  1. We used to grind up most of ours but recently have been doing a lot of chops/steaks. The breakfast sausage is very expensive to make. Had some chops the other night we used in a stew. Soaked them in milk over night and couldn't tell the difference between them and the beef in the pot.

Milk or buttermilk? I’ve soaked in buttermilk and then rinsed it off before grilling and you could have thought it was beef when you ate it.

  2. Maybe someone out there can answer these questions for me. I never played in high school so I’m not up with everything, but why is there a limit to how many players on offense you can have on or not on the line? Also, why can you not “cover” someone on the line on offense... such as when a trio of receivers lines up, usually the middle one has to be off the line?

  3. I checked the channel lineup for YouTube tv and it even has the local stations and the sec network. However, it doesn’t have discovery, a&e, hgtv (which the wife watches nonstop), the outdoor channel, etc. I guess you can subscribe to them alone, but I don’t know if they have apps on Roku. We have Roku on a few sets in the house to avoid paying the digital set top box rental from spectrum. The Roku is nice, but there is not a show guide to see what’s on through the night and you can’t direct tune to a station. Stinks when you want to go from hgtv on 983 all the way to 912. Plus you can really tell a difference when watching live sports. The Roku just seems artificial even though it’s a 4K setup.

  4. I need to get the metal cover for mine. I have the black stone cover and it is not waterproof. Plus it says into the griddle and collects water. Water got through it and my griddle started to rust. I steelwooled it off and reseasoned it. Then I bought the waterproofing spray and went to town on the cover, plus I put a plastic tub upside down on the flat top before covering it like you put a beach ball under your pool cover to keep the water running off. It has helped, but the metal cover will solve the issue.

  5. I have the stainless too and love it. Do you have the metal dome cover? That is a great tool for squirting some water around your burgers when you 1 st put on the cheese, then covering it with the dome. The steam instantly melts the cheese. Good for steaming onions and mushrooms, etc. too.

There is a great youtube channel from a guy who travels around for Black stone and sets up the griddle at different stores and events and creates all kinds of great foods. He was at the field and stream in crescent springs last year and has a couple videos about that on there.

  6. Congrats to both you guys who bagged a deer! I still chose not to shoot the small doe who keeps coming around the feeder nearly every time I’m in the blind. I hope she drags something else with her one day. Heck, the night before I was there last week, it was a deer party at the feeder with about 6 deer (some nice does) from 6:00 to after 7:00 at night.

  7. There was a quick blurb on the news this morning about spectrum/Comcast bills possibly going up as much as $20 or more in November. Can’t see them doing that because you’d have to think customers would leave in droves. My yearly promotion just ended and mine went up $16 and the wife is having a fit. If it jumps even more I’ll certainly look for something else. I still need to call them about getting our current bill lowered, but spectrum isn’t so flexible as twc was. I hate having to go through that. Last year the rep found us a deal, then after I hung up our cable went totally dead. I called back and after 30+ minutes they couldn’t figure out what she did to totally wipe out our service. It took them until later the next day to get us back and working.
