  1. I did see that :thumb: It's on the corner of my street and a street that crosses mine, but it's at the end of the street and so far away that I didn't even equate the two (not THAT far away, but not close enough where I put two-and-two together). They even put a spotlight on it at night.
  2. That's so cute....... the inability of any Highlands fan to look at their own program objectively, so they resort to insults. VERY typical.
  3. lol..... like I keep saying, no one has offered anything to understand! If you're claiming that I don't understand the logic of "they will be great again just because they're Highlands," then you're absolutely right! Forgive me for wanting answers with logic and reasoning! I'd call it a regression, but who's to say that they'll even be winning state championships consistently again, or even at all? Haven't thought about it because this thread's about Highlands, which, once again, Highlands is supposed to be in a class of their own, so why's it even relevant to discuss CCH in this thread?
  4. hahahaha.......... like I said, keep posting insult attempts but offering nothing with any quality or substance :thumb: hahahahaha....... I'd be satisfied if anyone offered anything stronger than "they'll be back because they're Highlands," which you did again. :lol2:
  5. lol...... way to dip-out of the conversation after so many posts of never posting anything with any quality. :thumb: lol........ A losing season after a technically a .500 season (not including playoffs) after 25 years of blowing teams out with only 1 loss on average and being a top program in the nation! I'm sure you're right, though, and all is good in Fort Thomas :lol2:
  6. lol....... FAR from it. I just don't buy into the idea that everything is fine when everything that's real indicates otherwise. Argumentative- isn't that what message boards are for? To debate things? I'm trying to debate things but can't seem to get any real answers. I did try and look them up and it shouldn't be too hard to answer if they've been answered before. Combative- no, just challenging the status-quo, which some people might see as combative because I just don't swallow everything that is fed to me. Challenging- so I have a mind that doesn't just accept vague explanations that have no real substance, and that makes me challenging? Nice way to cop-out, though, because asking questions that you can't answer is definitely me playing a game You mean maybe someone else will answer my questions that wouldn't take long to answer if everything was still honkey-dorey in Fort Thomas and if these questions had been answered before :thumb:
  7. We already established that I was wrong there, but regardless, it was to a team in the same class in the FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS. We defined that, as well, with many possible definitions, like how they blew every team out and now put together a losing record. When a team has one of the top two most successful teams in the country for 25 years, where they would blow teams out regularly, and then has a 3 win season, if you try to say "it's just one off season," then I think you're high on something. And it's been more than one season: Losing in the final game in Dale's last year, and then going .500 in the regular season the next year (I think, but did make it to the semi-finals of state), then now having a three win season, and you think all is good and well in Fort Thomas? Looks like a downward spiral to me, and that could be your definition of downfall if you need one. There's that big of a drop-off in talent? Why? How? I thought the feeder program supplied Highlands with all the talent it needed. Highlands had enough talent to two-platoon and destroy teams, and now they suddenly lack enough talent to have kids only playing on one side of the ball? Seems like more than a talent drop-off, and maybe that's the answer that it has to be Dale or other schools improving. Right. So you're telling me that there was a big enough drop-off in enrollment that Highlands had to open the enrollment borders? What caused the drop-off? Highlands is a good school and everyone in the area wants to go there, so it seems like they wouldn't have to completely open the borders again but just accept some students that applied. But better to the point that they're beating Highlands when Highlands used to win by 50+ points? How many times has it been said that Highlands doesn't rebuild, they reload? Not winning state in Dale's final year, then going .500 in the regular season, and then a 3-win season, and it's one down year? Keep in mind that those are two opposite ends of the spectrum from a program that was built to dominate every year and did for 25 years. How do you figure? Will the talent return? Will BW suddenly be inspired by the living ghost of Dale? And you're making my point: you don't have the 2nd most wins in the nation and suddenly only win 3 games if something isn't seriously wrong. Not good answers :thumb:
  8. I could care less about keeping the thread alive at this point, I'm just still waiting on answers from the Highlands faithful that are more than just the same empty rhetoric. It's juvenile because the questions were in the opening post, so asking me to go back and rehash everything in a style that fits your liking is juvenile. My posts have been clear and my questions obvious. I don't need to go and repost them all just because you suddenly want to answer them after six and a half pages.
  9. Everyone may not be as outspoken about it, but anyone with an opinion against him that I've seen or communicated with used that as their reason for not liking him. That's all my Facebook feed is.
  10. What's hilarious to me is everyone that's anti-Trump has been protesting before and after the election how he's a man of hate and how he's going to divide us, yet then they "protest" with hate themselves. It might be the very definition of irony.
  11. I just asked three right there and even said I was just starting, so that would have been a good place to start. However, I'm heavily brain damaged, so were those questions not clear enough? Also, did you even read my opening paragraph of this thread(?): I acknowledge that it has most likely been discussed a lot but I haven't been here.
  12. If they were wrong, then they would have been corrected by others and not just said "they'll be back again" and addressed my points. No one has addressed my questions in that post besides for open enrollment. Let's start slow: How did it go from blowing teams out all year to a losing record? Talent really fell off that much? It's just a coincidence that it happened almost as soon as Dale left?
  13. That's why I asked about enrollment, but it is kind of ironic to do it right when the football team starts struggling, no? I love how you attack that and act like that's the only thing my post consisted of but address nothing about anything else or the football struggles.
  14. lol.......... because I asked honest questions about an interesting topic that no one can offer an answer to, I'm butt-hurt? :thumb: Your opinion is that the talent wasn't there, but they have over a hundred kids and kids pouring in from this feeder system everyone always raved about, so is it that, or is it the inability to coach them or adapt to their skill set? Does a drop-off in talent explain 25 years of domination suddenly falling to a three-win season? That might explain the opening their enrollment boarders, but was the talent always there when Dale was coaching? Hard to believe that so many players involved could fall-off so quick. Nobody's butt-hurt. Get over it. Don't get all agitated just because someone asks questions that no one wants to answer. Everyone was so willing to throw out praise and give reasons for dominance when things were going so well, but it's not allowed to be discussed when the tides turn? Very mature :thumb:
  15. Here's the difference I see: When other countries have captured people and have done it, it's usually been doing it to journalists or people with no knowledge of our affairs, which even the common soldier most likely wouldn't have knowledge of our plans or anything that would be of much use to the enemy, meaning that they are doing it just to do it and to cause pain. If we're doing it, it would be to get information that would save lives.
  16. Did they have a feeder system back in the late 80s like they do now? Did they reload every year instead of having to rebuild like they are now? Regardless of being a solid program in the past, they never had anything close to this 25 years of dominance. So, regardless of being a "power" in the past, will they ever return to dominance? Will they ever return to being contenders in the state? My question clarified my answer. To make it even more clear, though, they're either a Highlands homer or just blinded by past Highlands success, which why else would anyone who wasn't a homer would just blindly have faith that they'll suddenly be great again. You could argue past success, but things have changed. Also, it's not like they just went from good to average and there's not much work to get back on top because they went from the best-of-the-best to bad. I say people act like nothing's wrong because everyone seems to believe that there will be some magical fix. There's no state of emergency. Maybe the administration and coaches see it, though, because why else would Highlands start taking in students from outside their borders again? And down years in the past 100 years is different than a down year in current times, especially when they had pretty much 25 years of dominance. Like I said above, it's not just competing for state every year to suddenly losing in the semi-finals, it was a domination for 25 years to having a losing record. It went from two-platooning to not even having good enough players to put together a winning season, or was it coaching, or was it that other teams are improving, or is it a combination of all three or two of the three. That was the question of the thread and no one has offered an answer.
  17. Indulge me. Why else would they have blind faith that Highlands will magically return to dominance with no reasoning?
  18. If they weren't, they would have posted things with logic and not just said "hahahah...... Highlands will be back just because they're Highlands." At least back in the 2000s, people would use things like the feeder system as a reason for Highlands' success.
  19. And have barely a winning season and then a horrible losing season and you think everything is fine? Because it's very strange that a team would go 25 years just blowing teams out to then losing in the semis to then only winning 3 games. Something is obviously different. That doesn't just happen. They stopped two-platooning, so was that because of a lack of talent of the coaching level or other schools becoming better? So you're expecting Highlands to rebound in 22 years and don't consider those 22 years a downfall? Not only was Highlands winning in the past 25 years, but they were blowing teams out. What will cause this resurgence in 22 years? History tells us they'll be back again? When has this ever happened in Highlands football history? You think a team suddenly goes from dominating teams every year in almost every game to a barely winning record and then a losing record and there's nothing wrong?! I have yet to see one post with any logical argument against me, but rather just blind homerism. And then none have returned to dominate, so what's your argument?! Those teams also never had 25 YEARS of just blowing teams out.
  20. That Highlands football is no longer the dominant force that they once were and won't be back to that level. This thread was also a question, not a statement. Highlands football made Fort Thomas and was their pride. Actually, my senior year, we beat them in the playoffs, which was after the wreck so I obviously wasn't playing, but the point of this thread is to find out why they're no longer dominant (or even relevant), which you once again avoided.
  21. Three or four years with one or two losses and a few national titles and you'd like to compare that to 25+ years of dominance by Highlands? (They also only had ONE national title in that span.) They've also never returned to that level since then and haven't even won a conference title, much-less a National one. Try again. When has Notre Dame been relevant enough to state that they returned to dominance? Big whiff on that one. Try again. Big from 2001 to 2008ish but have never returned to that dominance. You're strengthening my point :thumb:
  22. When have they dominated like Highlands has? They may have had a few (3) off years but only have one national title since 2000 and only one in the fifteen years before that and only one in the ten years before that, so not like they were ever really on top in any comparison to Highlands to begin with. Mic drop.
