No to classes, no to seeding. Blind draw it, it fits with today as the almighty dollar generally trumps so much. Each school that goes to a regional gets the same cut from the gate, therefore, its a win win.

So you'd be completely fine with watching Kansas and Villanova play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament then?

As of this morning 38 1st round regional games have been played in Girls Basketball. 19 of the 38 games have been decided by more than 20 points and 9 of the 38 games have been decided by more than 30 points. Does a school really deserve to make the regional and then lose by 30 points? Look at the girls scores from the 6th and 7th regions last night. That could not have been fun for players, coaches or fans. Thoughts???

Sure it is. The post game meal to McDonald's makes it all worth it according to some people. I'm with you though. It's ridiculous. That's why I'm so against drawing in district tournaments. I've seen years where two far superior teams end up playing in the first round, leaving a much inferior team to not only get drilled once but twice. I don't see that as a positive experience at all.

Last nights game with 17 seconds left and Bracken with the ball. Coach Letcher had 2 fouls to give before Bracken entered the bonus so he was not going to give up a 3 or at least an uncontested 3. Give credit to the Lady Jackets defense for not allowing a 3 at the end.

If you're down 3 with 4 seconds left, I don't care if I get the ball stuffed in my face, a 3 has to be the only option.

I understand that but at the end with 4 seconds left and down 3, the shot of choice should not be a six foot jumper. You have no choice at that point but to attempt a 3. Not enough time to risk the 2. They did this last year against Mason, down 3 and driving to the basket to try to score a 2 with 4-5 seconds left. This is not discrediting Nicholas County's defense at all, just the questionable offensive calls at the end.

Second year in a row that the Lady Bears needed three but tried to get two with 3-4 seconds left.

The PA announcer in the 37th District boys Championship game the other night who keep in mind is supposed to be neutral even though it was held at Campbell Co. screamed into his mic when a Campbell County guy was fouled and made the shot "TOO EASY!!!!" Very uncalled for IMO.

At least it wasn't the same guy who did the 10th region girls tournament last year. He would make unnecessary PSA's during game play and would repeat them every minute.

Campbell wins easily. Tune up for a semifinal clash with the Lady Royals.

Perfect setup would have been Scott-Nicholas, GRC-Bracken, Campbell-Bourbon, Mason-Harrison IMO.

I felt like this was a pretty even match throughout but Paris took full advantage of Graham's foul trouble. When he went out early in the 3rd with his 4th foul, the Greyhounds took full advantage and made a run to pull away. GRC cut the lead back to single digits only for Graham to foul out. After he was gone, they were able to hold GRC off. Congrats to both teams!

Should this be considered the biggest upset thus far this post season?

I'd say if it wasn't for Dawson Springs winning against Hopkins Central, this could very well be the biggest. Dawson Springs lost twice to Hopkins soundly during the regular season.

Even though the district doesn't seed, most people would feel like Robertson County winning over Nicholas County would be an upset.

What county is Dawson Springs located?

Part Hopkins, part Caldwell.

Community Christian also finishes their season 0-30 with a 76-38 loss to McCracken County in the 2nd District Tournament. I feel like them and Metcalfe County need to schedule a game against one another next season.

Metcalfe County ends their season 0-30 with a 81-51 loss to Clinton County in the 16th District Tournament.

Just came across a tweet by Alan Cutler stating that this game was stopped due to fighting.

We talked district tournaments and I made my choices for the Sweet 16 winner and my choice for Mr. Basketball.
