  1. He had a great game seemed to be hitting the QB every play.

Yes he played a great game thanks. HE got credit on some but boy he had like 3 snaps and someone else's name got called lol. He said mom it doesn't matter the coaches know. Ok son lol. I tell you one thing. NUMBER 91 omg he was awesome. I don't know how to pronounce his name I think it's swollback regardless he did an awesome awesome job

  2. Cooper was a major help on our defense.. He played that OLB position better than I have seen this yr! Keep him in!! Playmakers make plays on both sides of the ball!

From what I hear Boone knows all our weakness on both sides of the ball and so they need to play the best 11 no matter who or what grade they are. IF Cooper is as good as you say I pray they let him play. These boy's need another win

  3. Could it be that @Mediocre Nachos meant Highlands' weakness is the run defense? That would be the matchup--Boone's running game vs Highlands' run defense.

I haven't seen Highlands this year so I don't know but it appears that could be what M N meant by his comment.

That may be I don't know. With some of the adjustments that have been made I think D will be ok. IF Dunn remains going both ways and the other Lb that was helping 41 stays I think it was sparkling shoe's then we will be ok. They both made great improvement on the D. But as we all know thing's don't always stay the same.

  4. @oldgrappler is spot on with his assessment. Boone can win this game by grinding it out on the ground. If they can sustain drives and keep the Birds' offense off the field, the odds are favorable for a victory. I agree that Boone will have to score in the 20's to win this one but their strength is the running game and also Highlands' weakness. Onward and upward, Rebels!
Highlands weakness is our running game? I have to disagree with this statement. But best of luck to the Rebels. I have a feeling Offense will be on the field a lot.
  5. Well feed that boy! We need more size at Boone.

I think he is referring to the apparent lack of confidence in Highlands' ability to beat Boone among several of the posters. This should be an easy pick, but Boone won last week against a team that beat Highlands this season and Highlands has struggled plenty. So there is angst among some Highlands' supporters.

The game will come down to whether Boone can stop the Highlands offense from going over 20 points. They hung 53 on SK so they are capable of scoring. We've been hearing all season how the Bluebirds defense is suspect.

While Boone's offense hasn't been wearing out the score keeper's thumb, they can control the clock by mounting substantial drives. They did this against every team they've played including Layfayette, Ryle, Conner, etc. Eliminate some mistakes and they could post some more points on the board and keep Highlands' offense off the field. The Boone defense held CC to about 150 total yards, only 65 on the ground. As several have noted in Boone Co threads this season, they are improving and have played a killer schedule. I would also point out that Boone is on a win streak.

So anything can happen on Friday night.

Yeah I don't know if that's what he's talking about or not. Just hope it's nothing I've said. I don't sugar coat anything and I've said it before and I will say it again we have issues on BOTH side's of the ball not only DEFENSE. All season long both sides have been very unpredictable. Never knowing what you're going to get. Defense more than offense but it can't be blamed only on D. As for the team's they lost Campbell County they should have won. A lot went into that game. ALOT of flukes.

  6. There was a series of subbing on D but it didn't appear the 1st team O came out until the last drive or two. When the defense went back to the 30/50 look it appeared that is when the subs really came in on D.

Not sure about the offense . But the defense had alot of subs yes. Though out the game I seen a number of kid's who's not seen the field very often get the chance and that was awesome. I don't think we'll really see the impact of the changes until we play a more competitive team. And I mean that in the most respectful way. If the changes even stay in place . One never knows. They may have done it this way just to see how it would go?

  7. Yes number 50 does a great job. He is tough and plays very hard. I found the game very boring lol. I thought Wilson was a good help for the offense as well. Most of the game was played bye 2,3,4,5, string I think. I think all the boy's had a good game and I think they all just about had a chance on the field which is always nice to see

On Defense I meant to say sorry

  8. The 2 DTs were inside eye of the guards. By alignment they make it hard on the OL blocking scheme wise. That and number 50 and whoever the other was made life hard for Grant. 50 did great job of playing down the LOS making plays. Does that make sense?

  9. The two DTs in 1s (and they appear to be pretty decent) causes some issues. It looks as if they are trying to use 2 to take 3 on offense. Then the LBs have B gap with the DEs having C. If there is a TE the DE slides to a 7 instead of a 5. That allows their OLB to play D gap. It looked like there were a few other changes personnel wise. I didn't see any gold cleats either. If this is really a new alignment (I haven't seen it on film) then I can understand the changes. I don't think it completely solves their problems but it helps.

They only did it once in the first quarter. I believe about their 3rd defensive snap they went back to one of their original alignments. It might of been a mistake but I'm pretty sure they've shown it on tape. The overloaded the front to the field. It left them in a bad spot into the boundary.

Why do you say the two DT'S in the first cause some issues I'm not understanding that?

  10. Understatement of the year for a lackluster Highlands D. Dunn was outstanding and not only looked the part on Defense but certainly played the part. One wonders had some adjustments been made earlier in the season where would Highlands be right now...

Won't get no argument from me. I thought he did a great job. Now if it will only continue.

  11. Does HHS typically bring a banner to run through at away games? I have no clue how common it is for teams to do that for away games. It was interesting all the different reactions people had over the "99 Problems" banner.

At every game I've been to all the teams have done it. Even team's playing against us

  12. Dang straight it happened! Listen I'm not questioning anything but there are some things you just don't do. No wonder people are pouncing on Highlands right now while they can.....And I don't blame them one bit! You won't find me week in and week out complaining about if another team was running the score up on HHS. If you don't have the right personal playing in key positions then your doomed to fail for sure. And if those are the right players playing......Why not try coaching hem up!
Why do what you are asked to do when you are rewarded for NOT?????????????????
