PRP moves on to play Simon Kenton tomorrow for the state championship.
-
End 6th, still 6-1 PRP.
-
PRP leads McCracken County 6-1 in the top of the 6th.

Are there just 3 classes in softball?
I wish there was.
-
Does anybody have a schedule they could post?
-
Judging by the whining and crying I've seen on Twitter, there should have been 300 players selected to the 1st team. Another thing is on softball where one person was a 3A player of the year and a different person was Miss Softball. How does that work?
-
Not that it mattered in the game I watched, Kaylee Tow hit one to right center that rolled under the fence. She would have easily had a stand up triple. She was already to second base when the ball went under.

When I kept score (softball) I was and will always be a paper and pencil guy, I'm not fooling around with all the drop downs on Game Changer and missing what the hell is going on on the field.......SCREW THAT!!!
But you'll at least mark a legit hit as a hit, correct?

I wonder if they could take away regular season games for the following year, if not compliant. Instead of having a limit of 36 games prior to postseason, that team would get 33. I think coaches would take notice.
I know a couple of teams that barely squeeze out 10 games. HAHA

Because they won their regions. Banning a team from the tourney doesn't even come close to fitting the crime of not posting stats. I don't trust home score keepers for the most part (@oldguy-although you are one of the few I'd trust).
There are several scorekeepers out there that can't be trusted. I've watched games and followed on Gamechanger simultaneously and a person kept giving errors instead of hits to preserve ERA.

Wouldn't be opposed to tournament being reseeded according to this.

Per Twitter, Geoff Stewart has resigned at Boyd County.

My comment was general as to differences between 40/43 foot eras in Kentucky softball, not directed at Montana Fouts. The most dominant pitchers in 2017 can't put up numbers like pitchers put up 10-15 years ago. I also think the talent level is far better now as well.
As far as Fouts, when you mix in the lack of competition it becomes even more difficult to figure. Last year she had a .15 ERA for the season and 3.09 at state tournament. She gave up more hits at state than all season combined. She's clearly a big talent, but she has not been challenged playing high school softball. That seems pretty clear.
Depends on the scorekeeper too. I went to a few of their games this year and they were giving errors to players on plays that should have been scored base hits.

She had 9 strikeouts in 3 innings against Scott County but the game was washed out.
-
Anderson County's Bailey Curry had 11 HRs thru 27 games and homered against Henry, giving her at least 12.
If that's the case, her career total is at least 74.
Peyton would need 24 and Tow would need 22 to force a tie.
She also homered in the 8th region final against Collins. I believe that John Herndon said she finished with 75.

The bracket is as unbalanced as I've ever seen a state tournament bracket in any sport.
-
1 played 2 last season in the first round when you had St. X and Greenup Co.
Yep. Wasn't right then, isn't right now. St.Xavier was not the #2 team either. McCracken County was.
-
They do it in other states all the time in other sports. I don't get the whole "It CAN'T be done" thinking from some people.
-
May have to go check this out.
-
The only team remaining that's below .500. Do they have a shot against the mighty East Carter Lady Raiders?
-
Union County, Lincoln County and Sayre come into tonight's regional championship games below .500. Who do you think, if any, wins their championships tonight?
-
Yeah. Jake Ware worked I would say a 15 pitch at bat then hit the grand slam that pretty much put the game away. Brossart was in a tough predicament there. They intentionally walked Walton to get to Ware. Tough decision when you have two bats that are more than capable of going deep.

Wow! So Elizabethtown, Campbell County, Pikeville, Southwestern and Christian County were plagued by the upset bug today. Am I missing any others?

11 AM Knott vs Breathitt
1:30 PM Estill v Perry
4 PM Letcher vs Jackson City
6:30 PM Hazard vs Powell
Will you be there providing updates? It is so hard to get updates out of the 14th region on social media. Virtually nobody on Twitter ever updates any games and most of their scores are the last in the state to be reported.

Yep. Definitely benefited from the draw.
