  1. 21-0 Etown 8:20 1st qtr Punt Return TD. Etown hasn't run a play on offense yet.
  2. 14-0 Etown 10:50 1st qtr KO Return and Pick Six
  3. Etown will allegedly be without 6 players tonight against Bardstown. Starting middle linebacker, 2 starting O linemen, both starting D ends, and their kicker. All were suspended by the KHSAA for tonight's game for their roles in last weeks brawl with Larue Co. Etown should still win but should be much closer if this holds true.
  4. Bardstown won last years game 27-13. Panthers roll this year. Running Clock.
  5. Final 35-13 Etown. Good ball game. Hawks better than I thought.
  6. 28-7 Etown. Jaggers goes for it 4 and 1 from his own 29. Etown holds, scores 2 plays later. 4:21 3rd qtr.
  7. 21-7 Etown 7:14 3rd qtr. Tempers flaring here. Both teams had a player ejected.
  8. 14-7 Etown at half. Hawks controlled ball for the majority of the 1st half. Etown only 1 possession on offense.
  9. I've watched Jay Becherer every game for the last 3 years and he's as tough a kid as I've seen in a long time. Got D1 talent just not prototypical D1 size. Kid leaves it all on the field every game, fantastic player.
  10. According to Nathaniel Bryan who covered the game for the CJ Etown had 56 yards of offense on 14 plays CAL had 8 yards on 13 plays Outgained them 7-1, picked off a pass and forced a safety. Led 9-0. In my book that's domination. Obviously things went terribly wrong for the Panthers after that as they were the ones dominated the rest of the way.
  11. Etown is smaller up front than every team they play. To beat Etown you have to out athlete them and Etown is loaded with athletes. Etown dominated CAL on both sides of the ball for a quarter and a half before a knucklehead unnecessary roughness penalty on a 3rd down stop changed the momentum and CAL took over from there. If Etown gets the ball back in that situation, up 9-0 with the momentum, that game could have ended very differently.
  12. Anybody see the Boyle/Central playoff game last year? Anybody see the Etown/Central playoff game last year? Both teams are pretty much the same personnel wise as last season correct? Obviously a year bigger, stronger, and faster but still mostly the same kids. Boyle was dominated and beaten handily by 31 points. Etown took Central to the wire losing on a jump ball TD pass in the final seconds. My money is on the Panthers to make it to the final. This of course is dependent on both teams even making it to the Semifinals. Caldwell and Lex Cath are not pushovers.
  13. Larue Co has started out 5-0 but against a very weak schedule. The 5 opponents they've beaten have a total of 6 wins among them. We'll see if they're for real or not when they travel to Etown in October. I like Caldwell out of this group hands down.
