I thought a couple of their players wound up at Pulaski. Has this been confirmed?
As @Statsdontliestated, Seth Farmer came out today writing a “goodbye letter” to Wayne co. Odd times. And yes, Pulaski is the destination. Kendall Phillips was also on campus today.

With the loss of Fugate, DCA is even more limited in terms of depth. They have 3 solid or better players and then it’ll be a challenge. Fortunately, Danville & Garrard will be down again this year. Lincoln lost most everyone other than Baird. And Boyle, who was only a .500 team last year, figures to lose its top 2 scorers (leaving early for football) and 3 out of 5 starters. They do return 2 good sophomores in Turner and Driver, but I’m not sure what they’ll have beyond those 2, so it figures to be a tough year for them. Definitely the weakest the 45th has been in years.
As for the 46th, it will be a tougher district. I look for West to be a lot more competitive this year and East should be above average again. But Mercer is the clear favorite and has to be one of the top 2-3 teams in the region. They return a lot, including Trevor Ellis.
Regarding Wayne, Dumphord is now at Southwest. There are rumblings that a couple other starters could be leaving as well. Either way, they likely won’t be as good as last year.
It appears this domino has fallen...

That's a big hire for the Colonels. He must've been bored in retirement.

On paper it seems like a good hire. Not sure what the applicant pool looked like. When is the last time an out of state hire had success in the 12th?
Steve Adams had coached in college at TN Wesleyan, and had a good run at Boyle Co.

What does a “staple” imply? I am not familiar with this Coach.
Assistant coach at Bishop Brossart for several seasons under his brother Mike Code. And, then took over for a few seasons after the pandemic. Not sure what else he’s done coaching wise…

I was under the impression that Ford would return but he was interim last season and this is just a formality.
I believe this is the case.

Bart Elam is the OC, correct? His son is an awful good QB for them.

As solid as they come!

There are rumors of two more transfers. Pulaski is the supposed landing spot which, in my opinion, puts them head and shoulders above the 12th region if it were to happen.
12th Region has become the hotbed for transfers. 😂

12th: Braden Fugate is no longer at DCA and is supposed to be going to Russell County.
Interesting news on Fugate. He played really well for DCA this season. If he left, I figured he would stay in the area.

Did South eliminate them this year in first round of district? Max Green was special, maybe they expected more... Just a thought, I'm not familiar with the situation. Coaches are being pushed out left and right around the state.

Dennie Webb have a chance at this job?
I was thinking that too. I would think there is a connection there with the headmaster being in Boyle Co. schools his whole career.

Look for someone retired or a young coach. Somebody will want to coach two 7 footers and a veteran PG. Their JV team was solid, so still will be in the chase next season.

Good luck to Coach Crutchfield and the Lions. I see several winnable games on the schedule.

Interesting choice.

Education/Athletics in a nutshell right now. Good luck to the new coach. Hope he plays the right kids!

Sounds like Brent Perry will be the new coach. He was an assistant at Montgomery County this year.
Congratulations Coach!

Who is Murray Garvin? From where?
He was at Dunbar two maybe three years. Before that coached in college. He still works in Fayette County Schools.

As of now Dumphord is enrolled at Southwestern.
Not Boyle? That is a tremendous loss for Wayne co athletics.

Not Garrard County. Garrard County has great people, and is a solid community. Garrard County's leadership specifically for basketball is poor. A lot of coaches have been framed as the issue over the years, when in reality it's the systems in place.

The revolving door of coaches at GC continue for the basketball programs. I could be wrong, but I don’t see Coach Mcwhorter wanting it. She’s not coached many severe rebuilds.

Wayne may be taking a hit this week.
Interested to see the news.

That current sophomore group plays as hard as any group I’ve seen, but needs some discipline. That’s Adams’ strength.
I don’t think they’ll win it next year but I do think they’ll be in that top 5 or so range.
Top 5 is high praise for what is returning next season. Maybe I'm not as familiar with them, but I would say Pulaski Co, Rock, DCA, Wayne, Mercer, Lincoln in some order before I would think of West Jess.

Their young group isn’t bad. And they have a 7 footer in the middle. I expect them to be competitive in year one.
Didn’t realize they had a 7 footer. Should be a good district, and a lot of competitive games.

I could see this lead to a ripple effect. Will be hard to sell to your feeder system players. Other options, with mins available that will no longer be there.
