guessing that he never "Committed" to the All-Star game. Being Mr Basketball he automatically had a spot on the team and the #1 jersey...people just assumed he'd play. I'd add that if not for the conflict with his new teams schedule, he absolutely would have played.
My biggest issue is anyone calling him "Classless" because they don't like his decision.
They have the all star scrimmage game this Saturday, then the home and away games next weekend. Why would wait until a couple days ago to announce you're not playing. No doubt he knew all along he was going to the big house the first of June.

When did he commit to it? Was it before the schedule for the Canadian trip was announced?
Honestly, I don't know. I'm guessing it was announced way in advance of the all star team being put together.

Oscar wanted 4 million to come back originally but then his handlers demanded Kentucky give him 8 million guaranteed.
What a joke!

As a chance to start building a team that he committed to way before he was name Mr. Basketball.
This Canadian tournament wasn't even announced until after the high school season was over and he was named Mr. Basketball, no way of knowing then there would be a conflict.
He may not play 36 minutes a game in Canada, but with just a handful of scholarship players he will be needed.
I'm not referring to him being named Mr. Basketball, I'm talking about his commitment to the all star team. He committed to the all star team. Why did he commit and then drop out.

If he did, people should vote differently on who the best player in the state is based on him not playing in a useless exhibition game?
How would you classify the Canada games?

UK only has 7 players, he is getting all the rest he can now, guy will be playing 36 minutes a game during the summer trip and during the season. We can't afford any injuries, safety first. 🙂
I highly doubt he plays 36 minutes a game in Canada, much less during the season. I'm still thinking he might even redshirt.

So it's classless to skip an All-Star game?
Imagine what he'd be called if he bailed on his actual team to go play in an All-Star game...
Yes, it was lacking class. Shepherd and Cal both knew as being Mr. Basketball he would be expected to play in this game. If the choice was not to play, then remove yourself before the selection ever began.

Gives an opportunity for someone else to play that wants to.
Why do we have to make issues out of every little thing that doesn't remotely matter?
Well it did matter to me, I'm going to the game in Owensboro and it would have been nice to see Mr. Basketball play.

I could be off on this, but I just heard from the best source that a NKY Big just transferred and enrolled at CCH….this would be in addition to Ruby’s Grandson…..anyone hearing anything on this.
And any word on the status for Athens for next season?…..is He staying or going?
I can't come up with a Big in NKY. If reported by the best source, please tell.

The fact that the Indiana All Stars are still playing in the game while being just as committed to their schools as Reed tells me all I need to know.
Agreed.

Did anybody not expect something like this to happen?
He already isn’t the first to MoCo and won’t be the last.
There will be some showing up at the neighboring county also IMO.

Yes, but if your new coaches ask you not to play and to focus on your new team......
Sorry, but a commitment is a commitment and it tells me Cal could give a hoot about HS basketball in the Commonwealth.

I think it would be different if this game was played when school was still in session. Schools out, Sheppard is no longer a high school athlete. He's now a college athlete with an obligation to the University of Kentucky. His team will be playing in Canada in just over a month. Yes it's unfortunate he's not playing, but I completely understand his decision.
All of that was on the table when he committed to play.

No. Reed Sheppard backed out. If the best we have to offer are refusing to play then what is the point of this lopsided series? It can’t be profitable is it?
As I said in another thread, I thought Sheppard had more class than that.

Oscar did give UK permission to go build a roster but I still think they must think Oscar is a strong enough lean to come back that they've been pretty hesitant reach out to centers. I feel like had Oscar announced he was for sure gone UK would have his replacement by now.
So Oscar is calling the shots at UK now?

This is a fact because I follow all the UK insiders and UK recruiting like a hawk that is what is being said.
Unless you're on this UK staff, I doubt that there a lot of facts contained here.
